Unhinged Desires : A Dark Romance (Sick Love Duet Book 1)

Unhinged Desires: Chapter 28

Dominic stands at the end of my bed in nothing but a pair of black boxer briefs. The light from the bathroom is just enough that I can make out the hard ridges of his body. A body I want warming my bed.

I pull the blankets back. “Get in,” I tell him.

“You’re bossy,” he says.

“You have no idea how bossy I can be, Dominic. You think you’re obsessed with me now? Wait until you know the real me. You’re going to change your mind on this whole stalker thing,” I warn him.

“I know the real you, Little Bee,” he says before climbing in next to me.

I roll over to face him. “Hmm, and who’s the real me?” I ask him, interested in hearing what he has to say.

“You are Lucy Christianson, a fucking angel who got misplaced from the heavens. Someone who shouldn’t be letting the likes of me touch a single inch of her.” He runs his fingertips down the side of my face. “You are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. You care about those close to you… a lot. Your family, your friends… they’re important to you and you do everything you can to help them, even if they don’t know about it. You’re selfless. Your favourite colour is green. Your favourite movie is The Notebook. Favourite song? ‘Brave’ by Sara Bareilles. You’re studying business, in order to take over your family’s corporation, when your true passion is design. But you won’t tell your parents that because you don’t want to let them down. You think that you’re invinsible, that nobody really sees you…”

“I—” I don’t know what to say. He’s right.

Dominic places his finger over my lips. “I see you though, and you are far from invinsible, Little Bee. And you shine so bright it burns through me.”

“How do you know all that?” I ask him.

He tucks my hair behind my ear, his eyes locked on mine. “I like watching you. I like knowing things about you that others don’t.”

“I’m scared,” I admit.

Dominic’s hand freezes in my hair, his eyes widen, and his mouth opens and closes.

“Not of you,” I add quickly and watch his body relax. “I’m scared that I’m going to get too attached to you and that you’re going to break my heart.”

“Do you know why I call you Little Bee?” he asks.

I shake my head.

“Because I’m allergic to them. Deathly. One sting and I’ll go into anaphylactic shock,” he says.

“What? Why didn’t you tell me? What if you got stung and I didn’t know what to do. Do you have an EpiPen? Where is it? I should get one too. Just in case.” My mind is racing with images I’d rather not be seeing right now. Dominic’s throat closing up… Him falling to his knees in front of me… His eyes staring back at me, dead and lifeless, but not in the way I’ve become accustomed to…

“I did tell you. In the bathroom that one time. When I mentioned how I thought one touch would kill me. You just didn’t catch my meaning then. Honestly, giving you that name, my Little Bee, was meant to remind me that I could look but not touch. That touching you would end us both. But I’ve never wanted to live more than I do now. I want to have a lifetime of fucking you, Little Bee,” he says.

“A lifetime is a really long time, Dominic.”

“Let’s hope so.”

“Don’t break my heart.”

He doesn’t respond to my request, my plea, but then I remember Dominic doesn’t make promises he can’t keep. His hands do, however, start feeling up and down my body, lifting my silk nightie up around my hips. “Fuck, Little Bee, you’re not wearing panties,” he growls into my ear, pushing his body harder against mine.

“Mmm, I was hoping you’d turn up,” I whisper.

“Roll over,” he orders as he positions me exactly how he wants me. Flat on my stomach. I feel Dominic sit up and straddle the backs of my thighs. His hands spread my ass cheeks apart, and his finger presses at my asshole. “I can’t wait to fuck this ass of yours,” he says before dragging a hand through my wet folds. “Fuck, you’re wet. Have you been thinking about me, Little Bee? Has your pussy missed the feel of me filling it up?”

“Yes,” I admit shamelessly. I want him to slide into me. I want to feel him stretch me.

Dominic shifts and tugs my legs apart. I go to hop up on my knees and he pushes me back down. “Stay,” he says as one of his palms holds my lower back against the mattress.

I feel the tip of his cock at my entrance. He pushes in a little before withdrawing completely and rubbing the head of his cock through my folds, around my clit.

“Oh god.” My hips buck up, a lame attempt at trying to capture his cock in my pussy.

“Fuck, you feel so good,” Dominic says while slowly sliding his cock all the way in and dragging it back out.

“Oh god!” He rubs the head of his cock back over my clit. “I need you inside me,” I groan.

Dominic’s hand lands on the back of my neck. “I know what you need, Little Bee. I’m going to give you everything you need. Everything you fucking want.” He slams his cock into me, stilling as he bottoms out.

I shift my hips towards him and circle as much as I can with his weight holding me down. Each movement has my clit rubbing against the bedsheets, sending bolts of pleasure through my body.

“Fuck yes. Fuck yourself on my cock, Little Bee. Make yourself come all over me.” Dominic’s fingers dig into the flesh of my ass as he spreads my cheeks apart. I feel his thumb press against my asshole, inserting it just a little.

“Oh fuck.” I push back on him harder, wanting more. Needing more of him. My hips start moving faster. The combination of Dominic’s cock buried in me and my clit rubbing against the fabric of the bedsheets has me chasing my orgasm. It’s so close. Dominic’s thumb dips deeper into my ass, sending me over that cliff as my body spasms and my pussy convulses around his cock as I come apart.

“Fuck yes, milk my cock, Little Bee,” Dominic grunts as he thrusts into me deeper, filling me with his seed.

I DON’T HAVE to open my eyes to know he’s gone. I can sense his absence. Which is confirmed when I reach my arm across the bed and find the sheets cold. My hand lands on something and my eyes snap open. A blue tulip. He left a freaking blue tulip on the bed.

Where the hell did he even get it from?

I bring the flower to my nose and inhale the scent. A smile creeps across my face. I won’t admit it, but I really do love these flowers. And the sentiment behind them.

Climbing out of bed, I head for the bathroom. After relieving myself and washing my hands, I make my way to the living room and flick on the news channel. I’m halfway to the kitchen, more than ready for a cup of coffee, when I hear the name Christianson coming from the TV. I spin around and my eyes land on a picture of Xavier and Shar—my brother looking more pissed off than I’ve ever seen him and my best friend appearing as though she just took a bullet to her heart.

I reach for the controller and turn up the volume. No, this is not happening. That isn’t like my brother. They’re accusing him of sexually assaulting an employee.

I run to the bedroom and pull my phone off the charger. There are a heap of missed calls and messages. Finding Xavier’s name in my contacts, I call him first.

I know my brother. He did not do this. He would never do this.

“LuLu, now’s really not a good time.” He sounds so tired.

“Xav, I just saw the news. What’s going on?”

“It’s nothing, Lucy. It’ll blow over. I’m fixing it,” he insists.

“What happened? I mean, obviously whoever this chick is, she’s lying. But who is she? Why would she do this?”

“I fired her right before Shar started because she tried to come on to me. I turned down her advances. I guess she didn’t like that too much.”

“Okay, what can I do? I want to help.”

“Call Shar. She could probably use someone to talk to who’s not me,” he says with a sigh. I know it must be killing him to admit that.

“Okay, I’ll call her,” I tell him. “You are going to get these charges dropped, right?” My brother’s career is everything to him. I don’t know what kind of impact this could have on his firm, but it can’t be good.

“I will fix it. Don’t worry about me, LuLu. I’ll sort it out.”

“Okay. I love you, Xavier. You are a good person and nobody is going to believe this shit.” I’ll make sure of it… somehow.

“Thanks, LuLu,” he says before disconnecting the call.

I look at my phone. My hands are shaking. I want to find this woman, this ex-employee of his. I want to find her and I want to tear her apart. Force her to tell the truth. But until I can do that, I’ll check on Shar, so I dial her number next.

“Lucy, I’m guessing you saw the news?” she asks.

“I did. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. It’s Xavier I’m worried about. He hasn’t slept. He didn’t do this, Lucy,” she says, and I can hear the exhaustion in her voice too.

“I know that. What can I do to help?”

“I’m heading to my apartment later today, and I’m moving in with Xavier. I, um, are you okay with that?”

“Am I okay with you becoming my sister? Hell yes, I am. I’ll come help you pack,” I tell her and smile for the first time since hearing the news report.

“Thank you.”

“Shar, I have every faith that Xavier will work this out. I mean, my brother’s the best criminal defence lawyer in the city. If he can’t get the charges dropped, then no one can.”

“I know. I’ve got to go, but I’ll see you at my place later.”

“I’ll be there,” I tell her.

I walk back out to the kitchen and start up the coffee machine. My brain is whirling with all the ways I could possibly help my brother. None of them legal and all of them requiring bail money. I need to do something, anything. I need to get him out of this. I pick up my phone and call Dominic’s number.

“Lucy, where are you? What’s wrong?” he asks. He sounds out of breath.

Where are you? What are you doing?” I fire back, curious as to why.

“I’m at my place, working out. I can hear the sound of doors opening and shutting. Why are you pacing around your kitchen? What’s wrong?”

I glance up at the ceiling. “You need to get rid of these cameras, wherever they are. It’s a bit much.”

“Answer the question, Lucy. What happened?”

“Have you seen the news?” I ask.

“No, why?”

“My brother’s being charged with the sexual harassment of an employee,” I tell him.

“Okay,” he says it like I just told him the weather forecast.

“He’s innocent. He didn’t do this, Dom.”

“I’m sure he is. But why are you upset?”

“What do you mean why am I upset? He’s my brother. He’s hurting, and I want to fix it.”

“Lucy, your brother is a criminal defence attorney. I’m sure he’s more than capable of helping himself… if he’s innocent.”

“He is innocent. You know what? Forget I called. I don’t even know why I bothered.” I don’t wait for a reply, ending the call before slamming the phone down on the benchtop.
