Thrown Away

Chapter 5

Myles woke up panicked, he had no idea where his sister was or where his nephew was. He had been to late to save her and he blamed himself. He should of protected her like he promised and he had let her down just like everyone else in her life. Myles ripped out the cannula that was hanging from his arm and sat up. His head was foggy and his mouth was dry. He tried to shake the fog away but it only made the room spin more.

"Calm down Myles, it's Aunt Sally. I got her, Finn is alive" Sally whispered putting her hand on her nephews shoulder. She too felt guilty for not being able to protect her niece. She didn't realise it was this bad for the girl. "Jai" Myles croaked out. Myles needed to know if Jai was ok too.

Jai wailed, he was scared a man screaming had resulted in pain for him. Myles sighed, the baby screaming was one of the best sounds he had ever heard, even if it cause excruciating pain to erupt in his head. "He is hurt but ok. He is a fighter like his mum is" Sally whispered.

Sally had spent the night watching over her niece. She used the breast pump every three hours pumping milk to dump out. Sally knew her niece wanted to breast feed and was thankful there was milk in her freezer which would last Jai about two days. Hopefully by then Finn would be awake and could make the decision on what formula she wanted because with the pain meds that Finn would need, she wouldn't be able to breast feed at all.

Jarrod jumped up when he heard his son scream. He needed to get into that room and help take care of his boy. The members of Tex's club had taken shifts to stand at the door guarding it. The others would sit in the bar and get an hour or so shut eye at a time, wanting to be alert. They would kill for Finn if they had to and didn't care if it started a war or not. Jarrod's members also stayed in the bar wanting to know how Finn and the baby were going. This was the future of the club.

Tex had joined Sally in the room to check on his niece and was horrified at what he saw. His niece looked like a completely different person. The once small girl who would of been no taller then 5ft 4 and weighing 55 kilos at most when sopping wet, was swollen beyond recognition. Her once milky white skin that had a splattering of freckles across her nose, was black, blue, purple and red. Her blonde hair was red and brown with the blood she had lost from the cuts on her head. He couldn't even see her beautiful hazel eyes that use to sparkle with joy even if she woke up because her eyes were swollen shut. Sally had spent most of the night using cold cloths on her face in hopes to reduce the swelling.

"Oh god Sal, is she going to be ok? Is my

Princess going to be ok?" Tex asked. He had tears gathering in his eyes and didn't even want to hold the girls hand incase he hurt the poor thing. "She is a fighter Tex, she has to be ok. She will be ok for her son. She fought for that boy so she won't leave him" Sally whispered comforting Tex as much as she was comforting herself. Tex just nodded and sat next to Finn he wanted so much to hold her hand, but even that was a shade of purple he didn't know existed.

When Myles could move he got off the bed wanting to be with his sister. He stumbled over to the other bed which held a tiny human, he assumed it was his sister and in that hospital like bed she looked so small even though she was swollen. "Oh god Finn, what did they do?" Myles whispered. She had looked bad last night but now she looked much worse then before.

"Myles, she is going to need us. They both will need all of us. It's time for you to come and learn the ropes of my club. This place isn't good for either of you. And don't you dare blame yourself for what they did. You stayed to try and protect her, but they would of done much worse if you hadn't stopped them" Tex stated. He saw the look in his nephews eyes and knew the dark path he was walking.

Myles was always going to take over his uncles club, but when his mother died and his father turned on his sister, he had told his uncle that there was no way he could leave Finn on her own. He stayed at the snipers to protect her and he had until about 8 months ago. It had been 8 months of hell for him watching the club he grew up in hurt his little sister. He ran interference as much as he could, but there were times Finn still got hurt and this time was the worst.

"As soon as she wakes, I'll announce it and burn this cut and then we are gone" Myles stated ripping the cut from his arm. "It will be a while, she has a lot of drugs in her system" Sally told him. "Wean her off it. She will want to feed Jai" Myles stayed with conviction. He knew all about Finn refusing to use the bottle. There was a week she cried to him because she had a case of mastitis and still had to feed or pump through the pain. He had begged her to let her milk dry up so the pain would stop, but she had refused saying she was going to feed her son no matter the pain.

"Son, she will be in pain if Sally stops the meds" Tex explained gently. Myles just shook his head. "She wouldn't want this. She would want to feed Jai. Take her off the meds and ask her. She fought me on this 2 weeks ago when she had mastitis. I brought that stupid pump so she could pump and I watched her sob through the pain. She would want this" Myles stated. Sally just nodded, she had watched her niece when Myles had needed to head back to the club. Sally began to take the morphine drip off Finn and quietly apologised to the girl. She knew the pain she would be in but all she could give us panadol.
