The President's Gift is a New Wife

Chapter 15

“Yes.” Mrs. Wright answered. She had heard the ins and outs of this incident from the servant from the

old house. Hannah felt awkward upon hearing her answer. She stared blankly at the pasta waiting for

Mrs. Wright to continue. “However, I am certain that Ms. Parker is not the type of person that would turn

a blind eye when someone is in need. You’ve once saved an injured stray cat by sending it to the vet.

After that, you raised it on your own until it passed away. That is the reason I have faith in you.” Mrs.

Wright added. Hannah felt reassured after hearing her words. Whenever we treat those around us wholeheartedly, we get something invaluable; unconditional faith in others. “Mr. Liam was fond of you.

He would surely feel distressed if he knew how things turned out right now. He was such a kind person.

It’s truly unfortunate.” Mrs. Wright stood motionless as memories of the past flooded her mind. Mrs.

Wright continued, “Mr. Liam did a lot for Mr. Fullerton. He was truly a great big brother. Back in the day,

I heard from the chef that Mr. Liam shouldered many responsibilities for Mr. Fullerton when the

Fullerton family’s business first transformed. Mr. Liam almost gave his life away once.” “What kind of

business was it that involved lives at stake?” Hannah questioned. She was baffled as she had not

heard anything about that after years of staying with the Fullerton family. Mrs. Wright snapped back to

her senses as footsteps from upstairs sounded. Mrs. Wright tapped her lips as she realized that she

disclosed too much. “Ms. Parker, please take these side dishes to the dining table. I’ll get the pasta

ready immediately. Mr. Fullerton dislikes waiting.” Mrs. Wright insisted. “Got it,” Hannah replied as she

kept everything she said in mind. Hannah was the one sparking conversations always whenever she

came over to have a meal. She liked to complain about the lacking atmosphere in the penthouse. She

could even talk all day about a fallen leaf that she picked up at school. Her voice could be heard

throughout the entire penthouse. However, the only sound that could be heard at the dining table was

the sound of chewing. Calvin found it unsettling. The pasta tasted delicious, but he was certain that it

was not prepared by Hannah. Something dawned on Calvin at that moment. He realized that he

missed a dish named Reborn from the Saltiness, as the girl that prepared it was mesmerizing. The

pasta in his mouth suddenly felt tasteless. “Please add some salt for me.” Calvin insisted as he passed

the plate to Mrs. Wright. “Is it tasteless?” Mrs. Wright questioned herself. She had always utilized

specialized equipment to make sure that the flavorings added are accurate. Hannah swiftly tasted the

pasta as well. She realized that Calvin was glaring at her. “Yes. It is tasteless.” Hannah said as her ears

turned red. Mrs. Wright went upstairs to rest after cleaning up the table after dinner. As Hannah was

about to head to her room, she heard the front gate opening. Someone’s here at this hour? Whom could it be? Hannah glanced through the window and saw a yellow sports car at the gate. It was Zac.

He walked towards the front door and grabbed his pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet. He realized

that Hannah was here as he stepped through the entrance. Zac stood there motionless, lost in his

thoughts. He was trying to figure out a way to please Calvin to redeem himself. “Mrs. Fullerton, you are

here as well,” Zac said. He had heard the news of their engagement from Hunter, so he was certain

that his form of address for Hannah was correct. Calvin and Hannah were dazed. Calvin had the urge

to yell at Zac as he addressed every woman that he came across as Mrs. Fullerton. Zac realized the

deafening silence and swiftly added, “Right, this is your home after all.” Zac would have been beaten

up for his mannerisms if it were not for his wealthy family. After Hannah gave an awkward smile to Zac,

she went into her room. “What did you call me over for?” Zac asked with a grin. “Help me apply the

ointment. It’s an allergic reaction.” Calvin insisted. “Did you go to any unhygienic places?” Zac asked.

“Yes. I went to an inn.” Calvin answered. “What? You are fully aware of your physique. You’ve been

allergic to unhygienic places ever since you were little. Didn’t you know that places that have not been

properly sanitized can escalate your allergic reaction to asphyxia?” Zac uttered. Zac suddenly realized

something else and asked, “Why did you go to an inn though? Did a piece of land catch your

attention?” “It’s none of your business,” Calvin said as he took off his shirt and laid prone on the bed.

Zac washed his hands three times before squeezing some ointment on his palms and applying it to

Calvin’s back. “It’s so smooth,” Zac said as he giggled. Calvin regretted calling him over. He held back

his urge to beat him up as it was late at night. “Hurry up and get this over with.” Calvin insisted. Zac

nodded in response but he continued to moan in pleasure since Calvin was not facing him. “It feels

amazing to be able to serve a belle like you this late at night,” Zac said. Zac ran his palms all over

Calvin’s back. He did not apply the ointment on the rashes properly. “Zac Paddock, I order you to get

out of my house within a minute,” Calvin uttered. Zac was bewildered and asked, “Am I making you

uncomfortable? I observed the method that the doctor did for you back then.” “He didn’t touch me all

over the place as you did,” Calvin uttered menacingly. Zac was touching his waist as well. After Calvin

finished his words, he kicked Zac out of his house. Zac quickly got in his car and drove off. I was planning to behave well, but who knew Calvin had such smooth skin! Hannah did not fall asleep. She

had never gotten proper rest ever since Liam passed away. To make matters worse, Calvin had

become a reason for her insomnia as well. She was trying to grasp Calvin’s motives. Calvin humiliated

Hannah back in the basement, threatened her with video recordings, and interfered with her work. As

she was about to hate him to the core, he suffered from his allergic reaction to bring her out of the inn.

After that, Calvin attended private events as usual and even criticized his ex-girlfriend on the spot.

Calvin brought Hannah back to the penthouse and had pasta together.
