The Unloved Mate

Damien’s pov.

“What the hell is going on!?”

I was completely horrified by the view in front of me. My sister and my friend! This is unacceptable!

Both of them sprang apart. Both breathing heavily, lips swollen and hair messy. If i were anymore late, i don’t know what they would have done. Ugh! I don’t even wanna think about that.

I felt a soft, small hand on my arms and i relaxed a little. Little.

I am still furious.

“If you don’t want me to kill someone tonight, then explain what is going on!” I yelled.

Both had same terrified expression. Adam opened his mouth to say something, but Nina beat him to it. And the words that came out left me speechless.

“He’s my mate Damien. We are each others second chance, like you are Isa’s.”

I don’t know what to reply to that. Nina found her mate a on her birthday, 6 months from today. When she turned 16. Just like Adam, she found her mate quiet early.

He was the chef of the pack house. He was a good match for her, though they were completely opposite, they balanced each other. But one day the rogues had attacked, and he died, saving Nina. It had taken her quite some time to be back to her normal self again, but she did. And now this.

I din’t say anything and sat on a couch, my face emotionless. I felt bella sit next to me, i pulled her on my lap and inhaled her scent. Honey and cinnamon. I calmed down a bit.

I finally came to my senses​.

“When?” I asked

Adam sighed “today i came to the howlers pack to meet the alpha, he needed our help for something. For some odd reason, he told me to come from the forest side. When i reached, i felt my wolf howl and a sense of happiness bloomed inside me. Then i saw Nina coming from inside the house and i knew she was my second chance. And i was the one she was speaking to. When you saw us.” He finished and Nina continued her part.

“I was really restless that morning, so i thought of going for a run. Then i saw Adam coming from the forest, and like he described, i knew he was my second chance. He tried to convince me to accept him, but i was not sure, after all you and Adam don’t get along. So i told him I’ll think about it and left.”

I closed my eyes and sighed. I looked at bella. Just looking at her face calms me down. She ran her fingers through my hair and i g*****d.

“Ok then, what can i do when you two were destined to be together. Now that i have found my mate too, i know how it feels.” Both of them had a smile on their faces. Then i turned to Adam “but if you hurt my baby sister in any way. I will cause some serious damage”

He chuckled nervously and nodded. Then my eyes landed on a dead-looking Nate. Seriously, this guy sleeps like a log. Right now the world could be ending and he would still be found sleeping. I shook my head and chuckled.

“Continue what you were doing. We are going to sleep.” I said and picked up bella in my arms. She squealed but dint protest. I still remember my room, in the manor. Second floor, third room.

I opened the door and as expected, the room was the way i left it. Plain blue walls, white furniture and a golden frame on top of my bed. I always wanted to have a big picture of me and my mate togeather, so i brought the frame. I can finally fill it. It won’t be empty anymore.

I closed the door with my leg and placed bella on her feet. She looked around the room and smiled. I guess she liked the room.

“Is this your room?” She asked and i nodded. “It’s really beautiful”

“Um hmm”

There was a knock on the door and i opened it while bella made herself comfortable on the bed.

Nina was standing there smiling.

“What you want?” I asked and raised an eyebrow. She made a sour face and stuck her tounge out.

“I came here to give you some of Adams pajamas. And also i brought Isa some clothes before coming here. Bye” she huffed and handed me two small bags before turning on her heels.

“Who is it?” Bella asked. I turned around and closed the door.

“Nina brought some clothes for you before coming here, and some of Adams clothes for me.” I gave her the bag and she smiled.

I kissed her forehead and told her to change in the bathroom and i will change here.

I stripped off and wore Adams clothes. They were quiet comfortable. Then bella came out of the bathroom. In short shorts and crop top. She looked heavenly!

She sniffed the air a little and frowned. Then she looked at me and her lips formed into an ‘o’

“What happened baby? Any problem?” I asked, she just came to me and took hold of the t-shirt I’m wearing and sniffed it. I frowned. What is she doing?

“Baby what are you doing?” I asked her. Her nosed scrunched up in an adorable manner and i almost ‘awed’

“Who’s clothes are these?” She asked, ignoring my questions.

“Adam” i replied. She just shook her head and said “don’t wear it. I doesn’t smell like you.” God, kill me now! She’s so cute and innocent!

“You’r wish is my command, your highness!” I did a little bow and she giggled.

I decided to sleep in my boxers tonight, since my bella doesn’t want me to wear Adams clothes.

I stripped off to my boxers and saw bella covering her eyes. Oh god, what am i gonna do with her. I mentally chuckled. I slowly removed her hand from her eyes and kissed her cheeks.

“Baby, if you feel uncomfortable, then tell me. I will sleep in my clothes then. Okay. It’s no problem at all.” I said and she shook her head.

“No, it’s ok. It’s just that I’ve never seen a man so n***d before.” She said quitely, looking at my face, as if avoiding to look down.

“Ok then, let’s go to sleep ok. We leave tomorrow morning. We can have breakfast on the way to your pack.” I said and helped her under the covers. It looked as if she’s drowning​ in the covers. I kissed her nose lightly and laid down on the other side. Switching off the lamps, i turned around to face bella and wrapped an arm around her small waist.

“Damien?”

“Hmm” i mumbled, my eyes closed.

“Where are we?” She asked. I opened my eyes and felt her turn around to face me. I brushed some hair off her face.

“This is the mansion, our parents gave to me Adam and Nate, when we were young. It is like out head quarters. We hanged out here, most of the time of our lives we spend here.” I explained and felt her nod.

“Goodnight Damien.”

A smile formed on my lips and i kissed her forehead once again.
