The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles)

Chapter 735

"What happened?" Ronald asked as he glanced at Charles, who was seated in the back. The voice on the other end continued, "Ms. Shaw's dress was tampered with, and no one knows who did it. The press conference turned chaotic as soon as it began, and now, it's out of control." Ronald raised an eyebrow, not entirely surprised that things had gone exactly as he had anticipated.

Since Ronald had put the call on speaker, Charles heard everything. A shadow crossed his face and his expression turned cold, but a faint smirk played on his lips. "Tell them to keep the situation under control," he ordered.

"You need to control the situation there. Mr. Hoffman will be there soon," Ronald said before ending the call. He turned to Charles. "Mr. Hoffman, you didn't need to come here yourself today." Charles simply raised his hand. "Drive faster."

Ten minutes later, Charles arrived at the scene of the press conference. The chaos had somewhat subsided, and Winter had already been taken to the hospital for further examination.

The person responsible for damaging Winter's dress had been caught-it was a staff member from the hotel.

The hotel employee had confessed to being paid to tamper with Winter's dress by sprinkling some kind of powder that caused her severe allergic reactions, resulting in red blotches all over her body. When Charles arrived, the reporters and media swarmed toward him. Fortunately, the bodyguards he brought managed to keep them at bay.

"What exactly happened?" Charles demanded as he walked through a path that was cleared for him.

Once at the scene, he found the director and the scriptwriter had been escorted backstage, leaving only the security personnel and Ruby, the producer.

When Ruby saw Charles, she hurried over. "Mr. Hoffman, it's not a big deal, really. Ms. Shaw had an issue, but she's on her way to the hospital now.

"As for this man..." She gestured to the hotel staff member who was still being held by security.

"Mr. Hoffman, this has nothing to do with our hotel. We've already fired this man, and we're willing to cooperate with you in any way you need..." the hotel manager tried to explain.

Charles raised a hand, cutting him off. His eyes narrowed slightly as he pointed to the detained hotel staff member.

"Someone paid you off? Seems like your hotel doesn't pay you well enough," he remarked casually before turning to Ronald.

Understanding the cue, Ronald pulled out a check from his bag.

"Here's a check from Mr. Hoffman for ten grand. Now, tell us who hired you?" Ronald asked.

The hotel staff member's eyes gleamed at the sight of the check, and he quickly replied, "It was Ms. Baker, your cousin-Ms. Janet Baker She paid me a thousand up front to tamper with Ms. Shaw's dress, saying the powder would trigger her allergies.

"She promised another thousand once the job was done. I swear I'm telling the truth, Mr. Hoffman."

Cameras flashed wildly, and reporters eagerly began whispering and speculating. Without wasting any time, Charles gave Ronald a look and then left with Becky.

Charles managed to achieve his objective without lifting a finger. He orchestrated the entire scenario flawlessly.

After Charles left, Ronald

approached Ruby. "You know how to

handle this story, right? Make sure the PR department is fully informed. Remember, Mr. Hoffman wants this as the headline." As Ronald gave instructions, a smirk was playing on his lips.

"Well, Mr. Hoffman has other matters to attend to, so I'll leave this with you."

Ruby, being sharp, quickly

understood Ronald's message. "Ladies and gentlemen, if you have

up

any questions about what just happened, feel free to ask me," she announced, ready to manage the situation.
