Chapter 40
Chapter 40 I’m Right Here With You
Tucker felt a little sorry, yet Valerie did not mind it at all.
She initiatively brought Tucker to David and took the room key.
“Valerie, I’m sorry.”
“Apology is unnecessary, Tucker. It’s not your fault. Why did you apologize? Moreover, I was the one who drew the lucky ball.”
Valerie reached out and gently patted Tucker on the back of his hand to comfort him.
“Tut–tut–tut, look at him. What a gentleman!”
“But, can she really live in the shabby house? If it were me, I couldn’t stand it.”
“It’s a problem whether Tucker can live in it or not, not to mention Valerie.”
“Ha–ha, I bet Valerie will be fine, but Tucker won’t be.”
“Don’t underestimate Tucker, please! He can live in any place as long as it’s not dirty.”
“Hey, what nonsense are you talking about? Sounds like you like living in a dirty place.”
Netizens were so fond of Valerie’s sensible appearance.
Tucker was also moved by what Valerie said. Even though he did not reveal it obviously, his action of hugging Valerie was
enough to prove how excited he was inwardly.
In the Fisher’s house, Galen, who was watching the variety show, fixed his eyes on Valerie without a blink, following every move
of Valerie.
When Tucker hugged Valerie, patting her on the shoulder, Galen stood up.
“Is this girl from the Horton family?”
Galen asked the butler beside him, with his eyes twinkling.
“Yes, Mr. Fisher. This is the eldest daughter of the Horton family. Her name is Valerie. She participated in the variety show with
Mr. Tucker this time.”
The butler respectfully stood aside, informing Galen seriously about it.
After getting the answer, Galen sat back again.
Watching his grandson hug Valerie, he felt his fingers itch.
“Send Tucker a message, asking him if he can bring the girl back with him when this variety show is over and he has time to go
home.”
The butler raised his eyebrow slightly.
He thought. “It seems that Mr. Fisher likes this girl.”
The Fisher family had no girl, but all boys.
Maybe the Fisher family was a little tired of seeing boys every day.
So, they gradually came up with the idea of having a girl.
This idea was even more intense on Galen.
He even promised to give the daughters–in–law of the Fisher family a big gift if any of them gave birth to a girl.
The daughters–in–law were so excited about it that they worked very hard with their husband for a baby girl every day...
As a result, Derek was born...
So Galen was about to give up.
But today, when Galen saw Valerie, his rock–solid–like heart was immediately shaken, trembling.
What attracted him was not only Valerie’s lovable and sensible character.
More importantly, it was the look in her eyes.
It was exactly the same as what Calvin had mentioned before...
The kid of the Horton family didn’t look simple at all.
This made Galen more curious.
After the butler said yes, he immediately turned to text Tucker a phone message as told by Galen and asked Tucker to reply
when he finished this episode livestream.
“Sir, I’ve informed Mr. Tucker as you told. Just wait for Mr. Tucker to receive and reply to it.”
Galen nodded. He continued to watch the variety show while having tea, and occasionally, like the netizens in the livestreaming
room, Galen gave a “like” by tapping the interface with his index finger.
When he felt tired, he would call the butler to continue to do it.

In the town, the four partners had all got their room keys. David began to assign them tasks.
“For the sake of your first time to come here, our production crew have to show kindness to you. So, today’s task is to spend this
week well with the initial capital of 30 dollars given by the crew, and at the end of the week, make sure to have the children learn
a skill. We will arrange a drama show for the children according to the skills you have taught them.”
Was the crew about making things difficult for them?
Was this what David said “show kindness for the sake of their first coming here“?
Thirty dollars a week was not a problem for common people to live for axveek.
However, the children needed supplemental nutrition and daily living expenses, as well as medical expenses in case they were
injured or caught a cold.
Thirty dollars?
It was far beyond enough.
And with these limited resources, they would have to teach the children a skill. How?
A drama show?
Did it mean that the children were going straight to musical theatre?
Sure enough, after David said that, the four adults‘ expressions all changed with a little confusion.
However, the top priority was to take the kids to their rooms respectively to rest well and do clean–up.
Then, everyone began to go to their homes according to the indicated addresses.
Tucker took the car arranged by the crew with Valerie, heading for the mud hut, followed by a car that Soren and Selina took.
The cars drove farther and farther, even away from the downtown, and began to gather on the edge of the district.
Valerie looked out of the window. Looking at the green plants outside, there was a trace of calmness in her heart inexplicably.
She opened the window and propped her elbows on the edge, just watching like that.
Tucker turned to look at Valerie and pulled her back.
Then he shut the car window up a little.
“It’s getting cold. You’ll catch a cold if you blow on like this.”
“Oh, gosh! he is so gentle.”
“Tucker finally begins to understand.”
“Tsk, tsk, I can see such a gentle Tucker in my lifetime!
“I will die without regret...”
“Well, I’m a little envious of Valerie. I wish to turn into Valerie right now.”
“Hey, be clear–minded.”
Female fans kept stomping their feet with excitement when they saw the new image of Tucker which they had never seen before.
Their faces were flushed with excitement.
The car was slowly moving forward. Soon, it arrived at the destination, an old district in a town.
It was very close to the edge of the countryside.
Soren got out of the car earlier with Selina and came to a slightly better residential area.
But the situation was not so good for Tucker and Valerie.
This mud hut looked even more shabby than that in the picture.
It looked a little skewed outside.
The facilities inside were the oldest ones.
And there was only a wooden bed, with the quilts neatly stacked on it
However, there were necessities in the house, and it had been cleaned up.
The owner of this house welcomed the guests in his or her own way.
It must be an old man or old woman who lived in a house like this.
The interior structure of the house also looked okay.
It was so much better than the shed Valerie lived in.
Valerie’s eyes lit up.
But Tucker’s eyes were dull.
Tucker thought, “How can we live here?
It doesn’t matter to me, for I can put up with it. But I don’t know how to cook or do laundry...
What to do?”
For the first time, Tucker felt confused and stressed.
He did not think of facing so many problems previously, and now these realistic problems were coming, which made Tucker feel
a certain pressure.
For a moment, he had no idea where to put the luggage in his hands.
