Chapter 1442 Cindy’s Dilemma
Cindy nodded. She wanted to explain herself, but probably nobody would believe her. Worse still, they might snip her statement
and twist it to fit their own needs.
But even though the news had gone viral, it didn’t affect Ian’s shooting in the afternoon. The driver still came and drove them to
the set, but the atmosphere was completely different.
Everyone was still happy around Ian, but there was disdain in their eyes when they looked at Cindy. Of course, they didn’t show
it right in front of her, but Cindy could read the room. Whenever they were talking behind her back, she knew they were gossiping
about her even though they weren’t looking at her.
Cindy sighed helplessly. After all, the rumors were too believable. If she was just another regular netizen who wasn’t in the know,
she might just believe this kind of news herself. And of course she would think badly of a person like that.
When Ian was shooting, Cindy found a place to sit and went online to read the news despite her reluctance.
Hannah worked fast. Just a while ago, she released a legal statement and demanded the KOLs who posted the fake news to
delete their posts and make an official apology. The statement was written in an angry tone, but still, that didn’t stop the
comments from pouring in. A lot of them said that if the news online was fake, then the company should post the truth of the
event.
Ian’s fans were upset as well. They thought the statement didn’t explain everything the company should, so Ian was still
embroiled in the scandal. Put it simply, the statement didn’t help anyone out. Instead, it only made things worse for Ian and
Cindy. After all, the public thought that the company was hiding something, since they wouldn’t explain anything.
Cindy didn’t know what the company was planning, but she knew Hannah didn’t want to go too far. If she told everyone the truth,
Linda’s career would be over. Linda wasn’t in the best situation right now, so if she got dragged into the scandal, not even the
company could help her.
Cindy could understand why Hannah did that, but that didn’t mean she was fine with it. The scandal was already affecting her,
and she was no saint, so she would never sacrifice herself for someone else’s success. After she finished reading the news, she
put her phone down and let out a long sigh.
She wanted to talk to Ian and see if he would step up and get himself out of this mess. She was immersed in her thoughts for a
long time, and then her phone rang. The call startled her, and she saw that it was from Ian after glancing at the caller ID.

Even though Ian was shooting, he could take a break sometimes. However, since the break wasn’t long, he wouldn’t come out
most of the time. That was why Cindy thought he had an emergency, so she took the call immediately. However, the first thing he
said was, “Don’t go online.”
Cindy didn’t tell him that she had already read everything. She just pursed her lips and said ‘okay’ after a while.
A moment later, Ian continued, “We’ll talk about this after we get home. I’ll call Hannah too. I will not let you take the blame for
someone else.”
Cindy felt relieved after hearing that. It was great knowing that Ian cared about her even in tough times like this. “Sure. Thank
you, Ian.”
Ian sighed. “You don’t have to thank me. After all, this whole mess started because of me. Linda’s doing this because she
dislikes me.”
The company’s resources were limited, and the same went for Hannah’s resources. Now that she was giving the lion’s share to
Ian, of course Linda would have some complaints about it.
