The Palace Beast

Chapter 90 - Get Spared

Even in this last moment, the chief still believes John to be a god and he's ready to fight him or even kill him in other to kill Bonnie as well.

John grinned at him. "I saved your entire village and I have no plan in destroying what I saved. Don't push me."

"Very well then! We can let you walk out of here if you hand her over to us." The chief was desperate in killing Bonnie and nothing John will do to stop it. "That's not gonna happen!" John glared at the chief.

"I can handle this, step aside," said Bonnie as she makes her way to the imperial guards who at this time have their swords positioned for a fight. "Who wants to die first?" Bonnie smiled broadly, displaying her fangs. She was ready to kill even though she never wanted to kill anyone in Zaxson village but to make sure they got their life back after being enslaved by the orcs.

"If anyone is going to die, it's going to be you or the god you travel with. Make your choice wisely," said the chief as he points at both John and Bonnie. He's losing his patience and wants to decorate the dungeon with Bonnie's blood. His family was torn apart by a werewolf pack who were hunting. Ever since then, he doesn't want to let any creature walk free without him killing or torturing them to death. The werewolf killed by Bonnie was one of the pack that have devoured his family. His hatred for both vampires and werewolves can't be atoned by any gods. His village has been a victim of attacks from vampires and werewolves before the orcs took over. He wants to set the record straight again and make sure no creature will ever think of Zaxson as their ground for hunt ever again.

"I don't want this to end like this. You will let us walk away and I promise you will never see us ever again."

Even though John can take all of them out at once with his wand, he doesn't want to be the guy that kills people at every given opportunity. But right now, the chief is about to ruin his chances of getting out of Zaxson. His hope of getting home lies with Bonnie who has promised to help him out. What will be his fate if Bonnie is dead? He has to do something to stop Bonnie from being killed.

Seeing that the chief and his guards were not backing down, Bonnie grabbed one of the guards. She threatened to kill him as she ordered the chief to stand down and let them walk.

However, the chief was stiff-necked as he paid no attention to Bonnie's warning. He ordered the rest of the guards to stake Bonnie through the heart. There were about six guards in total. Although they were bearing swords, they also have a wooden spear in their hands. On hearing the chief's order, they got rid of the sword and positioned the wooden spear. The wooden spear has a sharp pointed metal that pierced through the body of their victim, they believed that the wooden part could weaken Bonnie or even kill her if her heart is targeted.

"Call your guards to stand down!" John yelled. He isn't happy with what's happening but he's ready to go down fighting and to save Bonnie from being killed.

The chief ignored John and instructed the guards to carry out his order. As the guards slowly make their way towards Bonnie, she sinks her fangs into the chest of the guard she was holding in her grip. She aims for an aorta that carries blood out of the heart and is the largest blood vessel of all, up to 1 inch in diameter.

The guards were crippled with fear, seeing what has happened. They made no move towards her again as they became paralyzed in fear. It's clear they don't want to die yet. Not even death by a vampire's bite.

"You dare do this in my presence!" roared the chief. As he was about to take a step towards Bonnie, John blasted him through the walls with his wand. It was just a wind blast and there was not much damage done to him.

He picked himself up and stared down at John. "You are worst than the gods who make war against the warlocks."

"I am not a god but a man like you. And you will let us walk without anyone of you following us."

John makes his way to the chief and boldly stood before him. His powers are becoming one with him unlike before. It's as if something in him is teaching him how to master his powers. As he was standing before the chief, he turned off his blue eyes.

"What are you going to do to me, kill me?" asked the chief.

"No chief, you have peopled to protect but my warning to you is never you try to hurt Bonnie, or I will be forced to hurt you real bad."

After John has said this, he turned to leave. Bonnie followed him immediately. As they were about to step out from the dungeon, the chief picked up a wooden spear and charged towards Bonnie.

Bonnie swirled and moved toward him more than the eye can see. She knocked off the wooden spear off his hand and grabbed him firmly on his throat that he can barely move. "That which you fear is what you will become," said Bonnie as she sinks her fangs into his neck, though not draining him of his blood.

A vampire can turn a mortal into another vampire by biting them and not draining them of their blood; this entails the transfer of vampire blood and or venom to the human and the human living after the vampire finishes feeding.

The fear of the chief has come upon him as he grasps for air with Bonnie's fangs still in him. Not quite long she released her grip on him and pushed him to the ground as the imperial guards let down their weapons and fled for their lives. They all let out a terrifying cry as they flee.

"We need to go now before the villagers surround us!" said Bonnie as she leads the way out of the dungeon.
