Trapped with a Lawyer

Chapter 201 Puppeteer Revealed

At noon, Samuel received a call just as he had finished his meeting. Soon after, he immediately drove to the hospital.

In the I.C.U.

The two guards at the door of the ward greeted Samuel as he walked in, "Mr. Shao!"

"How is she?"

"Doctor Si was here a couple of minutes ago and he gave us strict orders to keep her under surveillance, then he left."

"Hmm, I see."

Pushing the door open, Samuel walked in.

Amber lay lifelessly in bed, a stark contrast to her usual demeanour.

She had just turned 20, but the affliction she had been through, made her look much older.

Hearing the footsteps, Amber opened her eyes, not expecting to see Samuel.

But the surprise in her eyes didn't last long.

"Why am I here?" Her voice sounded raspy because she had been asleep for a long time. Samuel stood beside her bed, "That doesn't matter. Amber, tell me, who is the mastermind?" Though he had an inkling to what her answer would be, Samuel wanted to hear it from her mouth.

After fighting to stay alive, Amber was willing to finally name the master behind the puppeteering.

"I'll tell you, only if Mr. Shao, you can guarantee the safety of my family." Catherine had been threatening her, using her family to convince her to confess to everything, by giving them money. Samuel understood what she meant, "I can send you and your family abroad after you have recovered."

To cover her crimes, that ruthless woman had successively killed 5 people. Plus, she had sent several assassins to kill Amber when she was in a coma.

However, the bodyguards he hired were committed to their job, ensuring Amber survived the assassinations.

Somehow Amber believed Samuel. Without hesitation, she revealed the mastermind, "Catherine."

Amber resented Catherine, because it was she who made her life a living hell.

'At least this snake won't get away with it!' She thought to herself, although she didn't know if she could get her revenge fulfilled.

'So it's her!' Samuel nodded, "Thank you for telling me. You should rest now."

As he was about to leave, he heard Amber's faint voice, "Mr. Shao, why are so calm? Aren't you going to take vengeance?" "Isn't Ella the love of his life?' She was confused. 'Why does he act like what I told him is not important?'

Samuel halted and sneered, "Oh, I'm not a little boy. Both Catherine and Emma shall pay for what they did."

His voice was dripping with determination. 'The sisters will regret ever thinking about hurting my Ella' he thought to himself.

Amber was relived after hearing this. If evidence was found, Catherine would certainly be sentenced to death, then Amber wouldn't need to worry about the safety of her family.

As he left, he asked the bodyguards to stay on guard. Then he headed towards Ella's luxury ward.

The room was quiet. Ella had just fallen asleep, feeling too weak to do anything.

Bored, Melody was reading a book concerning Health Care which was given by Samuel. The presbyopic glasses was firmly sitting on the bridge of her nose.

When she saw Samuel, Melody stood up from the sofa, "Sam, she's asleep."

"I know." He nodded and walked towards the bed, noticing that Ella had slept with her phone in her hand.

Samuel prudently took the phone from her hand and placed it on the table.

After taking a look at his watch, he asked Melody with a soft voice, "The nurse hasn't brought lunch yet?"

He often had his lunch at the hospital alongside Ella. The food was of a high standard, since it was a hospital for rich people.

He even hired a chef who retired from a five-star hotel and a bunch of well-seasoned and experienced nutritionists.

Even Daisy would come to Chuck's office, from time to time, to have a taste.

The food there was the least of his concerns.

"No. Chuck ordered the kitchen to prepare some more. I think the food will soon be ready." Immediately after finishing her sentence, someone knocked on the door. Pushing a dinning cart, the nurse walked in. Smiling, she addressed Melody "Mrs. Shao, this is the special meal that Doctor Chuck requested on your behalf." "Thank you very much."

"You are welcome!"

The nurse left after she placed the food on the table.

Samuel picked up several lids and as expected, the food was excellent in appearance and aroma, which made Samuel's mouth water.

The girl sleeping in the bed dreamt of a banquet. However, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get close to it.

'It smells so good.' She stretched out her hands, trying to take the plates. But the food began to run until they were out of sight.

As Samuel was snipping off the throwaway chopsticks, he noticed that Ella was stretching her hands and they began flailing in all directions. 'What is happening?'

Curious, he put down the chopsticks and faced Ella, bending closer to her.

Licking her lips, Ella murmured, "Chicken legs, roast duck, hairy crab, braised fish... Stop running!"

Samuel could not help but laugh. A true food lover with a sensitive nose. The food she was mentioning was exactly what the nurse had brought.

He gently held her flailing hands and kissed them. Then she gradually opened her eyes.

"Roast ducks? Um... Samuel?"

Hearing Ella call him roast ducks, Samuel feigned displeasure, "Do I look like a duck?"

"Kind of. Both of you can give me an appetite." Ella smiled and winked, disarming Samuel at once.

He bent closer to her ear and whispered, "I think we can get your appetite satiated well enough when you get home.

You can have me however you want."

Grabbing his hands, Ella rubbed her eyes and said with a serious undertone to her voice, "Then I'll tie you up and take my time."

Tie me up? Samuel raised his thick eyebrows and looked at the extremely composed girl. He finally felt that he had taught her well.

"Well, then we should buy some candles or whips when you leave the hospital." He was absolutely all for it.

Ella finally flushed, and tried to pinch Samuel. She was about to say something, when Melody's inquiring voice interrupted her.

"Sam, what are the candles for?" Melody heard them talking about candles when she walked out of the restroom, but she didn't clearly hear the beginning parts of the conversation.

Samuel gave her a mysterious smile, saying, "Grandma, an old lady will live longer if she concerned herself with less. You should eat your lunch."

"Oh!" Samuel helped his confused grandma sit on the sofa and gave her a bowl of food and chopsticks. Then he returned to sit by Ella. 00000
