The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 296

Chapter 296

Noelle had never imagined that returning to Nivis Villa would look like this. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say, on the day she left; she hadn't thought she would ever come back at all.

It seemed Hendrix had dismissed all the maids, as the villa was completely dark when they entered. Hendrix led Noelle directly upstairs to the master bedroom. The furnishings inside seemed to have changed, but before Noelle could take in what was different, Hendrix had already pushed her onto the bed.

He hadn't spoken a single word the entire way, though his face remained clouded with anger. Now, his actions were devoid of any gentleness. But Noelle had expected this, so she wasn't surprised in the slightest.

She didn't resist either and simply lay there expressionlessly.

Her unresponsive demeanor must have provoked Hendrix's dissatisfaction, because the next instant, he lowered his head and sank his teeth into her neck.

He bit hard so hard that Noelle could feel his teeth breaking her skin, followed by the warm trickle of blood seeping out.

A hiss of pain escaped her lips, and she instinctively raised her hand and slapped him across the face.

She didn't hold back at all. All the anger and frustration that had built up over the past few days were unleashed in that single slap, landing squarely on Hendrix's face.

A bright red handprint instantly appeared on his tanned cheek. Even Noelle couldn't help but feel she might have gone too far. After all, he had to go to the office tomorrow, and walking in with a mark like that on his face would undoubtedly make him the center of attention.

But Hendrix didn't seem to care. In fact, he almost seemed pleased. When Noelle's slap landed, he even let out a soft chuckle.

His reaction caught Noelle off guard. Then, without hesitation, she spat, "You're insane!"

Hendrix didn't respond, seemingly indifferent to her words His actions toward her grew noticeably gentler.

It was this unexpected tenderness that Noelle found the hardest to accept.

"Bastard..." She tried cursing, but the words came out drenched in unintended allure.

Not only did Hendrix notice, but Noelle did, too. So, she clamped her mouth shut and bit down hard on her lip. But her body betrayed her faster than her will could resist.

In that moment, Noelle truly hated herself.

Of course, her anger was even more directed at the man beside her. Yet, when Hendrix lifted his head, she immediately turned her gaze away she didn't even want to look at him.

Hendrix didn't seem to mind. He simply withdrew his hand grabbed a tissue from nearby, and casually wiped his fingers before scooping her up entirely.

Noelle had assumed he would continue. After all, the heat radiating from him was still palpable.

But he didn't. Instead, after carefully cleaning her up, he placed her back on the bed. Then, without a word, he turned and walked into the bathroom.

Throughout it all, he didn't say a single word.

Noelle kept her eyes shut, only opening them once his footsteps faded into the distance. #25 BONUS

Chapter 296

She was the only one left in the room.

The scene wasn't unfamiliar to her.

In the past, he had always cared solely about his own satisfaction in bed. As long as he got what he wanted, her feelings had never mattered. After everything was over, he would head to the bathroom without a word, leaving Noelle to drag her trembling legs back to the room at the end of the hallway. But tonight, everything about this room seemed to have been turned upside down. Yet, Noelle felt little emotion about it.

It was as if Hendrix had ignored her repeatedly at the moments she needed support and care the most. To make matters worse, he even trampled over her time and time again as he walked past.
