The Princess’s Broken Alpha

Chapter 39

The days were busy and a whirlwind. She didn't feel like a stranger anymore and more settled at the Cartier pack. Kiarra was busy decorating the new home left, right and center. Zion didn't care what she did to the place as long as she loved it then he was happy. He also insisted she got whatever she wanted no matter the cost. She wasn't going for expensive, she was going for style and quality. She hadn't heard from Vivienne in a while and was curious what was happening but didn't dare to call in case it was news she couldn't handle. She just wanted this Christmas to be perfect. Then she could worry about everything else.

She wanted to get the place done in time for Christmas even if not fully then at least enough for them move into. She did most of the decorating when she wasn't doing patrol duty and she got some help along the way. Samuel of course grumbled but he came everyday to help her paint and put things together.

Another good addition was Lisa and some of the pack members like Julie. They were now much nicer to her now that Zion made it official she was his. Though some were still wary and she didn't blame them after the whole Jackson incident. Julie tagged on to her every chance she got and she didn't mind it. If she had a younger sister Kiarra would love her to be like Julie.

Lisa apologized to her too surprisingly and all in all things were going great for now. With the help of everyone the place was almost finished and all that was left was for them to move in.

She stood in the middle of the living space after everyone left just looking around. She had heard Zion's truck pull up and was waiting for his reaction when entered.

"This doesn't even look like the same place" Zion voice boomed as he came in and looked around amazed at all she did. She was really good at this. Damn good at this. If it was up to him everything would be in dark brown or black which thank goodness it wasn't because the place looked surreal. When she said she was going to decorate he was not expecting this. His huntress had taste. The chandelier overhead glittered brilliantly as the light caught it, it was magnificent and pulled you in the moment you entered through the door.

If it wasn't for the layout of the house he would have wondered if this was the same place.

She looked content at the place and his approval wearing his black shirt and jeans with paint splattered all over them and her bun falling apart with wisps of hair sticking out. Even through all of this she looked stunning.

She sat in his lap and sighed; stretching herself out to close her eyes.

"This is isn't a lounge chair" he said in her ear.

"What's the difference?" she quipped. He smiled and kissed her temple.

"You're showing your true colors now aren't you?"

She gave him a fake offended face and settled back comfortably against him. She could fall asleep right there.

"Did you find out anything about the mystery guy?"

"No. Same old. But he'll come back."

He ran his hand across her stomach and the action made her heat up.

"I'm proud of you. You did an amazing job"

She smiled at him.

"Well I'm just adding on to your vision which you carried out beautifully and also Sammy did an amazing job too with the the painting." She looked around at the walls while gesturing with her hands dramatically. " Sammy?"

"Yes Sammy" she said not understanding what was wrong with calling him Sammy. Zion did it sometimes. It was just a nickname.

"And he doesn't blow a gasket?" he questioned.

"No. Why would he?"

Zion squinted.

"You're going to be spending less time with my brother."

Kiarra shook her head at his ridiculousness.

"So the room beside ours has a connecting door?"

She'd been wondering about that.

"Yes the room beside us has a connecting door. I had it built in so the room would be a baby room and then when they get older they transition over to the other side. Speaking of which how many children do you want to have?" "Two or three. How many boys or girls?"

"I honestly don't care as they are healthy and they come from you"

She ran a hand over his beard. Speaking of children Zion noticed she never spoke about her parents or family. The topics about her life he now noticed were always expertly diverted to something else. He actually knew nothing about her other than the fact that she was a huntress. There was no history, no stories, nothing he could prepare for when meeting her parent. Not even the mention of a sibling. She barely spoke about the palace or anything. It was a bit strange. She was too much of a mystery and something inside him wasn't feeling comfortable with any of this lack of information. He felt like he knew her and he didn't.

"Anastasia"

Her brown eyes looked into his.

"I don't know anything about you"

He was studying her and for the tiniest second he could have sworn she looked tense.

"What do you want to know?"

"Who are your parents? Do you have any siblings? We are starting something here and I'm just noticing that I know absolutely nothing about you"

The more he said it out loud the more it had him on edge. His past experiences had him overthinking it all and he waited for her to respond.

" My mother is dead. She died when I was twelve"

Zion brushed her hair back listening to her intently. She looked uncomfortable speaking about her mother and he didn't push it." My father is on the council. I'm basically an only child and as for other siblings I do have a few cousins."

" Okay." It was still a little a vague but at least he could put some pieces together." Anything else? What about friends?"

"I only had one best friend that I grew up with but we grew a part. Life happens."

Or he declared his undying love for you and demands that you mate with him and you ran off leaving him against your father's wishes to find your destined mate.

"Okay"

He kissed her hard and she welcomed his lips on hers, the taste of his tongue. She hated having to lie to him but she had no other choice. She gently caressed his beard as he slowed the kiss breaking away from her. "Was your mother on the council as well?"

"No. Are you going to tell me where we are going on Friday?"

She tried to change the topic and he noticed but didn't push it. It was a start and maybe he was just overthinking. Relax Zion.

"Zion? Where are we going?"

"That's the whole point of a surprise love"

She frowned at him.

"Well I need an idea of what I should wear?" she was trying to get even the slightest hint but he wasn't budging.

" 'Something nice" he said casually.

"Zion" she said in frustration.

"A nice dinner dress."

"

Okay"

He could see her trying to figure out where they were going and he kissed her. He really couldn't get enough of her.

"It's a surprise for a reason."

He then suggested they head home. It was starting to get late anyways. They could actually move in tomorrow.

By the time they headed back. She had showered and barely ate much, diving into the sheets before him. Zion tried not to disturb her as he moved about. She had been relentlessly powering the last few days so she could move in to the house. He'd tried to talk her into waiting until after Christmas but she was very persistent about spending their first Christmas there.

There were a few bags in the corner of his room that she had already started packing. He saw the backpack that Anastasia had carried with her on the floor half open and that's when he saw a cellphone on top of the clothes she had originally brought with her. Maybe it was hers and it got damaged. That would explain why she had no phone.

Out of instinct he turned it on and was surprised it actually worked. It didn't look damaged. The minute it turned on there were endless missed calls and unread messages popped up on the screen from Castor.

"I love you and I know you love me too"

"We have a ceremony to do."

"Kiarra you're mine and I love you."

Kiarra? Kiarra Reviere was the lycan princess on the run. She was more than likely using it to track her. He quickly turned it off and placed it back in the bag. The phone clearly wasn't Anastasia's.
