Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire

Chapter 117

Marco gazed at Letta, who was leaning on his shoulder. They were in the car on their way home after Letta insisted on staying silent for a while in the park.

"Why?" Marco asked, reaching out his hand to gently stroke Letta's face, prompting Letta to finally look up at her husband.

"No, I'm just thinking," Letta said, causing Marco to furrow his brow. Letta then leaned her head back again, and Marco gently stroked the top of his wife's head.

"I'm scared," Letta said, causing Marco to stop his hand movement.

"What are you afraid of? Is someone bothering you, or is something troubling your mind?" Marco asked, making Letta nod.

"There's something troubling my mind," Letta said, making Marco feel a sense of unease. Each word Letta wanted to say seemed to instill a sense of fear in Marco. He was afraid that one day her memories would slowly start to resurface, becoming a time bomb for her.

"After meeting Celine earlier, I've been thinking a lot," Letta said, making Marco fall silent as he listened carefully to what Letta was about to tell him.

"I'm afraid I won't be a good mother to our child," Letta said, then looking up at Marco, who remained silent.

"Even though you said I would be the best mother for your children, I still feel like I'm not a perfect woman. Especially with my current condition, I can't even keep some of my memories of us and just forget them. I don't know why, but I feel guilty," Letta said, making Marco let out a long sigh.

How could Letta come to think that she was losing some of her memories? It was her way of coping. It was the best path for her to forget all the pain, bitterness, and all the wounds that Marco had inflicted on her. "Doesn't God always give good destinies to His creatures?" Marco said, making Letta fall silent.

"Perhaps with God taking away your memories, it's so He can give you even more beautiful memories than you've ever had," Marco said, making Letta fall silent, as if digesting every word Marco uttered to her. "Is that true?" Letta asked, making Marco nod. Marco then embraced Letta's shoulder and hugged her tightly.

"Consider every happiness you are experiencing now as a redemption from God, because He has taken some of your memories. So, you must accept it. You don't need to remember anything, because the most important thing is that I will always be by your side, and I will make you happy. I will give you whatever you want, and I will continue to protect you from anything that scares you," Marco said, leaving Letta unable to do anything but smile at her husband's words. The anxiety she had been feeling seemed to dissipate instantly. Although Letta still felt that those feelings might resurface in her heart at times, she then gently caressed her round belly.

"I hope she will receive an abundance of happiness as you said," Letta said, causing Marco to place his large hand on top of Letta's hand, which was now caressing her round belly.

"Of course, she will always receive an abundance of happiness from us," Marco said, making Letta finally look up and smile.

"Yes, I hope so. Earlier, when I saw Celine's tears, I felt something wrenching, especially when I saw the tears flowing from our daughter," Letta said, causing Marco to shake his head again.

"I will not let tears of sadness fall past her eyelids, whether it's for our daughter or for you," Marco said, causing Letta to draw closer to him and embrace her husband.

"I'm grateful that I feel relieved now because if you weren't by my side, I might have become someone miserable and alone without you," Letta said, causing Marco to fall silent for a moment before returning his wife's smile. As Letta had said, Marco also felt very happy. Imagining how Letta used to look at him with only hatred in her eyes, it felt like someone was stabbing something into his chest. It felt like someone was stopping his breath, leaving Marco speechless. Would that time bomb really explode without his realization, with Letta now experiencing memory loss? Would those bad memories come back to him at some point, Marco wondered, feeling that he had to do something to keep Letta like this, to ensure that Letta continued to look at him with love, and that Letta always reciprocated his expressions of love."

Eventually, they arrived in front of Marco's house, where Marco promptly opened the door for Letta to step out of the luxurious car.

"Rest up," Marco said, causing Letta to furrow her brow.

"Are you going somewhere?" Letta asked, prompting Marco to extend his hand and gently stroke Letta's face.

"I suddenly have some business. But I promise it won't take long. I'll be back right after," Marco said, causing Letta to immediately put on a sad face.

"Even today, I really wanted to spend time with you. Is it that important?" Letta asked, making Marco nod.

"Yes, it is. Though nothing is more important than you, I have to do something to make sure this important thing doesn't slip away from me," Marco said, touching Letta's high nose tip, making them both smile before nodding in agreement. "But you promise you won't be too long," Letta said, making Marco nod again.

"Alright, then should I escort you inside?" Marco asked, to which Letta shook her head.

"No need, I can manage on my own. Just be careful on the road, and remember to come back soon," Letta said, making Marco nod.

"Of course, you need to rest immediately," Marco said. After that, he got back into the car. Marco lowered the window halfway before waving to Letta. Letta watched the car depart until it disappeared behind the tall gate far ahead. After that, Letta stepped inside and looked around. Several servants passed by, prompting Letta to decide to wander around the house she inhabited. Until she crossed paths with Desi.

"Madam,” Desi said with a nod, making Letta smile.

"Are you busy?" Letta asked, causing Desi to shake her head.

"Do you need my assistance, Madam?" Desi asked in return, making Letta nod.

"Earlier, Marco wanted me to rest, but it seems I won't be resting immediately. I'm bored inside the house, so can you accompany me? I want to stroll around here," Letta said, making Desi nod.

"Of course, Madam," Desi said. This finally prompted Letta to stroll around the large house. She headed towards the garden on the side of the house. The garden was adorned with various ornamental plants and flowers, with a swimming pool right next to it, coinciding with Marco's usual spot for working out. This made Letta smile.

"Does Marco indeed enjoy sports?" Letta asked, causing Desi to nod.

"Yes, the master always exercises or swims regularly every morning,” Desi said, making Letta nod before she halted her steps as her gaze wandered into the distance.

"Isn't this garden spacious, as large as the house itself?" Letta said, making Desi nod.

"And behind the house, is there also a garden?" Letta asked, pointing far ahead, causing Desi to startle.

"No, Madam. There's only an untended garden back there. So, I suggest you not go there because there are still many bushes that haven't been cleared," Desi said, leaving Letta silent as she gazed into the distance.
