CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR. The whole city was in a frenzy at the outcome of the party and because of this, Damian and Teresa's fan base grew so large and they were tagged the power couple.

They were both seated in the car with Damian driving but the atmosphere was silent, Amy could feel he was angry and was trying so hard to suppress it.

"Hubby?"

"Hmm" he replied without looking away from the road.

"I know you are angry but can you let it go already? Please". "Okay" he replied and continued driving. She could still feel he was angry and decided to let him be for now, they would settle their differences when they got home. But as soon as they reached, he took his bath and went to his study for his work.

After a while, she decided to go and meet him in the study. She didn't like the silent treatment. "Hubby, I'm sorry if I annoyed you, okay" she said standing by the door. He sighed heavily, he was angry for another reason and here was his innocent wife thinking he was angry with her.

"Come" he gestured to her and she slowly walked up to him, "sit" he said pointing to his thighs and she obediently sat down.

"Do you think I am mad at you wife?" He asked.

"Then why are you not talking to me? You have been giving me the silent treatment right from when we left the party" she replied in a low tone, she wasn't liking this side of him. This was the first time she has seen him angry and she didn't want to see it again, her hubby who was always sweet to her was not talking to her and she felt wronged.

He gave a small laugh, his wife was really innocent," I am not mad at you wife, I am mad at myself. I really want to deal with those women".

Hubby" she called cupping his face in her palms," we are doing that right? Why allow them to bother you to the extent of getting angry about it. They are not worth it hubby".

He sighed heavily, he just didn't like the fact that those people had the guts to insult his wife in public, he wanted to reap out their eyes.

"I won't let Gwen off so easily".

"You can do what you want, hubby but don't let them affect you. We made a promise to each other right?, When we are outside our home, we become two Individuals with one motive but once inside our house, we should leave all the problems at the door okay".

"Okay" he replied and hugged her. This woman sure has a way of making him feel better.

"Wife?" He called after a while.

"Yes".

"I may need to travel tomorrow, an emergency just came up at the new company we launched a year back and it requires my presence".

"Okay hubby, I will go park your bags" she replied standing up from his legs. "Okay then, I will finish and come".

"Okay" she answered and walked out of the room. If there was one thing evident in both of their lives, it was the deep understanding that existed between them. As soon as she walked out, he picked his phone and called Rubby. "Boss," he said from the other end of the line.

"Did you find out what I asked you?"

"Yes boss, Gwen is also involved in the underworld just like her sister and she has also killed a few business associates who did not dance to her tunes".

"It seems both sisters are rotten to the core, since we have enough breaking news for today, leave it for tomorrow" Damian replied massaging his forehead. "Okay boss," Rubby answered and disconnected the call.

"It seems you won't really leave Gwen alone this time because she insulted me right?" Amy asked from the door, she had listened to the conversation he had a few minutes ago with Rubby.

"I really want to inflict physical pain on her but since I can't do it just yet, I can do this much right?" He asked back.

"As far as it will calm your anger, then you can. Well I am done packing your bags, time to rest you can look at these documents tomorrow".

"Don't worry, I will just finish thern and come okay, you can go on first". Amy realized he was still trying to suppress his anger In front of her and decided to let him cool off. "Don't take too long hubby" she placed a kiss on his forehead and went out.

It was 6am in the morning when Damian got ready to leave, he was already dressed and going out of the room when Amy walked out of the walk-in closet, she was also dressed.

"You have an early morning meeting?" He asked seeing her all dressed up. "I don't want to miss you like I did the last time so I have decided to come with you". She replied. "I remember you have a really important deal to close off tomorrow". "Hubby, Jem can take care of all this, just take me with you okay, I will just keep you company and not interrupt your work". He was really happy she wanted to follow him but he didn't want to interrupt her work either. "Are you sure?" He asked again and she nodded vigorously," okay then, we can spend more time together" he replied smiling as they walked out of the room. He needn't worry because he was using his private jet but the meeting was scheduled by 10 am that morning

Immediately they boarded the flight, Amy began to feel tired and she slept off. She slept throughout the whole journey and only woke up when the plane landed. " Have we arrived?" She asked in an innocent voice." Yes wife, do you feel sick? Damian asked, he was worried about her. Early that morning she was looking okay but now she looked pale. "Maybe it's the stress of yesterday that got to me, I will wait for you at the hotel okay, finish your work and come okay". "Okay, make sure you call me if you feel uncomfortable, Rubby will stay with you" he answered in a concerned tone, he really didn't want to leave her seeing her like this but he also had to take care of the work he came for. "No, you can take him with you, the driver is here right? I can take care of myself okay".

"Okay" he answered reluctantly and gave strict warnings to the driver before he drove away.

"Boss, they are already waiting for us" Rubby spoke up after the car had driven off. "They better make this meeting a quick one" he muttered under his breath. His mind was not at ease leaving her alone in her condition. His meeting finished around 12 pm and in that period of time he had called her thrice and she said she was okay, in the real sense she was feeling very sick but didn't want him to leave his meeting half way and come to her. She was laying on the bed, burning all hot when she felt the door open and someone entered, it was Damian.

"Amy" he called as he quickly moved closer to her.

"Hubby" she tried to sit up but he stopped her but on touching her body he was surprised," Amy, you are burning up".

"It's just a small fever, I will be okay." she replied in a tired tone but he would not hear any of it, he quickly grabbed his phone and called Rubby.

"I want to have a doctor in my hotel room in less than fifteen minutes." He said immediately the call connected and disconnected it afterwards.

Fifteen minutes later, Rubby guided a doctor into the room and she quickly did an examination on her.

"It's just a fever, I have prescribed some drugs for her so she will be fine and it might be my guess but I suspect she is pregnant" as the words left her mouth, Damian was speechless for a while. "Pregnant?" He asked.

"Yes, she might be three weeks gone already but you need to take her to the hospital for a proper test".

"But she will be alright right?" He asked again.

"Yes, don't worry. I gave her some drugs so she is sleeping for now" the doctor replied.

"Thank you doctor, Rubby see him out" Damian ordered and walked into the room that Amy was in. She was sleeping so peacefully and remembering that she was pregnant, his Joy knew no bounds.

"Thank you baby" he said as he gently placed a kiss on her forehead. He quickly went to freshen up and ordered some flowers for her. It was past six in the evening when she woke up and Damian was sitting by her side just staring at her. "3 Hubby" she called and tried to sit up but he stopped her.

"You need to be careful now, wife, you are carrying something inside of you," he said happily. She really didn't get him at first but when it dawned on her, she screamed so loudly and jumped on his body.

"You mean we are pregnant?" She asked again to be sure.

"Yes baby, we are pregnant” he replied and kissed her forehead," thank you for making me a complete man" he said again as he handed her a bouquet of her favorite flower. "Thanks hubby" she said as tears welled up in her eyes, she was so excited. "We need to go to the hospital to get it confirmed though but from now you have to be careful okay?". "Yes hubby" she replied and hugged him happily.
