The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 81

Felicity

POV.

I was happy to have reconciled with Maximus, being cold with him had been hell and being with him without being able to talk to him or touch him was one of the most difficult things for me. "Felicity, there's something I need to tell you," Maximus said, his voice uncertain.

I felt a knot form in my stomach. "What is it?" I asked, heart racing.

Maximus hesitated, his eyes flicking nervously towards the ground before he looked back at me. "I'm not proud of it, but I still can't forgive myself for what I did to you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. My heart sank, knowing exactly what he was referring to. "Max, we've already talked about that. I forgave you," I said, placing my hand on his cheek.

"I know you did, and I'm grateful for that. It's just, every time I think about how badly I hurt you, it tears me apart. I never want to be that person again," he said, his voice breaking slightly.

I could see the pain and remorse etched on his face, and it nearly broke my heart. "Max, I know you're not perfect. But you're trying to be better, and that's what matters," I said, giving him a gentle smile.

He looked at me gratefully, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "Thank you, Felicity. You don't know how much that means to me."

"I may not have everything figured out, but I'm willing to forgive and move on if you are," I said, reaching up to stroke his hair. Maximus let out a shaky breath before pulling me into a tight hug. "I am, Felicity. I love you so much," he whispered in my ear.

"I love you too, Max," I said, burying my face in his shoulder.

In that moment, nothing else mattered besides the two of us. We had overcome a major hurdle in our relationship, and I knew we would only grow stronger from there.

Maximus suggested that we go stay outside around the fire. "Hey, why don't we go outside and enjoy the night sky around the fire?" He said, looking at me with a grin.

I smiled and nodded in agreement, "That's actually a great idea, let's do it!"

I then went back to the living room to take my baby to Adrian. As I approached him, he looked up and smiled at me. "Hey, how are you doing? Did you make up with Maximus?" he asked.

I replied, "Yes, we did. I think we both realized that we were being silly and immature."

Adrian's smile faded, and he looked disappointed. "Oh, I see." He handed over the baby to me and walked away without turning back.

I called out his name, but he didn't respond. I had forced myself to love him but I couldn't, my heart had chosen Maximus and I couldn't help it.

My heart fluttered with excitement as I approached Maximus, the man who had captured my heart. His rugged features made my heart race and his piercing blue eyes seemed to stare into my soul. As I held our sleeping baby in my arms, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with love and admiration towards both of them.

As I drew closer to Maximus, I could feel my palms beginning to sweat and my heart beating faster with every step. With each passing moment, my desire for him grew stronger until I finally stood before him.

He looked up at me with a smile that melted my heart and my feelings for him intensified. I could see the love for our child written in his eyes, and my heart swelled with joy at the sight.

As he got up from his seat, I could see that he was eager to hold the baby, and I happily obliged. I passed our child into his outstretched arms, making sure to keep him safe and secure, and we both sat down together, huddled around the warmth of the fire. The fire filled the night air with a gentle crackling sound, and I couldn't help but admire the beauty of our surroundings. The subsidiary of LOJ was a place of stunning natural beauty, with towering trees and rolling hills stretching out in every direction. The stars above were bright and clear, and a cool breeze carried the scent of fresh pine and wood smoke.

As I leaned into Maximus, I felt a sense of contentment and happiness that I had never experienced before. I could feel his warmth and affection, and I knew that he felt the same way. He placed his arm around me, and I nestled into his side, feeling the softness of his shirt against my cheek.

In that moment, everything felt perfect, and I wished that we could stay like this forever. But as the silence stretched on, I could tell that something was bothering Maximus, something that he had been holding onto for a long time.. He heaved a deep sigh, and I knew that he was about to speak.

"What's on your mind, my love?" I asked him softly, placing my hand on his shoulder,my voice barely above a whisper.

He sighed deeply, as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders. "Before I met you, I had a fiancée," he began, his voice cracking slightly. "We were childhood friends, our parents were also friends, it was meant to be."

I looked at him, listening intently as he spoke. He continued, "I loved that girl with all my heart. When we were teenagers, everything was so good between us. She was sweet, beautiful, kind, and had all the best qualities. She even often slept with me in my father's castle, the former lycan king. We were so happy together."

He paused for a moment, as if lost in thought. Then, he resumed. "Our parents decided to betroth us to seal the alliance of our two peoples. We were both delighted, we got engaged. But after the engagement, something changed."

He looked at me with a pained expression, "She became sneaky, mean, manipulative, and frivolous. Suddenly, all she cared about was materialistic stuff and she was also very bad at that. But despite everything, I still loved her until she did something serious." "What did she do?" I asked, trying to understand what had happened.

Maximus took a deep breath and sighed heavily. "She betrayed my trust in the worst way possible," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "She had an affair with one of my closest friends."

I gasped, shocked at his revelation. "I'm so sorry, Maximus. That must have been so hard for you."

He nodded sadly, "It was. I was devastated. I couldn't believe that she would do something like that to me. After that, I knew that our engagement was over and that we could never be together again."

I could see the pain etched on his face and I reached out to rub his shoulder in comfort. "I can't believe she would do something like that to you, Max," I said, feeling anger bubbling up inside of me.

"I know, Felicity. I trusted her, loved her, and she betrayed me," he said, his voice heavy with emotion.

Max paused and I could see tears beginning to form in his eyes. I immediately reached out to him and wiped away the tears. He buried his face in his hands, unable to speak. I didn't push him to continue, but after a moment he took a deep breath and began. "She tried to ruin my reputation and even went as far as trying to kill me when I ended it with her."

My eyes widened in shock as I listened to him describe the atrocities that she had inflicted upon Max. She had lied to him, cheated on him, and even stolen from him. She had manipulated him so thoroughly that he didn't know what was real anymore. "She's a monster," Max said, his voice shaking with anger.

I didn't know what to say. I couldn't believe that someone could be so heartless. I reached over and put my hand on Max's shoulder, trying to offer some small measure of comfort.

"It's okay," I whispered. "You don't have to deal with her anymore. You can move on and find someone who deserves you."

Max nodded, tears still streaming down his face. "Thanks, Felicity. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"What was her name?" I asked, curious to know who this girl was who had caused him so much pain.

Maximus looked at me for a moment, hesitation evident in his eyes. "Her name is Celine Arnaud," he said finally.

I felt a jolt go through me at the mention of her name. Celine Arnaud was a name I knew all too well. She was a powerful lycan from a wealthy family, and I had heard rumors about her ruthless and cunning nature.

"Are you okay, Felicity?" Maximus asked, noticing my sudden change in demeanor.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just...I've heard some things about her," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral.

Maximus nodded, his eyes darkening. "She's not a good person, Felicity. I was blinded by my love for her, and it nearly cost me everything."

"I'm just glad you're not with her anymore," I said, reaching for his hand and giving it a squeeze.

"Me too," he replied, giving me a small smile.

"You deserve someone who truly loves and respects you," I said softly.

He looked at me with gratitude in his eyes, "And I have found that person in you, my love. With you, I know that I will never have to go through something like that again."

I smiled at him, "I promise to always be there for you, no matter what." And with that, we hugged each other tightly,

We sat in silence for a few moments, the crackling of the fire the only sound between us. I couldn't help but feel grateful that Maximus had opened up to me about his past. It was clear that he still carried some pain from his relationship with Celine, but I knew that our love for each other would help heal those wounds in time.

"You know what, Max?" I said suddenly, breaking the silence.

"What's that?" he asked, turning his gaze towards me.

"I think I have a new favorite memory of us now. Sitting out here around the fire, talking about our pasts and our future," I said, smiling up at him.

Maximus grinned back at me. "I think that might be my favorite memory too, Felicity," he said, leaning in to give me a kiss.

I felt my eyes drooping and knew it was time to head back inside. "I think I should go put the baby to bed," I said, stretching out my arms.

Maximus nodded and handed him back to me. "Goodnight, little guy."

I couldn't help but smile at the way he spoke to our son. It filled me with warmth and joy to see how much he loved and cared for our family.

As we walked back inside, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt at how Adrian had reacted earlier. But I knew in my heart that I had made the right decision. Maximus was my soulmate, the one I was meant to be with forever. And nothing could change that. Maximus's story made me realize just how lucky I was to have him in my life. He had been through so much but still managed to love and care for me. And I knew that no matter what happened, I would always stand by him and love him with all my heart
