Chapter Last Day on Earth: Part 2
Loki
My heart was racing, never in my life I have been afraid to approach her. Ever since the day we met, I always felt our connection. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and we both knew instantly we were meant to be together forever.
She was fast asleep in one of the spare bedrooms in the pack house. I creeped into her room quietly, hoping not to wake her. She looked so small in the king-sized bed. She was turned to the side, her arms were tucked in, and her hair was tousled to the side.
I never thought I would get the chance to see her again. I wanted to say goodbye. It was all that I wanted right now. Just to hear her voice would bring sparks to my blank mind.
I stood over her silently, watching her chest rise and fall. Her breathing was soft and steady, like she was in a deep sleep. I put my hand out and hovered it over her body. I wanted to touch her, and I wanted to pretend like nothing was wrong and just enjoy the moment, but maybe I was being selfish. I couldn’t hurt her any longer. I had to let myself go. I had no place here, and I had no business messing with her emotions. I made my choices, and now I was paying for it.
I got down to my knees on her bed side. “I love you H,” I whispered softly. “I’ll find you again in the after life.” I was so close to touching her, but she already accepted my fate. Maybe she thought I was already dead, all the more reason not to wake her. I couldn’t pull her back into the mess I was in.
I was mere inches away from her exposed neck. The heat, her smell, the way her skin glistened in the early morning sun was almost a dream like experience. I never thought I would get a chance to see her again, but here I was.
I couldn’t help to give her one last kiss.
I leaned in and softly placed my lips on the side of her cheek, trying my best not to wake her. This was the last time I would see her alive, and I didn’t want to let go. All the sparks, they never left, it was like I was kissing her for the first time. I still remember the night. It felt like an eternity ago, and all the memories started to flood in.
I remember the time we first met like it was yesterday.
When she was training new recruits, I always wanted to help her, but she was too stubborn to accept the help. She was always independent and refused to show anyone that she needed anything. That’s what I admired so much about her.
She always used to avoid me while we had our warrior meetings, and I always wondered why, then I realized after. She was dating Eric at the time, but there were sparks between us that she couldn’t ignore. I always tried my best to talk to her, but he was always there to stop it.
But there was no stopping fate. We were destined to be together. Whether it was in this life, or the next.
One day after a long shift of training recruits, Eric left early with Damian to a meeting, and he left us to clean up the training area. She was quiet the entire time of cleaning, refusing to look me in the eye, but that’s when we reached for the same fight pad.
Once our hands touched, there was no looking back. Our eyes locked, watching each other like we were aliens discovering a new planet. I would never forget the sensations.
The way the blood rushed to her face.
The way her hand tightened around mine.
The way she leaned into me like we were two magnets that couldn’t be pulled away.
“How could I deny this,” she whispered.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment since the day we met,” I whispered back.
That kiss was one that I would never forget. It was also the start to the end of me. After Eric found out, I had to defend myself, then my beast took over. I couldn’t allow him to take her from me. I wasn’t sure what his intentions were, but my only solution was to rein power over him.
The only way was to become Alpha.
My whole life I was running away from abandonment. No one ever loved me the way Hippolyta did, and now, I was going to lose it all to Eric.
But today I realized I was wrong. Eric was never going to do that. I let my emotions take over, my beast was doing all the talking and decision making, and it only brought me pain and suffering. My biggest fear became true when I lost my fight to Damian then became a rogue.
It was all because I was scared, but today, I wasn’t afraid. I was accepting my decisions, and if that was going to allow my mate to stay safe, so be it.
The kiss on her cheek was only a few seconds long, but I was immediately met by her soft hand touching my face.
“Loki?” Her rasped voice rung softly in my ears. Just hearing her say my name brought goosebumps to my skin.
I pulled away gently to look at her.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to wake you…I have to go.” I put my hand on hers and was met with a tidal wave of emotions. I didn’t want to pull away, but being so close was making it feel better, like wrapping a wound with gauze.
Her touch was soothing to my soul.
“NO.” Her voice choked, and I could already see tears forming in her eyes.
“I have to save Diana and help Damian. I owe him.” I put my other hand on the side of her arm and got closer. I didn’t intend on this happening, but I was running down hill and was picking up speed fast.
“You paid your debt already…I’m coming with you.”
I squeezed her hand tightly, “NO, you are needed here. You must protect the pack. I can’t let you get hurt H.” My throat was tightening up to the point it was hard to swallow.
“NO,” she said in a stern voice.
I wiped her face clean of the tears, but they were still pouring down hard. To see her cry like this tore me up inside.
“I can’t lose you again,” she cried out.
I pulled a rogue strand of hair behind her ear and looked her in the eyes. “You’re the strongest woman I know. You can do this.” I made light of the situation, but I was hesitant about the plan for tomorrow. I was confident in Damian, but we’ve never attempted a mission like this so outnumbered, even with the assistance of Adam and his men - it was a long shot.
“I can’t… I can’t….I can’t lose you…” Her words could barely get out.
I climbed onto the bed and laid beside her, wrapping her tightly in my arms as she wept. I’ve never seen her cry like she did today. Maybe it was because she knew I was a dead man. No matter how much I tried to redeem myself, death was always at my doorstep. I wasn’t new to the feeling, but she never got used to it.
“I won’t lie to you H. I don’t want to lie anymore. Just promise me something, if I don’t make it...” I looked down to her and pulled her chin up to my chest. “Move on, live your life. Don’t deny yourself happiness. Just remember I will always be looking over you, in this world or the next.”
“I’m not going to move on! Your finally back and you want to go kill yourself?”
“I won’t be able to live with myself if I leave now. There is no life for me out there. I can only do this one thing for you, because without Diana, I’m not sure how long Damian will last, and I’m not sure how long Fenrir will hold without him here. He needs her now more then ever. He is growing weaker as the days go on.”
“Is that why you didn’t mark me?”
“What?” I was trying to act confused, but I knew exactly what she meant. Once a destined pair mark each other, their powers are bonded, and without one, both will be significantly weakened.
“Is that why you didn’t mark me? Because you knew what you were doing was reckless?”
“No…Its not like that,” I sighed heavily.
“Then what is it?”
“Its…” I looked away briefly. I told her I wouldn’t lie, but the truth hurts. “I wanted to kill Eric, I thought he was going to take you from me, and the only way to do that was to become Alpha.”
“Are you serious?”
I paused and looked to her eyes. I thought my answer would bring her disgust, but it was quite the opposite. Her eyes were still watered, but she was looking to me like she always did. Her hand grazed the side of my cheek, and I closed my eyes, basking in her electric touch.
She grasped her hands onto my shoulders and planted her lips onto mine. “I would choose you over the Alpha of the world,” she whispered.
Her kiss was an explosion of emotions. All my pent-up stress, anger, and anxieties were evaporating. Her tongue was so sweet, and it flooded me with the memories of our previous life together.
I pushed mine further into her mouth to get a stronger taste. I was too deep into this moment to pull away. She was all that I desired, and if I had to die a thousand times over, I would do it for her.
I ran my hand through her hair, softly pushing it out of her face.
Her fingertips lightly traced circles onto my lower back, creating a ripple effect of electricity that swarmed through my body. I slowly climbed over top of her. She was only wearing a loose fitted t-shirt and underwear, but she could literally wear tattered rags and I would think she was the most beautiful woman on the planet.
The more she touched me, the more I felt myself go. Her soft skin as I traced all the way down to her lower back was euphoric. I kept my lips on her, but then quickly released when I pulled up the soft cotton fabric over her head. She pulled her arms up to allow the shirt to slip off her body.
I gazed onto her perfect body, and the more I looked, the faster the blood rushed down to my throbbing member.
“I never thought this would happen again…” She spoke softly as she exchanged the same look.
I threw her shirt across the room, then quickly locked eyes with her. Her heart was beating fast, almost matching the same speed as mine. My limbs tingled, my breathing turned rapid, but my eyes were focused solely on her. Out of all the chaos coursing through my body, she was the one thing that kept my mind calm.
I could smell her arousal, soaking through her thin white cotton panties. My jaw clenched tightly as I reached for them, slowly pulling them down her curvaceous legs. She kicked them off and whipped them to the floor.
I smiled as I laid eyes on her fully nude body. “I prayed for a moment like this.”
“You prayed?” She giggled as she wrapped her arms around my neck, lightly pecking the side of my cheek. “I thought you didn’t believe in god.”
A surge of energy coursed through my body as her warm breath hit the side of my ear.
“You are my god,” I whispered back.
I picked her up in my arms and she gave a small gasp, then I pushed her down into the bed in one fluid motion.
Her legs suddenly wrapped tightly around my waist, then she gripped onto my shirt and tore it in half. Sometimes I would forget how strong she really was.
She giggled a little more as she ran her hands across my bare chest. Her laugh was light, high pitched, and cute as hell.
I loved every bit of it.
“It’s true,” I smirked.
“Right back at you,” Her smiled grew as she gave another peck on my lips, still maintaining the tight grasp around my waist.
“But aren’t gods immortal?”
“Yes, they are,” she kissed with more force this time.
I began pulling my pants off. I was wearing the undergarments of the Fenrir warrior gear, but I’m sure Damian had spare clothes lying around somewhere .
“Well, that’s a relief.” She playfully smiled as she looked down to my unsheathed member.
The last time I felt relief from a woman’s warmth was not long ago, with the unnamed Omega back at Red Blood pack, but it was never like this. The way Hippolyta’s hands felt when she touched my skin was something that could never be matched by another.
She was understanding when I told her back at the Crimson house. I suppose we were both open to the idea of multiple partners. It was a common element to our relationship that no one would understand.
Werewolves were open creatures in general, but it was a practice that wasn’t known in modern times. The physical touch of another was different then the spiritual connection she and I had. Nothing would ever match to our mental bond, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
We always spoke about having more then one partners in the bedroom, but never really put it into practice. We never had enough time to explore our sexuality with one another.
It was time I wish we had, but tonight will be the night where I will explore every inch of her body until there was no where else to go.
