The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 92

Blair POV

I smiled. "Gladly," I said sweetly, aware of how dirty I was, and yet Braedon seemed not to care "I won the hunt and as Gary here just stipulated, the girls did demand kisses from the men afterward. However, having a mate already, as I've told him numerous times, I objected and told Gary I had no desire for a kiss. Evidently, I hurt his feelings" I paused as Braedon put his arm around my waist and glared down at the silent man who looked panicked "because he decided to confront me just now and force a kiss on me, because and I quote, you think you're better than me." I stared down at the man who looked at the Alpha King uneasily, knowing he was done for and feeling nothing but satisfaction at the inevitable that was about to happen. This would teach him to try and pull something on a woman, regardless of whether she had a wolf or not. I suspected it wasn't the first time he had tried something like this. Braedon let out a furious growl. Gary flinched. "Bastard" he snarled, letting go of me reluctantly and stomping over to the man with rage in his eyes.

I watched in awe as he grabbed the man and hoisted him up in the air with ease, his muscles rippling and causing my mouth to go dry "You think you can lay hands on my mate, or try to force a kiss on her?" he thundered, causing Gary to stiffen in his grasp as realization dawned in his eyes.

"I didn't know she was your mate your Highness" Gary wheezed, his legs kicking futilely as he tried to claw at the Alpha King's fingers which only tightened further in response.

"It doesn't matter, you don't do that to any woman" Braedon roared "I ought to kill you just now, and I'm tempted, but my mate managed to thwart your advance. As it is, you're going to be duly punished for your transgression."

I saw Gary's eyes widen as two warriors came stalking forward. Braedon must have mind-linked them, I thought absent-mindedly. Braedon dropped the man with a large thud, glowering. "Take this piece of filth to the dungeon. Have him whipped for the next month, daily as a reminder not to mess with what is mine or any woman for that matter. If I catch you near my mate again, I won't be so lenient" he sneered.

That was lenient? I would hate to get on Braedon's bad side.

The two warriors nodded, bending down and taking Gary by the arms. He struggled but I saw one of the warriors plunge a syringe into him, causing him to cry out. I surmised it must have been Wolfsbane because he didn't shift to try and escape. The warriors marched him off, looking pissed themselves. Braedon let out a low growl and ran a hand through his hair, looking exasperated and more than a little furious. ""Braedon" my voice was soft "are you okay?"

I saw him composing himself before he turned back to me. He gave a wry smile. "I am now. I saw James and he let slip about what the girls did after they won. I thought that maybe..." he sounded sheepish and suddenly realization dawned as to why he had come storming outside in such a temper.

I raised an eyebrow at him, "you thought I had done the same?"

It was an accusation and he blanched. He avoided my eyes. I was seething "You thought I would have let another male, kiss me on the lips that wasn't my mate? Do you even know me at all?" I demanded shrilly "You should have known I would never have let that happen, or do something like that to you. How could you think I would betray you like that?"

He looked sheepish. "Blair, I'm sorry, it's just that, well" he growled, his eyes beginning to flash between black and his normal color as I observed him coolly. It had started off as such a good day between us too I thought dismally. Now I was so angry at him that my own hands had clenched into fists. "You haven't let me mark you" he hissed and I let out a snort.

"So you think that because you haven't marked me I'm a slut?" I said hollowly.

He shook his head in denial. "That's not what I'm saying" he protested.

"Then what is it? I wanted to get to know you, that's why I haven't wanted you to mark me. You were the one who wanted to reject me in the first place, can you blame me for being hesitant in case you change your mind about accepting me again?" My voice was bitter and filled with hurt.

He sucked in a breath "is that why you've been so hesitant? You think that I might change my mind?"

I said nothing, looking moody. His face cleared and he made a move towards me but I held up a shaking hand, holding him back. "Don't" I said stiffly "I'm still mad at you."

He looked a little forlorn. "Sweetheart I'm sorry. But I would never change my mind. I've accepted you completely. Why can't you trust me?"

I laughed "How can you say that after what you just thought I was capable of?"

My voice was dripping with irony.

He flinched. "I'm sorry" he mumbled, ducking his head and looking ashamed.

I wasn't ready to forgive him. I glared at him. "Not good enough. I bet James would have told you that he didn't think I kissed anyone or am I wrong?" I asked suspiciously.

His cheeks went flushed. Aha. So even James knew me better than my own mate. The notion rankled. He clenched his jaw "Blair let's just talk about this" he said tersely "We can talk about this and work through it."

"We wouldn't even need to do that if you learned to trust me" My voice was high and shrill "but you decided to believe the worst without any proof. Were you going to accuse me or were you going to talk and ask?" Silence. His expression went brooding. I had my answer.

I stormed past him. "Find another room to sleep in tonight" I told him as I paused, glancing over my shoulder and seeing a woebegone expression on his face "I don't want to lie next to a man who thinks I would cheat on him, even if its something as small as a simple kiss from another man."

"Blair," he said hotly but I shook my head.

"Save it," I said coldly "I'm going to take a shower and spend time with Josie. You can go back to doing whatever business you need to do. I'm sure James is wanting to find out just how well this all turned out."

I stormed back into the pack house, feeling his eyes watching me the entire time. I made it upstairs and showered, sobbing under the water the entire time. Braedon had no way of knowing just how much he had hurt me by expecting the worst from me. All my life I had been treated derisively but I hadn't expected my own mate to treat me as though I was trash or a slut. As the water cascaded down on me, I wiped my tears and steeled myself. No matter what, I was going to have a good time with Josie. At least she had my back even when it meant she got hurt in the process. I couldn't ask for a better friend than her and that afternoon she made every effort to get my mind off my mate and introduced me to what a girly night was like as we got up to more mischief than even I would have thought possible.
