The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family

Hugo's expression was obviously a little unnatural when work was mentioned.

To be exact, he was proud of his status as a student who had been sponsored by the government, but he suddenly had low self-esteem when he mentioned that he was going to Mexico to work.

Charlie was keenly aware of his changes. So, he sighed softly and said, "I think that you were also helpless when you decided to go to Mexico to work, right? In truth, I'm just like you. I wouldn't want to go to Mexico unless it was my last resort." Hugo asked him curiously, "What are you going to do in Mexico?"

Charlie said casually, "I don't know what I can do after I go there, but my visa in the United States is about to expire. I originally thought about staying in the United States illegally, but the Immigration Department has been investigating illegal immigrants very tightly lately. One of my uncles was deported some time ago, so I thought about leaving the United States before my visa expires."

Hugo asked puzzledly, "You can just go back to Oskia if you cannot continue staying in the United States, right?"

Charlie said somewhat embarrassedly, "To be honest, I left the country because I couldn't continue staying in the country anymore. I owed a lot of money in the country, and I might get arrested if I go back now."

When Hugo heard this, he said with a smile, "You borrowed money to run away, right?"

"Haha..." Charlie laughed twice and said awkwardly, "I borrowed a little too much, and coupled with poor management, the deficit became too big. I couldn't afford to pay my debt, so I had to leave to escape the limelight."

Having said that, Charlie asked

curiously, "Since you were a student sponsored by the government to study abroad back then, you must also be a high-end talent. Why are а you still going to a place like

Mexico? Life there is very different compared to life in Mexico."

Hugo said with a desolate

expression, "No, I'm already getting older. In places like the United States, if you have not achieved financial freedom before the age of thirty-five to forty, there is a high, probability that you will be eliminated by capitalists. So what even if you have rich work

experience? Young people's salary is just a quarter or even one-fifth of your salary, and they are driven and not afraid of hard work. One person might not be compared to you, but wouldn't two people be better than you? Three of them could add up to be extremely remarkable."

Having said that, Hugo then sighed again and said, "People in IT like us will always have new technologies coming out. Old employees like us are not as good at learning new technologies as young people, and we get eliminated easily."

Charlie nodded and asked curiously. "Since you're in IT, you won't be able to develop much if you go to a place like Mexico, right? Could it be that you're planning to change industries?"

Hugo sighed and then waved his hand as he said, "Oh, forget it! It's nothing more than to make money to earn a living, so don't mention it anymore."

When Charlie saw that Hugo was unwilling to speak, he did not continue questioning Hugo. Meanwhile, boarding had already started for the flight, and the two of them passed through the gate one after the other as they walked toward the cabin.

Hugo had chosen a seat by the

window for himself, and his seat number was 39A. He walked in front

of Charlie, and when he arrived at his seat, he stopped and stuffed his suitcase and shoulder bag into the luggage compartment first before getting into his seat.

Charlie held onto his boarding pass and pretended to check his seat number as he muttered, "39B, where

is 39B...?"

With that said, he suddenly looked up at Hugo and pretended to be surprised as he said, "Oh, we are really fated! My seat is right next to yours!"

"Is that so?" Hugo was also obviously surprised.

They were compatriots, and he was right in front of Charlie when they queued up to board the plane just now. Unexpectedly, their seats would also be next to each other after boarding the plane.
