Chapter 33
“We need to strike now!”
“We need to be cautious”
"Elina is not a female we need to tiptoe around, I agree with Kellen we need to strike right now, she would least expect it”,
“No, she would definitely expect it, that is what she wants,” Lucius’s voice quiets down the rumbles that had echoed in the room.
The room was filled with 6 alphas of the biggest packs in the African Regime. Some were accompanied by their Gamma’s and some their Delta’s.
They each discussed and brought up ideas on how to deal with Elina and her cause to be Queen but they could never agree on something.
“She expects you to strike now. Do not forget that Elina has sat in the same very room we all sit in right now, she has heard of all of your war tactics and quarrels between one another that I guess he already knows what each of you would do,” he says looking at each and every alpha,” and just by being here for two days I can agree with her that you would end up striking and she would win”.
“So what do you suggest, instead of sitting there and finding a nice way to say we’re imbeciles?”, Kellen Burke questions while leaning in.
“I say we wait for a month,” he could already Kellen’s reaction forming but he quickly finishes his sentence, ”yes, Elina would be building her army but so would we. But we wouldn’t need to build one considering we already have one”.
“I’m not following,” Perla announces.
“He’s saying we combine our forces and make one army,”
“pack,” Melinda corrects Matthew but does not take her eyes off Lucius.
The room echoes with a growl and everyone’s eyes shift to Kellen, “that is impossible and we all know it. Alpha's are very territorial creatures, we are very territorial creatures and we do not just give our titles away freely,’
“And yet you would have given it to Elina while tap dancing,” Genhji counters him with a roll of her eyes.
Kellen growls at her and Tobias growls back at him in a warning. Both males end up staring at each other for a while, Tobias not backing down even though knowing challenging an Alpha is something he knew not to do but his instincts wanted him to protect his mate.
'Tobias, calm down, we need him on our side’, Lucius links to him.
Tobias growls once more before turning to his female embrace. Lucius sighs before turning to face the alphas, running his mind with words that he wants to use to convince the alphas but mostly Kellen.
“My father and brother underestimated Elina, and they paid the price for it. Elina relies on her enemies giving in to their emotions. She pushes and pushes you to the point where you have no reason but to let your anger control you. That’s why she keeps attacking you all one by one and not all at once,” his eyes solely focuses on Kellen’s eyes, "but if we were to band together as one. She would not expect it. And as painful as this may be to all of you but Elina is more powerful than any of you and she has an advantage of the landscape. Her pack lies right at the top of a mountain and even if you were to attack you wouldn’t even leave a dent in her borders”.
The room goes silent as everyone takes in the information. He turns to Melinda to already see a look of approval in her eyes and he knew that his intuition about Melinda was right.
“Let’s say we do join our packs or as you say forces, where would we even go, none of our lands are big enough to accommodate the number of warriors we will have,” Kellen inquires finally giving into the idea.
“None of your lands,” Lucius repeats.
“But ours are enough,” Genhji finishes his sentence.
The silence in the room bounced off the walls and Gnehji, Lucius and Tobias all shared a look of certainty as they watched the alphas discuss the idea amongst their pack members.
With one final minute passing, Melinda then turns to the hall, and each and every member of the council gives her a nod before she turns to Lucius with a smile, "When do we leave?”.
