The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 937

Felix felt a chill ran down his spine when Billy said he was haunted.

"A master practitioner has cursed you," Billy explained between bites. "They're so skilled that I couldn't even sense it when you first walked in."

Felix checked himself but felt nothing unusual. "I feel fine, though. What kind of curse are we talking about?"

Instead of answering right away, Billy casually continued eating. "There are many types of curses, both in Dragonia and abroad. From what I can tell, this is the work of a foreign expert."

He paused to take another bite, then added, "These masters are especially dangerous. All they need is something you keep close to you, and they can attack you remotely. From the looks of it, they've already started."

Felix jumped up in alarm. "Stop joking around! I don't feel anything, and the Dragonspine isn't even reacting!"

Billy smirked. "That's because your soul is unusually strong. What's strange, though, is how much it's grown in such a short time. I mean, the thing inside your soul is impressive, but it shouldn't have boosted you this much in just a month.

Felix frowned, his mind racing. The only explanation he could think of was his recent encounter with Naomi. He asked hesitantly, "So, I'm not in danger?"

Billy shook his head. "Not yet, but this master is skilled. They're just getting started, and the curse will intensify."

Felix felt panic rising. "Come on! Give me a straight answer-can we fix this?"

He could not believe that Billy was still in the mood to eat, acting nonchalant just because it was not happening to him.

Unbothered by Felix's outburst, Billy calmly took another bite of food. "I've already located the caster. With your speed, you'll get there in no time. Relax-you've got time to finish a drink or two."

"Finish a drink? Are you kidding me?" After some heated argument, Felix got the address and rushed out of Floral Wreath Boutique.

As he approached the location, the eight Dragonspine pieces within him began to vibrate, warning of danger Felix burst into an apartment to find an elderly, tanned man kneeling on the floor, his eyes wide with shock at Felix's appearance.

He stammered, "Y-You're alive?"

The man could not believe it. After all, the curse had reached its final stage, and by normal standards, Felix should have been writhing in agony near death by now. Yet, here he stood.

Felix smirked. "Sorry to disappoint you. You've gone through all this trouble to kill me-now it's my turn to return the favor."

With swift action, Felix subdued the old man and forced him to confess. The Westerto Order had sent him to kill Felix, a continuation of Helena's incident. Their intelligence network was impressive-they had managed to track Felix down, even if it had taken some time.

Felix growled, "The Westerio Order? If only you'd come a few days earlier, I might've sent a little gift your

way."

Unfortunately, with his mission to

1.n

Martial City starting tomorrow, revenge would have to wait. There was some good news, though—this elder held a high position in the Westerlo Order, equivalent to a Scarlet Cardinal. His curses were so potent that he had even killed masters from Dragonia's Boneforging Realm.

This made Felix realize just how strong his soul had become-future soul-related attacks would likely be much easier to handle.

The next morning, Xena arrived to pick him up. Felix boarded the military plane, and the two sat in silence for the entire flight.

After over four hours in the air, the plane finally landed. Felix glanced out the window and saw nothing but rugged mountain ranges stretching in every direction. There was not a single sign of a city in sight.
