Chapter CHAPTER 30
"Hello, Sabrina....", Richard called out, a few inches behind Sabrina almost scaring the life out of her.
"Sir!", She quickly turned back, a hand on her chest in attempt to calm the quick pace of her heartbeat. "You nearly scared the devil outtta me!". Not realizing she'd been standing like that for a while. "There's a devil inside you?", He cocks a brow jokingly.
She laughs out. "No... I didn't mean it that way sir... But...", She trails off.
"But?"
She looks away a bit embarrassed," when I was younger... I did think I was possessed by a devil..", she sarcastically laughed at the thought.
"Well... I noticed you were talking to yourself and decided to check on you",
"Really?", She plays with some flowers. "Well.. I had some company not long ago.."
"Hmmph... Which was?"
"Ohh... Don't worry about it..", She'd remembered his mother saying she wasn't in good terms with him. Angering him wouldn't be a good thing, she concludes. His eyes narrow but he decides to let it slide.
"And... There she is again..", Sabrina looks behind Richard.
Looking backwards, he sees no one. "Who?"
"Your mother, silly.."
His eyes widen then narrow with suppressed anger. "What did you say..?"
Sabrina points off, "she just stopped moving. She was the company I had a while ago"
He grips her neck in anger, "Do not... Under any circumstance, ever.... Joke with my mother's name"
"You're... chocking me..!", She struggles.
She could see Marinette run up to them crying beside her son.
"You're... making.. her... cry!.", She chokes up the words. Looking to Marinette, she saw the woman try to stop her son..... But her hands just passed through his.... She was half conscious now.... But everything was becoming clear.....
Marinette was a ghost!
"She's... a.... ghost..!", Were her last words before Hannah came running in.
"Young master!", She cried out from afar causing Richard to toss her aside.
"You're leaving this house by daybreak tomorrow... And you can forget about that job..!", He marches away with anger, even Hannah didn't attempt to stop him. Running towards Sabrina who was on the ground coughing....
"Ohh child!... What have you done!?"
Before Sabrina could reply, she'd placed a finger at her lips. "Whatever it was, I'm sure you didn't deserve this!". She helps her stand straight. "Can you walk?" She nods a bit, but she knew her left ankle just hurt to stand!
"Let's get you cleaned up, child. The young master has some issues with his temper.."
Sabrina felt like crying..... Her body hurt so bad. He really tossed her hard!
But she had to suck it in.... It was her fault for being too ignorant.
After some minutes, they made their way into the house.
Richard was back in his room trying to gather his thoughts. The other side was fighting hard to take over... He didn't understand... Upon he'd gripped her by the throat... She'd kept the whole story going?... And what was with that honest look on her face?! 'You're a monster..', it was like he could hear a voice while he pulled his hair.
THE NEXT MORNING....
Sabrina sluggishly pulled her luggage down the stairs without having breakfast. She hadn't had any meal since getting to this place! And her ankle still hurt so this was probably the fastest she could go and get a meal elsewhere. Even if it meant walking into a restaurant with her luggage.
Hannah was waiting by the door for her, a sad look on her face. She seemed even sadder than I was...
But I didn't want further embarrassment by waiting to be reminded before leaving the house.
"Sabrina....", He called out mildly signalling Hannah to leave.
She bowed her head, "I'm sorry for the stupid joke yesterday".
He cocked a brow stopping a distance away from her. "Was it really..?", Tucking both hands into his pockets. "What...?", Her eyes widen a bit.
"You were being serious.... Weren't you?"
"Uhhm...", She avoids his eyes. "I... Was...". She was scared saying those words. She didn't want more injuries!
There was silence for a while and for some reason, she expected to be slapped or choked to death.
"Come with me..", he adds before turning to leave.
"But sir... I'll miss the...", She trails off deciding not to complete her sentence. He didn't look angry.... So... Was he about to apologise?.... She wondered. Following him into the living room, he asked her to take a seat.
She did, slowly.
"Does your ankle hurt?"
"Uhhm..... A bit..."
A knee on the floor beside her. He holds up her left foot, "Is it this one?"
She tries to pull her feet away. "Sir.... You don't have to...."
"Don't worry", he waves it off. "I guess it's this one..", he lifts the right.
"Oww!"
He wraps his left hand around her ankle, about to take one of the biggest gambles of his life.
She notices something like a faint glow before he lets go. Twisting her feet about.... She realizes it doesn't hurt anymore...
'Commandment number five.... The left hand heals'.
He gets up dusting his knee although his house had dust free. It had really been a while since he'd tried healing someone... But he'd taken this risk for a good reason....
"This floor is quite clean...", He comments like nothing happened.
Sabrina just stares at him too many thoughts racing through her mind. 'Was he... Like me?..'
"I'm guessing you can see spirits or something...", His eyes narrow as he sits beside her.
She nods slowly. "Well.... I can heal..", he raises his left arm without mentioning his ability to kill.
"That's amazing!.... I've never heard of such!"
He chuckles a little, "well... It's nothing special actually", looking to his watch. "Now now... I'll be late to work", he jumps up helping her up with his right arm. "I never really got your full name..." It was now or never for him! If she didn't tell him her full name now, that only meant she never would!
"It's Sabrina. Sabrina Davidson", she outstretched her right hand.
His eyes widened at her words. So this was how fate worked? Or could it be mere coincidence?
He took her hand. 'She might prove to be more of a threat than I thought'
