Chapter 1517
"Is this any of your business?"
"I"
"So far, all I've said is that I'm thinking about our relationship. I never said you're officially my boyfriend!" Felicity spread her hands, her voice tinged with frustration. "So where I go, who I see, and who I hang out with is none of your concern, right? Even my parents don't try to control me!"
The situation took a sharp turn, leaving him somewhat bewildered, struggling to trace the origin of the conflict.
"We were just..."
"Just what?"
Felicity hadn't explicitly agreed.
Nor had she promised not to leave.
"Could you, Langston, do me a favor and drive me home later? Thanks."
...
Aurora was typically impulsive, acting on the spur of the moment, only to regret her actions when reason returned.
After their kiss, she immediately sought refuge in Craig's embrace, unwilling to face the world.
"People are watching us!"
"You noticed that too?"
Ever since that slap, eyes had been on them.
"Craig, aren't you... afraid of being with me?"
Aurora shook her head, "Of course not!"
After all, she knew everything about him from the start.
If she cared about Craig being penniless or the gap between their family backgrounds, then she, Aurora, should have been the one to break things off!
After nearly a minute of looking into each other's eyes, he finally gave in, exhaling deeply.
"Do your parents... know about me?"
"Of course!" Aurora hadn't kept it a secret. "After you saved me, they wanted to thank you in person!"
But she had stopped them.
Aurora was worried that if her parents met Craig, it would mean the end of whatever chance she and he might have.
"They wanted to thank me for saving you, not for being in a relationship with you."
"Would you stop jumping to conclusions?" she pouted. "I've already told them we're dating! Craig, I'm nearly thirty. Do you think I need to sneak around to have a boyfriend?" en FindNovel
"But..."
Aurora, growing impatient, tapped his arm, "They know who you are, what you do, and that we're together." Craig frowned again, lost in thought.
Running out of patience, she tilted her head and asked directly, "So, are you going to marry me or not?"
"Craig!" "Yes."
He, of course, wanted to marry her.
A smile immediately spread across Aurora's face. "I knew you loved me."
Craig gently caressed her cheek with the pad of his finger, careful not to press too hard because of the calluses on his hand.
Having such a radiant moon fall into his arms, he still thought it was all a dream.
"Let's not delay then. Once your mom is out of the emergency room... shall we register our marriage? We can plan the wedding later, no rush."
Even though Aurora knew that
discussing marriage while Craig's mom was in the ER was hardly appropriate, Craig was stubborn. He had finally opened up, and she feared he might change his mind the next moment.
"Hmm." Craig managed a half-smile, his voice deep, "Aurora, let me finish this last race in Zen Ville, settle my accounts, and meet your parents before we proceed."
He needed to make sure her parents were genuinely willing to entrust their precious daughter to him.
Not that... Aurora was just leading him on.
"Sure! So, when? I'll talk to my parents! My dad's always available, and my mom... she's a bit busy but she'll definitely make time!"
