The Returning Ex Chapter 1446

Chapter 1446 Teaming Up
Or to be precise, she never thought she’d have a chance to play with Ian. Ian didn’t turn his mic on, and he didn’t like to talk, so
even though they were sitting side by side, he kept quiet throughout the match. However, Cindy was a different case. She kept
talking as she played.
“You can’t escape, archer. Have a taste of my hammer!”
Ian didn’t think much when he played, though he wanted to laugh every time Cindy talked.
Cindy was a different person when she played games. Usually, she had a professional feel to her, but she’d become a little girl
whenever she played games. Cindy didn’t realize that about herself, so she kept mumbling until the match had ended, then she
smiled. “We won.”
Ian smiled as well. “Easy game.”
Cindy couldn’t control herself, and she patted his shoulder. “You’re a decent player yourself.”
A smile curled his lips, but he didn’t say a word. Then, Cindy pulled her hand back, finally motivated to play. “Another match.
Let’s go.”
Ian had nothing to do, so he teamed up with her again. They kept playing until it was almost time for dinner, then Cindy put her
phone down and went to the kitchen. Ian, however, stayed back to play another match.
Cindy wanted to play as well, so she cooked even faster than usual. Apparently, she had forgotten about the news.
Having a distraction was a great way to forget about all the terrible memories. Cindy would dwell on it and get frustrated before
this, but now all she wanted to do was team up and have a match with Ian. Games were addictive, after all.
After she was done cooking and serving the food, Ian had also finished his match. He put his phone down and rolled his
shoulders. “Nice matches today.”
Cindy was setting the table up when she asked, “So you won, huh?”
“Yep. That I did. Let’s get back to it after dinner. I’ll carry you.”
“Sure!” Cindy was delighted to hear that.

They even talked about some of the better plays in both matches while they had dinner. Cindy was chatting happily and gushing
with excitement, just like how she was when she played. Ian looked at her with interest, and he suddenly smiled.
Cindy quickly said, “I know, right? You think so too, huh?”
Ian grunted, but he didn’t elaborate. After dinner, he took his phone and checked the news, only to see the company finally
releasing its statement. They talked briefly about the reason why Cindy and Linda clashed. Even the driver created an account to
make a simple retelling of the events that happened that day.
However, things like this were destined to be a bloody battle. Everyone had their own opinion, and they had no evidence, so the
truth was muddied.
Ian looked at the comments and realized it bolstered in size, but at least some were getting neutral. Linda’s image wasn’t all that
good, and some thought the company’s statement was closer to the truth. With how bad tempered Linda was, she would never
let anyone attack her assistant.
Ian had decided that he’d see if the company had any cameras when he went to work the next day. They might not have any in
the waiting room, but they probably had some in the corridor. Indeed, that meant the clash wasn’t recorded, but Ian thought he
might get some clues from the corridor’s footage.
After he made his plan, he logged into his game and beckoned at Cindy. “Come on. I’m waiting for you.”
Cindy put the bowls into the dishwasher, wiped her hands, and went over to him. Before this, they’d only watch TV if they had
nothing else to do, but now they finally had another hobby. Cindy even huddled closer to him so they could work better as a
team.
Ian looked at her game screen and said, “Do you have a lot of heroes? Why don’t you play support this time?”
Cindy said okay, and they started teaming up.
