Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire

Chapter 161

Letta's eyes lit up as she looked at the package addressed to her. In contrast, Marco's gaze turned sharp, seemingly indicating that Pedro knew about it from the look on his master's face. "Who accompanied it?" Pedro asked.

"Sorry, we received it from someone at the hospital. The staff said it was meant for the lady's room," the guard replied, prompting Pedro to approach. He then took the greeting card attached to the bouquet. Pedro opened it, and as usual, it was just a message without any sender's name, causing Pedro to walk straight to Marco and hand it to him. It was then that Marco clenched his jaw, crushing the greeting card, causing Letta to touch her husband's wrist.

"Could this be from the same sender who always sends items to our house?" Letta asked, causing Marco to try to contain his emotions and let out a long breath.

"Seems like it," Marco replied.

"Doesn't that mean he also knows that we're not at home and we're in Chicago?" Letta said, making Marco nod his head again, which, for some reason, made a sense of fear resurface within Letta. Letta immediately grasped her husband's wrist, looking at him with fear, as if what she had just experienced with Marco might happen again and would always make her feel afraid.

"Relax, I won't let anyone else dare to approach and endanger you, including this person we haven't been able to capture yet," Marco said again.

"Pedro, check the CCTV around the hospital, and then dispose of all these gifts," Marco said, making Pedro nod his head, then immediately move to perform the task assigned by Marco. After that, Marco immediately shifted his gaze to the silent Letta. Then, he reached for her shoulder and hugged her.

"Don't be afraid, I won't let anyone disturb us now. He's just a coward playing behind our backs. Don't worry, Pedro will find him as soon as possible," Marco said, trying to calm Letta, making her nod her head. Letta believed deeply in all the promises Marco made. But of course, sometimes God has other plans, as they had just experienced. No matter how strong Marco fortified his defenses, if God had ordained that they would face those villains, it would not be difficult for outsiders to breach the strong defense line that Marco had built.

"Relax," Marco said again, sensing Letta's body trembling even more.

"Don't you trust me?" Marco asked again, reaching for Letta's face, causing Letta to meet his gaze. Marco could see Letta's face beginning to well up with tears.

"Do you trust me to protect you?" Marco asked, making Letta fall silent before she could only lower her face.

"What if God has other plans? What if God really wants to separate us, as has happened before? I don't want you to be hurt like this again. I don't want you to keep sacrificing yourself just for my safety," Letta said, making Marco clench his jaw.

"Then what should I do? Should I just stand idly by when I see my wife in danger?" Marco asked, making Letta fall silent.

"It's me who dragged you into this danger. Many people hate me and eventually target you as their aim, as Lemos did. He knew that you are a precious woman in my life. That's why he used you to threaten me. He knew that I wouldn't budge when it came to your life," Marco explained.

"Does my presence burden you? Does having me and our child become a difficulty?" Letta asked, making Marco shake his head.

"Such thoughts are certainly not true, because this is my destiny. Your presence has become my destiny to protect you. So never think like that. I might not even be able to survive without you and our baby. So please, continue to stay by my side, to accompany me in any situation. Only you are my strength right now, as you feared when I saw you unconscious. The fear is much greater when I know that I couldn't possibly protect you or hear you drift away from me, hearing you being lost from me makes me feel suffocated," Marco said, making Letta cry even more as Marco pulled her into his embrace.

"So from now on, stay by my side, no matter what happens. But you must be sure that I won't let any danger threaten us," Marco said, making Letta nod in his embrace.

"I'm sorry for thinking too much," Letta said, making Marco shake his head. Marco then loosened his embrace, wiping away the traces of tears on his wife's face. However, his movement halted when he saw a red mark on Letta's neck, which seemed to pull Marco back to the moment when Lemos had touched her.

"Are there any parts of your body that feel sore?" Marco asked, making Letta shake her head, but the next moment, Marco immediately pulled the clothes Letta was wearing, then pushed aside the hair covering her neck. There, several red marks were clearly visible.

"Is this the mark left by that scoundrel who touched you recklessly?" Marco asked, making Letta flinch slightly, as she had ignored the fact that Lemos had tried to touch her, making her feel nauseous.

"Let's not talk about it. I really feel disgusted with my own body when I imagine that old man touching me so recklessly," Letta said, making Marco gaze at his wife in an incomprehensible manner.

"I even feel ashamed in front of you now, that there is another man who has touched my body besides you," Letta said again, finding it difficult to accept the fact, especially if Lemos may have done more than that. Fortunately, at that moment, Pedro arrived, so Lemos didn't do anything further to her. But still, Letta felt the warm breath that felt scorching on her skin, making her stomach react and churn violently, making her want to vomit right then and there.

"It's so disgusting. I feel disgusting that my body has been touched by that man," Letta said again, making Marco look back at the red marks.

"Where else did he leave this damn mark?" Marco asked, then made Letta unbutton her still attached shirt, slowly opening it. At this point, Marco could clearly see Letta's upper body. Not only were there marks on her neck, but there were also some on her shoulders and around her chest. Although the number was not as many as Marco had seen before, it still made Letta feel like her body was very filthy. Even when Lemos just touched the tip of her hair, Letta already felt disgusted, let alone with him leaving these red marks on her smooth skin. The same went for Marco, who looked at the red marks with widened eyes.

Marco didn't realize that Lemos had truly left them on his wife's body. Marco thought he had just touched her, but it turned out that the old man had truly marked his wife, until Marco finally reached out, gripping Letta's neck quite tightly, as if something was boiling inside him. Marco's body even felt hot, whether it was restraining anger or the feeling of wanting to kill someone like Lemos. Letta couldn't help but notice when she saw her husband's sharp gaze, trembling body, and could only look at Marco with a heavy breath.
