Chapter 311
Chapter 311
Cecilia had been talking for a while without hearing a response from Sebastian. When she looked up, she saw the usually stoic Sebastian furrowing his brows as he stared at his palm. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating him and casting tiny specks of dust in the air. This gave Sebastian an unusual air of melancholy.
Cecilia rubbed her eyes in disbelief. "Sept, are you okay?"
Such an expression couldn't possibly belong to him. He seemed lost.
At that moment, Sebastian's gaze suddenly hardened. He lifted his eyes to look at Cecilia, who instinctively straightened her back.
"I do like her."
"What!"
Sebastian lowered his head again, staring at his slightly clenched fist. "She's not wrong; I do like her."
Cecilia was at a loss for words. She rubbed her ears, doubting her own hearing. However, she didn't dare ask more questions. Instead, her eyes reddened. "Sept, you're such a jerk!"
Just after returning from the hospital, Madison noticed a familiar face at Haven House. Jessica was sprawled on the couch, venting to Jade.
When she saw Madison and the others come in, Jessica quickly stood up and forced a smile at Madison. "Ms. Locke, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to cause you trouble. I really didn't think I'd be doxxed and drag you into it too." She didn't care at all about the harsh comments from netizens. But when it involved Madison, she was upset.
"I've made my stance clear on my social media," she said, raising her hand in a vow-like gesture. "It doesn't seem to have worked, though. Those commenters are going crazy."
Madison studied Jessica for a moment. "It worked."
"What?"
""Everything you've done has been useful."
Jessica still looked puzzled.
Madison prompted her, "Check your social media again."
After days of arguing with commenters online, Jessica had drained her mental energy. She had kept her phone off all day, and when she finally turned it back on, a flood of private messages greeted her.
Holding her breath, she clicked on her notifications, and the first thing she saw was her own post.
Previously, the top-rated comment had previously insulted Jessica and Madison. Now, it had changed dramatically. "I'd like to thank Ms. Harris for teaching me how to pursue my crush. If it weren't for her, I'd probably still be pining over him."
Jessica clicked on the user's account and recognized it as the college student from before. Her previous posts had been all about academic knowledge and her feelings for her crush. However, those heartfelt confessions had recently turned into displays of affection. In fact, the student had lost some followers due to the numerous photos and updates she shared about her blossoming romance.
After discovering the ups and downs of her journey to win over her crush, many flocked to Jessica's account. The comments that used to be filled with insults were now filled with requests for advice on how to win over their crushes.
Jessica stared at the screen for a moment before scrolling down further.
"I connected with Ms. Harris, and she told me my boyfriend was a jerk. I didn't believe her. Ha! A few days ago, I found evidence of his cheating!"
"This streamer not only has tips for pursuing your crush but also possesses a keen eye. Just one look, and she can tell if your boyfriend is a jerk." "I followed Ms. Harris' method to evaluate my boyfriend, and sure enough, he's a jerk!"
