The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 75 Uninvited Guest

Emily never thought she'd see Michael so soon. Wasn't he supposed to be on a business trip?

Michael's calm eyes slowly turned into a mix of anger, questioning, and disappointment. His face darkened for a moment, and his heart skipped a beat. He'd seen that look in Emily's eyes countless times, but this time, he felt a pang of guilt. He rubbed his nose, walked over, and asked, "You feeling any better?"

Emily turned her head away. She hadn't expected Michael to come back without a word, just like he left. She suddenly felt like she was just his mistress-no, not even that. She never knew his schedule, and he never bothered to inform her. She had no clue where he went or what he did. And giving "Lucky" to Sophia? That was the biggest slap in the face. He was stomping all over her dignity.

Michael spoke calmly, "I can explain about "Lucky"."

Emily reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, instantly screaming, "Michael, get out! I don't want to see you!"

Michael hadn't expected her to blow up like that. But right now, he felt that even if he explained, she wouldn't want to hear it. So he just said, "I can explain about 'Lucky', and I will give you an explanation."

Emily stayed silent, waiting for him to leave. Michael walked out of the hospital room. He really didn't want to push her buttons right now. He wanted to take care of her, but she clearly didn't want him around. Thinking of this, he decided to ask Andrew to find a caregiver.

Andrew, however, boldly suggested, "Mr. Smith, why don't you take care of Mrs. Smith yourself?"

Michael shook his head and said, "Forget it, she doesn't want to see me."

The guilt in Michael's eyes was well-hidden, but Andrew still caught it. He said, "Mr. Smith, how about I go in and explain the hairpin situation to Mrs. Smith? It's really not your fault." Michael thought for a moment and said, "Forget it. There are still things to deal with. Let's go."

Back in the car, Michael handed a box to Andrew and said, "Find someone to fix this hairpin, no matter the cost."

Now, even if he wanted to explain, he wouldn't have a chance. The hairpin was broken, and telling Emily now would only make her cry, so it was better to wait until it was fixed.

After dropping Michael off at the villa, Andrew told Ava, "Make something for Mr. Smith. He hasn't eaten in over ten hours."

On the second day of Emily's hospitalization, she didn't get the explanation Michael had promised but instead got a visit from someone else.

At that moment, Daniel was doing his routine check-up in the hospital room. Looking at the blood test report, he felt that Emily was too weak and advised her to rest well, not to overexert herself, and to avoid getting into a fight, as it could be very dangerous.

Emily smiled and touched her belly, saying, "Don't worry, the baby is very obedient. Except for occasionally making me nauseous, it's very well-behaved."

Daniel nodded, but just then, the door to the hospital room flew open. Emily barely had time to see who it was before someone rushed up and slapped her hard.

Emily was stunned. Daniel was the first to react, shouting, "Veda, what the hell are you doing?"

Veda pointed at Emily on the bed and yelled, "Emily, you shameless woman! How dare you seduce someone else behind Michael's back? Didn't I warn you to stay away from Daniel? Why didn't you listen?"

Emily, still dizzy from the slap, hadn't expected Veda to be so strong. She coldly said, "Veda, do you even remember that I'm your sister-in-law?"

Veda, seeing Emily's cold eyes, felt a bit guilty but tried to stay calm, saying, "So what? You won't be my sister-in-law for long. Besides, who told you to seduce Daniel? Didn't I warn you last time?"

Daniel's face was dark with anger. He grabbed Veda and said, "What nonsense are you spouting? This is a hospital, not a place for your drama."

Veda, hands on her hips, retorted, "Look, Daniel, you're still defending this slut. Don't be fooled by her. She's married to Michael but still tries to seduce you. She's not a decent woman." Daniel was furious and warned, "Veda, if you keep talking nonsense, do you believe I'll call Grandpa right now?"

Veda, afraid of Mason, immediately backed down, saying, "Daniel, I didn't mean it. I just can't stand her. She's in the hospital and still trying to seduce you. Don't be fooled by her." Daniel's face remained stern as he said, "Emily, rest well. I'll take her back."

But Veda, unwilling to give up, continued, "Emily, stay away from Daniel. If you dare seduce anyone behind Michael's back again, see if I will let you off."

"Seducing who?" Suddenly, Michael's voice came from the doorway. Abigail was with him. She pushed through the crowd and entered the room first. She had known Emily was hospitalized since yesterday but was delayed by other matters. She came early today, not expecting such a commotion.

"Emily, what happened to your face?" Abigail clearly saw the five finger marks on Emily's face. Abigail frowned and glared at Veda. "Did you hit Emily?"

Michael also stared at Veda, sternly asking, "Did you hit your sister-in-law?"

Veda, being young, felt guilty under their scrutinizing gazes. Daniel, however, exaggerated, "What? You hit Emily and don't dare admit it?" Veda glared resentfully at Daniel, who turned a blind eye to it. Abigail, unceremoniously, stood up, walked over to Veda, and slapped her.

Emily held her forehead, thinking this was unbelievable. It was quite satisfying to watch Abigail slap Veda to avenge her.

Veda, touching her face in disbelief, cursed, "You dare hit me."

Abigail, unflinchingly, said, "A lady of the Smith Family actually dares slap her sister-in-law? Since the Smith Family can't teach you, I'll personally teach you the rules." As she said this, Abigail glanced at Michael. Seeing he didn't object, she felt reassured.
