Unexpected Encounter with my Boss (Vincent and Tiffany)

Chapter 77

Just as Brianna and William disappeared, Jenson released Tiffany's hand. With his head lowered, his tough-guy persona melted away.

A hint of melancholy now clung to his slumped shoulders.

Tiffany was taken aback by the sudden shift in his demeanor. A flicker of doubt crossed her mind.

"Were you... really in a relationship with Brianna?"

Jenson offered a self-deprecating smirk. "What? Still don't believe me? Think I'm not good enough for her?"

Tiffany was stunned and shook her head. "No, that's not it. You might not seem like the nicest guy, but Brianna's no angel either."

In her head, they were a perfect match in the worst possible way.

Jenson laughed. "You really are interesting."

Tiffany was speechless. "I'm just stating facts. Brianna is a bitch, and you shouldn't feel down about her."

"She stole your boyfriend, and you're not even angry?"

"I was angry at first, maybe. But now? I'm just disgusted."

Jenson paused, mulling over her words. He looked at Tiffany with a newfound curiosity. "I didn't think you'd be so practical about it. You moved on even quicker than I did."

Tiffany clarified, "It's not about moving on easily. It's about not wasting my energy on people who aren't worth it. Life's too short to dwell on bad choices. How can I move forward if I'm focused on the past?" Jenson smiled slightly. "Don't you want revenge? How about we team up?"

Tiffany shook her head. "Not interested."

She had better things to do, and revenge was certainly not on her list.

...

Brianna rushed to catch up with William. "William, you have to believe me! I don't know that man. I've never even seen him before!"

"Okay," William responded, continuing to walk.

"William, are you angry? Please tell me how can prove my innocence. You saw him; he was with Tiffany. They were holding hands! It's a trap. Don't listen to them."

"Okay," William replied again, still not saying much else.

Desperate, Brianna grabbed his arm, making him stop in the corridor. "William, say something! Do you believe me or not?"

William's gaze met hers, his voice devoid of emotion. "It doesn't matter!"

Brianna was stunned. "Then, what does matter?"

William didn't answer. Instead, his mind replayed the image of Jenson and Tiffany, their hands intertwined.

creating a strange unease. It was as if something he had once considered his had been casually picked up by someone else and flaunted in front of him.

It was truly uncomfortable. It was a feeling he'd never experienced before!
