Chapter Epilogue
Well, you made it all the way here. I won’t ask you if you enjoyed it or not, because I might know the answer, depending on what type of person you are (there are very few types of people in the Commonland, though they all attempt to be unique). Now, I know the book has a few issues in terms of storyline, maybe a few punctuation errors…but give me a break, will ya? I’m a Myrian! It has been hard enough trying to get an understandable story through to you Commonlanders in time. It’s not my fault you people are so picky when it comes to stories. You’re probably wondering “Why did Angus just up and leave? That makes no sense!” or “Is Roy just going to stay in Myria now? Such an incoherent ending” or even “How the heck did that bird end up with Safira? Plot hole!”
Well, I hate to break it to ya, but in real life, not everything has to make sense. Most things don’t, actually. From my point of view, that’s the reason fiction is so distant from reality. Because everything has to make perfect sense in the end…
Anyway, I don’t have much to worry about, since a Commonlander is getting all the credit for this. Goes by the name of Nathan Milward. That’s not even his real name by the way. Guy’s a complete gorkle. I bet he put this story under the “Fiction” category, right? “Oh, look at this great Fantasy story I wrote!” We’ll have our way with him soon enough. So, whatever problems you have with this novel, blame him.
Now that I’ve revealed myself, you must know that, from now on. I’ll be speaking directly to you sometimes. There’re some very serious things happening in Myria, and it concerns the rest of the world, whether you like it or not. Soon enough, it’ll all be your problem, too. You might as well thank us for warning you. That said, we need to get to you urgently, so I might not always have time to write it all out in your “Commonland narrative format”. I’ve been trying to write as fast as I can while things unfold, so I’m also sorry if this might be out of date by the time you read it.
Anyway, I’ll be back soon. Angus will too, by the way (I believe in the Commonland you refer to this as a “spoiler”).
Keep your eyes and ears open. And please don’t pay too much attention to Nathan calling this a fantasy. This is real. Sooner or later you will give in to it.
Tread lightly,
Alfwin Humbert.
