The Brother of My Boyfriend: A Love for Two

Chapter 35

Dylan, Franco, Judith, and Mandy arrive home after the less-than-pleasant end to the engagement dinner, Judith kisses her daughter on the forehead, saying goodnight and making it clear that they're in the bedroom if they need them. She turns to Dylan, congratulating him again on their engagement and the reason for the celebration. Mandy's father hugs his daughter, shakes Dylan's hand, and asks them to behave, expressing the wish that there be no fights. They then go upstairs to their bedroom, leaving Mandy alone with Dylan. Mandy, visibly relieved, sits down on the sofa and sighs, then asks Dylan with a tone of frustration:

"I want to ask you something and I hope you'll be as honest as you've always been, did you not know she was coming?" she asks, afraid of the answer.

"My love, what kind of words are those? You have no reason to be suspicious of me, I haven't seen Raquelle in years. I never imagined that my mother would do something like this," he replies.

"I don't know why your mother hates me so much, I've never done anything to her and whenever she can, she does something to try and break us up. I know it's your mother, but when is she going to leave?" she asks.

"My love, I'm sorry for what my mother did, I'm going to have a very serious talk with her, she needs to accept that I'm never going to go back to Raquelle, you're the person I love, the woman I want to spend every day of my life with, she needs to understand that once and for all."

"Are you sure you don't have feelings for her?"

"Of course I don't, if you want I'll shout to the world how much I love you" he kisses her on the forehead.

"I love you Dylan, thank you for loving me so much, will you stay here with me today?"

"Not today love, I need to go talk to my wife, I won't be able to sleep thinking about the chaos she caused today, I promise you that tomorrow we'll be together, I'll prepare something just for the two of us, what do you think?"

"I think that's a great idea, love," she says, hugging him.

"Are you going to be all right?"

"Yes, I will"

"Then I'll be on my way, the sooner I can sort this out the better, see you tomorrow, I love you" he kisses her

"I love you too"

Mandy walks Dylan to the door, after giving her a kiss he walks to his car, turns back to give one last wave with his hands gets in the car, and drives to his apartment.

Morgana, Jason, and Megan arrive at the apartment the silence maintained throughout the trip ends as soon as they set foot inside the apartment, Jason expresses his irritation at what his mother did by inviting Raquelle without warning knowing that it was an important moment for his brother

"How could you do such a thing, Mom, inviting Raquelle knowing that Dylan would be uncomfortable?" he says, unhappy with the situation.

"I didn't think he'd be uncomfortable, and besides, Raquelle's family, so I can't stop talking to her just because your brother's decided he's going to marry someone else." Morgana tries to justify it.

"I'm sorry to butt in, Aunt Morgana, but even I felt uncomfortable, the atmosphere was heavy, and I'm not just saying that because I'm Mandy's best friend, but because I'd like to be at a dinner party with one of Jason's exes," Megan argues. "Megan, my dear daughter-in-law, are you sure Mandy is your friend? We're all capable of hurting someone at some point in our lives, don't trust and defend people so much that you don't let them down," Morgana insinuates.

"I don't know what you mean by that, but I trust Mandy completely, we were brought up together, and she would never do anything to hurt me," Megan says.

"Megan, my love, don't give my mother any idea, she doesn't like Mandy at all, that's nothing new, so there's nothing good to say, will you wait for me in the bedroom?" Jason suggests

"I'll wait in the bedroom then, excuse me," Megan says.

Silence took over until Megan left towards the bedroom, hearing the sound of the bedroom door closing, Jason continued the conversation with his mother.

"Don't involve Megan in your paranoia, if you don't like Mandy that's your business now don't try to put their friendship in the middle" Jason says angrily.

"Jason, I put you in this world, I know very well how you are, don't think that you and Mandy have been fooling me since the day you were trapped on that island, something doesn't smell right, whatever it is, stop it because I'm going to find out, Dylan is your brother, he doesn't deserve this."

"What are you talking about? What's the matter with you? I know Dylan's my brother and I'd never hurt him. Don't make things up where there aren't any. We were trapped and that's all. Don't put me in the middle of your paranoia, and don't you dare say anything like that in front of Dylan or Megan."

"I'm not going to upset your brother with this, and I hope I'm wrong, I think you'd better go back to Canada"

"Don't talk nonsense, I'm not going back to Canada, I'm not leaving my girlfriend and please, Mom, let's put an end to this," he says and walks to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To cool off after all the nonsense I've heard, tell Megan I won't be long" ------

Jason walks out of his apartment and into the elevator, his mind full after a conversation with his mother, he gets out of the elevator and walks down to the building's garage, gets into his car, and decides to go to a bar, but as he drives, his thoughts take him to Mandy, so he decides to go to her house.

When he arrives at Mandy's house, he stops his car on the next street and looks out of his bedroom window. He notices that the light is still on, so he tries to climb out onto her balcony and knocks on the door.

"Jason, what are you doing here?" she asks in surprise.

"I don't know, are you going to let me in?" he replies

"Come in before my parents see you."

"I had an argument with my mother and wanted to get some air, I was going to a bar but along the way, I couldn't stop thinking about you and here I am"

"Why did you fight?"

"Because I didn't like what she did. She shouldn't have made you uncomfortable at dinner, let alone invited Raquelle over just to hurt you."

"I don't know what I did to her to make her dislike me"

"It's not your fault, my mother was always like that"

Jason begins to stare at Mandy, making her feel a little shy.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asks.

"Admiring" he caresses her face

"Don't do that Jason, I don't want to be cheated on by Dylan" she tries to pull away

"Are you going to get married?" he asks

"Come on, not right now, but we will, he just wants to wait for me to finish college for a year."

"I was taken aback by that dinner, I thought it was just to get the family together"

"I see, look Jason, I don't mean to be rude, but I think it's getting late, and you'd better go," she asks.

"Are you sure?"

"Sure of what?"

"That you're going to marry him? Do you love him?

"And why shouldn't I? Look, I don't have to explain my feelings to you. Please go away."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't get involved, can I kiss you before I go? On the cheek, of course.

"Yes!"

Jason pulls away to kiss Mandy's cheek for a few seconds, he stops and smells her perfume, he kisses her cheek, and they both stare at each other, Mandy can't resist Jason's gaze, and she pulls him close to her, Jason puts his hands on her cheeks and kisses her, Mandy whispers "we can't do this", but kisses him back, with their bodies pressed together Jason can feel Mandy's heart racing, with every slide of his hands, Jason brings his hand down to Mandy's ass, squeezing hard as he does so, eliciting soft gasps from her.
