Chapter Chapter Thirty-Eight: Fluff, Puff, and a Surprise
Malachi’s POV
“Malachi?”
“Malachi, babe? Come back to us.”
“Poor babe. This stress of haters has gotten him tired.”
Letting out a soft groan, my eyes fluttered open to see that I was back home and in my bedroom with all thirteen of my mates surrounding me with relief in their eyes as the Yanez family was starting to come into the room with Yesenia bringing me a cup of tea. “Ah, jeez,” I mumbled, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. “I totally got the chop- the chop-arooni, ‘El Chop-arillo.’ How long was I out?”
“Only three hours,” Ian replied as he sat up on the right side of my bed as Ivan took the left. “The Queens of the Supernatural was there to make sure you got some rest while we were tearing new ones into Fern and her group. They had to leave, but Firella and Chai promised to call you as soon as tomorrow.”
“Thank Goddess for that,” I breathed. “Hey, what happened to Fern the Fury-Eyed Frump?”
“The Moon Goddess was pissed off to no end the more than Beta werecat continued to open her big fat mouth,” Olodom commented as he took the foot of the bed and started to rub my feet. “She even went as far as to question Her sovereignty- and you know that didn’t sit well with anyone who knew not to do that.”
“I bet. Please tell me that she finally got done in.”
“She did, babe. The moment that Fern called the Moon Goddess an idiot was when she wrote a check that she was unable to cash,” Galen replied as I accepted the cup of tea from Yesenia. “Long story short, she’s basically in hell for her crimes. Her supporters wisely kept their mouths shut, but they weren’t spared either. The students involved were expelled from school and became pariahs in their families. The teachers got laid off and were banned from teaching at any school in Denver with their credibility now shot and soiled.”
“What about the other kids at Bethune Memorial?” I wanted to know, pausing to take a sip of the calming lavender tea. “I mean, I know that most of the school weren’t too keen on what Wilton had said and I know that they believed.”
“Be at ease, bro,” Paulo assured me. “I talked to some of the Alphas from the soccer team and they all agreed with you. Even more so, given the fact that you went beast-mode on Wilton and told her off. They knew that you weren’t to be played with at all. I mean, I know I wouldn’t dare since we’re godbrothers.”
“As you should,” replied Armando. “And the young Omegas that were crying as that brat continued to diss them and humiliated you were assured by Vinzera, Enya, and Aurora that they are the pillars of the supernatural community. Hell, most of those kids look up to you since you showed your power.”
“Well, I know that I can hold my own,” I agreed. “But a part of me still felt like a fool for not trying too hard to own my greatness. I mean, I know I could’ve at least tried to-”
Olodom silenced me with his lips branding onto mine, the kiss starting to get more sensual and passionate. Damn this demigod for having the ability to silence my rambling and yet make me feel like I’m floating on air.
As a matter of fact, all of my mates can do that.
“Don’t ever let me hear you doubt yourself, love,” the sensual-eyed demigod admonished me as he let Damien begin to massage my neck and shoulders. “You are the most courageous and the most powerful mate that I and all my other mates are lucky to have.”
“Damn right,” Nathaniel agreed. “Babe, the moment we saw you show off your grace as Amon-Re was when I knew that you’re the one that my mates and I knew would be the missing link to our circle- the one that we have been waiting for for our entire life. Alyssa couldn’t fill the role even if we even felt something for her.”
“And like we said, love, we would never dare leave you even if we were pressured to reject you for someone else,” Aivox added, sending me a sensual smirk. “There are many Omegas- male and female- that would duel to the death to be in your shoes, but only you have held our hearts in your hands. You, Malachi Jean-Luc DuBauer, are one and only mate that we’ll ever love even until the end of time itself and beyond that.”
My supernatural halves were silent yet they were so touched at our mates’ words. I lowered my head in submission. “My Alphas,” I said quietly. “My Alphas.”
“Our Omega,” Olodom growled seductively, tilting my head up so our eyes met. “Our sweet Omega. Would you like one of us to make you forget those nasty words with our kisses?”
“Yes,” I breathed.
And immediately, my lips were branded by Olodom’s once more, our kisses deepening as I rubbed my hands across his sweater-clad chest with fervent heat and desire.
“Damn, that’s so fucking hot,” Isaiah moaned, making a beeline for Vincent as the two of them also started to make out.
Soon, Yavier found himself in a steamy three-way makeout with Galen and Veronique while Nathaniel took Aivox and Cyler as Ivan was lost in the bliss with Damien and Ian.
“Ah, to be newly mated,” Yesenia crooned, cuddling in her husband’s arms.
Paulo rolled his eyes. “Oh, brother,” he drawled. “I’m trapped in a lovefest with my godbrother and his mates all acting sensual. I think I’m going to be sick.”
I broke away from Olodom briefly, sending him an apologetic smile. “Sorry,” I said. “But you’ll find your mate soon, Pauly. I know you will.”
My godbrother smiled. “I know,” he replied. To his parents, “Let’s leave the lovebirds alone, Mom and Dad. Heavens know that Malachi needs time with his mates.”
“Right,” Yesenia agreed.
And as soon as the trio left, the throes of sensual seduction continued as tongues were dancing around each other and all my mates and I were soon ending up in a puppy pile. And in case you’re wondering, we didn’t have sex yet. But don’t worry, folks. That’s coming up soon, don’t worry.”
*****************
The next day, I strolled into my bedroom, fresh from a visit with a hellhound pack’s luncheon with Iain and Archer. Ready for my online classes as November was now in full swing, I was getting ready to turn on my computer when I heard a knock on the door. “Come in,” I hollered, expecting to see one of the maids with a snack on hand or maybe one of my brothers to check in on me. But as soon as I opened the door, I felt my heart stop briefly as I saw a despondent and contrite Dawson Howell dressed casually in jeans and a black Polo shirt.
Yikes!
“Can I come in?” he asked me just as I saw Raisha and Divinity race towards his side. “I’m not here to fight, I just want to talk. And it’s about my brother Ryker.”
I turned to the two warriors for help. “He comes in peace,” Divinity assured me, “but I’m sticking around.”
“So will I,” replied Raisha. To Dawson, “You try anything, wolf, and it’s over for you.”
Dawson nodded as he turned back to me. “I just want to talk,” he said.
I only nodded. “Come in,” I replied.
Oh, boy. Looks like things are getting serious, folks. You better get something to drink and eat because I have a feeling that this is going to be gag-worthy.
