Chapter Epilogue
“We have struck back. We have declared war on any being that dares to think they can wipe us out without a fight. No matter how celestial, no matter how powerful they are, this is our home and we will fight to keep it.”
Angelfall; Susan Ee
375 years ago they sought us out.
They. People who were not from the skies with big black eyes, big green heads, and spaceships. They. The ones who we thought were our allies but turned out to be our real enemy. We became their mercenaries. We thought we were saving the world. But we weren’t. We turned out to be the pawns in their game.
They. The humans. They are the monsters. They are the enemy.
And so they conquered.
But we will fight.
The light was too bright.
She could not feel her body. She couldn’t feel her soul.
She felt like she’s drifting into polluted air.
She couldn’t even get her voice to speak.
She hears them coming. They’ve come for me again. She thought as the fear started to trickle down her spine. Her heart started to beat rapidly in her chest.
They entered the room in white garbs.
They touched her skin like she was a precious specimen. They put on their masks and talk about the experiment.
Her.
They started to study her. Operated her. Many other things they did to her.
At first she cried. She remembered the pain. She could remember her screams.
But now. She couldn’t feel them. She felt cold. She felt dead.
She was their new plaything. A specimen like no other. She was something out of this world.
She was too weak to fight anymore that she kept her eyes shut.
The humans went on like this until she forgot who she truly was.
Operation complete. One of the scientists said. I think she is ready.
Good. Send her out. The master has spoken.
The earth shook and the lights went out. Screams filled the room. Everything submerged into chaos. But she kept her eyes shut.
They made me who they want me to be.
The screams died and so as her own fear.
The lights went on.
So I will be the thing that they made me.
And so she wakes.
