Chapter 28 Drugged

Chapter 28 Drugged

Sally pricked up her ears.

“You…” the man said again. “If I hadn’t called you, would you have avoided me forever?”

Sally felt a chill down her spine.

That voice… It sounded just like the kidnapper who took Andy.

Mary laughed, “John, what are you talking about? How could I be avoiding you? I’ve just been too busy to meet up

They both laughed flirtatiously.

Sally was furious.

She had suspected Mary hired someone to kidnap Andy!

But she never imagined Mary would be so cruel as to want Andy dead!

Thinking of her innocent dead child, Sally’s heart filled with grief.

Sally wanted to record the conversation, but realized her phone was dead.

She had forgotten to charge it before leaving home.

Sally sighed and walked away.

Her main goal now was to find Daniel.

She had to understand why Daniel lost his memory!

Back in the hall, she still couldn’t find Daniel. Frustrated, she found a corner to sit in.

Remembering she hadn’t eaten before leaving, Sally grabbed some pastries from a nearby table.

Meanwhile, Mary returned from the corridor.

She intended to rejoin Anders but noticed Sally sitting in a corner.

Mary suppressed her irritation and, with a sweet and composed smile, went to Anders’s side.

Anders was chatting with some business partners. Seeing Mary return, he casually asked, “Where were you for so long?”

Mary laughed lightly, “I saw my sister on the way and stopped to chat.”

Anders frowned, “She’s here too?”

Mary noticed Anders’s expression and felt uneasy.

Recalling what the bodyguard said earlier about Anders pleading with Sally, Mary was displeased.

Could Anders still have feelings for Sally?

Mary couldn’t bear the thought.

She glanced at Sally sitting not far away

and came up with a malicious idea.

At that moment, Anders noticed Sally too.

Mary smiled, “Anders, sister is also at the charity gala tonight. Do you want to go say hi?”

Anders quickly looked away, “No need.”

The more indifferent Anders appeared, the more unhappy Mary felt.

She sensed the disappointment in Anders’s words.

Suppressing her anger, Mary stood up and said, “I need to use the restroom.”

Anders nodded.

After finishing her pastries and seeing no sign of Daniel, Sally decided to ask someone for help.

Taking out some cash from her purse, she approached a waiter.

“Excuse me, can I ask you something?” Sally smiled.

The waiter paused, noting her beauty, and smiled back, “Of course, miss. How can I help you?”

Sally asked, “I need to know if Mr. Daniel is attending tonight’s gala.”

The waiter nodded, “Yes, he is.”

“Where is he now?” Sally’s eyes lit up.

“Well… The waiter hesitated.

Sally discreetly slipped the cash into his hand, “I have something important to discuss with Mr. Daniel. Could you tell me which room he’s in?”

The waiter smiled, “Mr. Daniel is in room 201 upstairs.

Sally thanked him.

After the waiter left, Sally headed upstairs.

moving

Mary, ster, had already taken action.

She poured warm water into a glass, added two pills, and had a waiter deliver it to room 201.

Noticing Sally heading upstairs, Mary quickly hid.

Watching Sally knock on room 201’s door, Mary smirked maliciously.

She wanted to see Anders’s reaction if he caught Sally and Daniel together.

Sally nervously knocked on room 201’s door. After a moment, it opened.

Daniel, expecting Mia, frowned upon seeing Sally.

“You again? How did you know I was here?” Daniel asked, annoyed.

Sally forced a smile, “Daniel, I have something important to tell you.”

Daniel scoffed and tried to close the door.

Sally quickly blocked it.

“Daniell” Sally’s voice was urgent, “Please, hear me out. It’s really important!”

Daniel looked at her with disdain, “What do you want? Just say it.”

Sally took a deep breath, “Did you get sick and hospitalized recently? Did you lose your memory?”

Daniel was surprised but displeased by her question.

“This is my business,” Daniel said coldly. “Why are you prying into my life?

Sally hurriedly explained, “No… I’m not! Daniel, I know a lot about your past… We were once held captive together, and Andy lived with us…”

“Enough!” Daniel interrupted sternly. “What are you trying to say? I did lose part of my memory, but…”

Daniel looked her up and down and sneered, “What does that have to do with you? Why are you meddling? Don’t you realize you come off as a self–righteous busybody?”

Sally’s heart bled at his harsh words.

But she knew she couldn’t afford to cry now.

“Daniel, I know you have many misunderstandings about me… But I have something very important to tell

I you.” Sally’s voice trembled.

Daniel frowned, “What do you want?”

Sally said sadly, “My son is dead. You used to love reading and writing with Andy… Daniel, please, can you visit Andy’s grave? Just to say goodbye…”

Daniel was impatient, “You’re ridiculous. Do I know you well? And I don’t know any Andy! Get out! My only love is Mia, angel! Do you hear me?”

Sally, heartbroken, said, “Daniel, I am angel! I am angel How can you forget me? How can you forget me…” Daniel looked at her, exasperated.

He tried to close the door, but then his expression changed.
