The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 180

Blair

POV

We began to trot east, keeping a wary lookout. I kept my ears pricked for the sounds of women's voices or security. I knew that the security would entail various pack members and thus, we would have to fight. It wasn't long until we came across a row of cottages that were confined inside a large heavily secure fence, with warriors patrolling the perimeter. I stepped back and watched as several of my warriors leaped forward, attacking the guards who were taken by surprise and killed within seconds, their bodies dragged back to the forest. One of the warriors shifted and rifled through their pockets, accessing a key to open the gate. He brandished it at us and we nodded, forming a semi-circle, as he jogged to the gate and quickly opened it wide, allowing everybody to go storming in. It was chaos. We let out howls and ferocious growls. The security was the first to be taken out as they rushed to prevent us from accessing the cottages. They stood no chance against our numbers, nor against our warriors who were strong and capable, against those who were weak and lazy. We heard screams as several Alphas and Betas rushed out. That was harder. They had clearly been in the midst of using the women, rushing to shift. I couldn't stay back any longer. My wolf surged forward, attacking an Alpha mid-shift and tearing into his throat, killing him instantly, watching the life leave his eyes as he stared blankly up at the sky.

My warriors worked together to take out another Alpha and I watched in shock as Alpha Johnathon managed to take out one on his own despite being weakened. Braedon and James's wolf came running into the melee, darting through the wolves and expertly picking out the beta's as though they were nothing, tearing out their throats and severing their spinal cords. It was bloody, it was chaotic and it was devastating to the other side. I saw one Gamma wolf attempting to sneak out and rushed towards it, leaping onto its back as it yelped and flung me off of it. I turned and faced it, baring my canines and growling fiercely. I wasn't about to let it escape.

It rushed me. I dodged to the side and clawed its midsection, listening to the sounds of its pained cry with a deep sense of satisfaction. I turned and clawed its throat, watching its eyes bulge out of its head. It made a strange gurgling sound and then it dropped to the ground, dead, joining its comrades. I swished my tail and turned, surveying the rest of the crowd, which consisted mainly of my people. I frowned. If Braedon and James had come back here, then where were Brynn and Luna Bianca? It made no sense. I sniffed the air but it was filled with the metallic scent of blood and it was difficult to differentiate different scents. I saw the last wolf fall, before we all shifted back to human form, hearing the sounds of sobbing and wailing behind the closed doors of the little cottages. I tentatively opened the door to the cottage closest to me, a woman looking up from her place on the bed. She was naked, trembling, holding herself as she rocked to and fro. Her teeth chattered together. She was thin, her body covered in bruises, and dark circles under her eyes. Rage swept through me. "Please don't hurt me" she whispered, turning her head and viewing me with desperation.

My heart broke. I walked inside, grabbed the blanket off the bed, and wrapped it around her as her eyes widened in surprise. I knelt, taking hold of her shaking hands. "We're not here to hurt you," I told her softly, as she sniffled, "we're here to help you. You don't have to be afraid anymore" I told her "You're free now. My people are outside. Why don't you get dressed and join us? I could use your help to get the rest of the women in the cottages to do the same. I don't want to scare them" I added.

She gazed at me uncertainly and then towards the half-open door, biting her lip. "We're really free?" she stammered. "Look out the door if you don't believe me," I told her gently.

She stood, the blanket wrapped around her body, and walked to the doorway, gazing out of it in awe. Her eyes narrowed as she took in the dead bodies, a small smile curving on her lips as her tears faded. She turned away and rushed back inside, grabbing her clothes that were strewn across the floor haphazardly, beginning to shimmy into them as I turned my back. "Thank you, thank you" she breathed, sounding gleeful "Oh god, I prayed for this day, but I never thought it would come. I can't believe it" she babbled. "I'm Deidre," she told me as I turned back around, beaming at me "Who are you?"

"I'm the Luna Queen Blair and my mate is the Alpha King Braedon."

Her eyes widened and she went to kneel but I shook my head "Please don't. We don't stand on formalities here. I want to help you with the rest of the women and then, I want to find Luna Bianca and Brynn. Do you have any idea where they might be hiding?" I asked and saw her eyes change, a look of anger on her face.

"Luna Bianca and that useless Luna Brynn are the ones responsible for all of this. IF I knew where they were, I would tell you in a heartbeat, because I want them to suffer, like I have suffered. They deserve to be executed for what they have done." "I agree," I said, motioning for her to follow me outside "and you have my word that when we find them, you won't have to worry about them anymore. Now let's get the rest of the women out and see if one of them knows where the Luna's might be." Deidre gave a twisted grin "I hope you find them."

Oh, I will Deidre I thought with amusement, it was just a matter of time.
