The Returning Ex Chapter 1444

Chapter 1444 Discussion
She chuckled, and her voice came out of Ian’s phone. “Wow, you can even find me here.” She hung up and worked her
shoulders a bit before coming out. “You’re early today. I thought you’d stay there for a while.”
Most of the time, Ian would stay around to chat with the crew and host after he was done, but now that he was embroiled in a
scandal, nobody would care even if he didn’t stay for a chat.
“Yeah. Work’s done a bit early today.”
Cindy straightened herself out. “Let’s go then.”
Both of them came out, and Ian was smiling slightly. Anyone who saw that would think they were getting along as usual.
Someone went past them and saw them standing together, and that person smiled sardonically.
Cindy noticed that, of course, but she couldn’t do anything about it. The look on that guy’s face said ‘You guys can still smile
even at a time like this?’ Well, everyone just loves some real life drama.
After they got out of the set, Cindy asked him if the news would hurt his drama. Ian wasn’t sure either, since capitalists were
capricious. They cared a lot about the artists’ reputation. After all, they invested a lot of money in the drama, so if the ratings
were hurt because of one artist’s reputation, that’d be bad for business.
Ian hesitated for a while, then he said, “Let’s see what Hannah has to say. She probably knows this will happen.”
That explanation didn’t sit well with Cindy. It was obvious that the news would affect him, not to mention that this was the first
drama Ian would star in. Hannah’s plan for Ian was always perfect, so she knew this film’s protagonist fitted his image and would
help his career.
Even Linda wanted a role, so it was obvious the production was decent. If his career was affected by something as trivial as this,
it’d be a big waste.
After they went back home, Ian went into his room and called Hannah. He wanted to see how she’d handle the whole matter,
since her statement didn’t help much. And he didn’t want to get into more trouble, especially when this was a non-issue to begin
with.

On the other hand, Hannah was in a dilemma as well. If the company took Ian’s side and shifted the blame to Linda, her career
would be damaged. After all, her reputation wasn’t great to begin with, and this plot twist would hurt her even more. Even if her
career wasn’t destroyed, it wouldn’t be far from it.
Hannah knew that, but she didn’t want to give up on Linda just like that.
Ian sneered. “Honestly, how did this even get leaked to begin with? It hasn’t been too long, but the version that benefits her the
most went viral instead? I don’t think anyone else in the company did this. Everyone knows how bad Linda’s rep is. Even if
someone is out to get me, it’s impossible for her to stay completely dry in this storm. You get what I’m saying?”
Hannah sighed. “Yes. I’ve talked to her about it, but she wouldn’t admit that she did it no matter what. Says she isn’t involved in
the news. Not a bit.”
“Hah. It’d be a miracle if she actually confessed.” He then continued, “If the company won’t defend me, then I’ll do it myself. We
did nothing wrong, and we won’t take the blame for someone else.”
Hannah knew Ian was furious, but that rarely ever happened. Even when she took any jobs he didn’t like, he’d only frown and
said he didn’t like the job. He rarely was ever this extreme, nor had he ever said he’d confront anyone. Hannah knew he wouldn’t
rest until this matter was settled.
However, she wouldn’t let him post any statement himself. If he did that, everyone would think the company did nothing to help,
and his fans would be out for the company’s blood.
