Chapter 24
My eyes had suddenly fluttered open as I felt something staring at me. I blinked a few times and saw Ariel which I had plopped up fully guarded. “Hey, sorry to wake you. I was hoping we could talk.” She said. I sat down just rubbing my eyes. “If you’re going to slap me again just know I will hit back.” Yawning before taking the blanket and folding it. “I want to apologize for my outburst last night. I was mad and I took it out on you when it wasn’t your fault. It’s not every day your mate rejects you.” She stood there rubbing her arm awkwardly. “It’s fine. But where we’re from we are not allowed to reject so you’re fine. It’s just a long complicated history that is just a reason for his rejection. But just know I am not keeping you from him. He just has a fear of change after everything that has happened to us these past five years.” She nodded her head in agreeance. “We have a daughter Ariel. She’s been through a lot and that is his second reasoning as well. Don’t take it personally but he is dedicated to his family.” Once again agreeing. “I know. But I am still young and I think I never really thought it out. But listen, my mother is waiting for you. I thought you’d like some clothes and a shower before you do because you stink.” A smile spread across her face as she handed me some folded clothes. “Yeah, I really do.” Ariel led me upstairs to a room with a bathroom that I completely wanted to enjoy but couldn’t because there wasn’t any time. I needed her help and keeping her waiting was the last thing that I had to do. After washing and getting dressed I was met outside with Drew, Vincent, and Jack. Oh, look everyone I’ve slept with at arm’s length. “Come, I will bring you to her.” He led us to a third story of the building and into a library like that one in my dreams. When we walked in I was once again fascinated by her. So beautiful. I think the men saw that too before they snapped out of their thoughts.
“Athena Sadar. I was wondering if my vision was real or not.” Vanessa had walked over to me and grabbed hold of my hands. Is this where she is going to kiss me again? “I had this dream and I saw everything. I know why you’re here and yes I will help you. Clary is going down because I never liked that bitch.” We all broke out into laughter. At least I didn’t have to explain everything once again. “You have a question for me, so ask me.” I looked at her and then at the guys again. I inhaled deeply before I let it out. “Tale of two brothers.” Her eyes darted to me and then to the men. “Oh no, not you too.” The men were probably beyond confused. “I need to know.” I pleaded with her. “Does someone want to explain to me what you’re both talking about?” Vincent spoke up. “We already know the tale of two brothers.” Jack continued. I hesitated before I walked to face them. “There was a side of the story that people did know. The tale of two brothers never stated how she was seeing both brothers at the same time. As wolves, we can mate multiple times and have different fathers to more than one child. But only two known children had the DNA of 3 people. Involving two fathers.” Their faces went into a state of shock. Which is to be expected. “Are you saying there is a chance Ryn could be my daughter as well?” I nodded at him to confirm he was right. But he didn’t say anything further. The wheels in his head are probably frozen at this point which was funny to think about.
“There is only one way to be sure. You have the gold in your eyes Athena but I would like for your daughter Ryn to come here so I can see for myself.” Vanessa said. “I technically have two. My sister. She’s been in our care for a while now but she is Clary’s daughter.” If flabbergasted was a person it would be her. She held herself on the desk. “You’re telling me Clary’s daughter is alive?” I nodded again confused. “SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!” We were all taken back by her words. “What do you mean she is supposed to be dead?!” I asked. “Because I killed her!” I think even Drew was surprised at her comment. I mean she was a mere child.
