Chapter 587
Then, everyone heard Noah's voice next. "Are you talking to me? Why should I listen to you?"
"How dare you glare at me, you feral boy?"
"Since you want a face-off, do you dare to enter alone, Malcolm?"
"Why wouldn't I dare?"
With just a short recording, everyone understood what had happened that day. Malcolm had never thought that Noah would record the conversation, and Marlene and the rest hadn't expected it, either. "It's all fake... All of it was fake..." Malcolm looked at Clifford with teary eyes. "Great-Grandpa, that feral boy is tricking you."
The way he said "feral boy" was exactly the same as the voice in the recording. Even if Clifford wanted to be biased, there was no way he could do it anymore.
"I'm sure you've heard that too, guys. Malcolm was the one who stirred up trouble first."
Marlene's parents had come to get justice for Malcolm that day, and there was no way they would accept the outcome.
Henry harrumphed. "What can a short recording prove? Maybe that kid purposely made Malcolm say that and recorded it so that we could hear it. It just shows how devious he really is!"
The Larson family truly were experts in manipulating the truth. Yvette regretted coming and confronting the unreasonable crowd.
"Don't you think it's ridiculous of you to think a four-year-old kid would record something to make something up?" she coldly said.
"Maybe his mom taught him that," Marlene answered. Not only were they tarnishing Noah's reputation at that moment, but Yvette was being dragged through the mud as well.
Yvette wanted to argue further, but Xavier stopped her. Then, everyone saw a bodyguard bringing over a flash drive.
After that, he played a video and showed everything that had happened outside the manor that day. They could clearly hear the audio recording as well, and it was exactly the same as the recording Noah had. That wasn't even the most crucial part. Xavier told his man to play the conversation Marlene had with the driver that day.
She'd clearly known Malcolm had taken his friends along to beat Noah up. Not only had she not stopped them, but she'd even encouraged them to do so.
After the recording ended, everyone was silent. Xavier didn't speak loudly, but he terrified everyone. "Is there anything else you would like to argue about?"
With hard evidence in front of them, Marlene's parents couldn't say a word anymore. Seeing how no one was making a sound, Xavier added, "Since you know what has happened now who was the one who said he would kneel outside?"
Malcolm immediately shied into a corner and looked at Clifford, looking for the latter's help. Clifford immediately tried to end the argument peacefully. "Forget it, Xav. Malcolm has just gotten out of the hospital."
Xavier thought it was amusing. If
Malcolm didn't need to kneel and apologize because he had just gotten discharged, then what about Noah? After all, he had just gotten out of the hospital as well. Xavier had never come to make Noah apologize in the first place.
"Zayden, Marlene, you have two choices now. Either one of you kneel now, or Malcolm has to do it."
Malcolm was afraid of Xavier the most, and he was so scared that he was shaking at that moment. Tears were about to roll down his face. "Please don't be angry, Uncle Xav. Mom was the one who taught me everything..."
"Stop spouting nonsense, you silly
kid." Marlene never expected the confrontation to end like that as well. "Xa, it wouldn't be right for as to kneel and apologize to someone younger than us. I'll make sure to educate Malcolm well in the future."
Although she was saying that, she was never planning to kneel at all. After all, she looked down on Xavier and didn't think she should kneel just because he told her to do so.
"Are you sure you're not kneeling?" Xavier asked for the last time.
Marlene looked away and stopped talking. Then, Zayden coldly scolded, "Don't go too far, Xav. We're only being nice to you now because you can't see a thing."
