The Brother of My Boyfriend: A Love for Two

Chapter 32

After finishing the conversation with her father, Mandy decides to go look for her mother. While her father heads to the bedroom to rest, Mandy hurriedly descended the stairs, calling for her mother, but received no response. The silence in the house was almost deafening. Determined to find her mother, she decided to go to the backyard.

Upon arriving there, Mandy saw her mother carefully watering the plants. A sigh of relief escaped her lips upon seeing her, but she also felt the weight of her own thoughtless words.

"Can I join you, Mom?" Mandy asked cautiously, fearing her mother's reaction.

Her mother looked at her, her expression still marked by discontent, but nodded silently. Mandy approached, smelling the damp soil and feeling the serenity of the garden.

Words of apology flowed from Mandy, laden with sincerity. "I know that nothing I say will change the sadness I've caused, Mom. But I want to apologize. I've been so restless lately, and I ended up unloading my problems on you. Nothing justifies what I said."

Her mother looked into Mandy's eyes, and after a moment of silence, spoke in a gentle voice: "Of course I forgive you, my daughter." She embraced Mandy, conveying a comfort she desperately needed.

"Whatever you're going through, you can share it with us, with me, and with your father. We'll do our best to help you," her mother said, demonstrating unwavering love.

Mandy felt a lump in her throat dissolves. She was no longer alone in her problems. With courage, Mandy gathered strength to share about the threats in the exams and Dylan's proposal.

Her mother looked at her with eyes full of genuine joy. "He proposed to you? That's wonderful, my daughter! Congratulations!" She hugged her, overflowing with happiness.

Mandy, though grateful for the support, felt uncomfortable agreeing with her mother's enthusiasm. "Yes, he's amazing," she replied, trying to shift the focus.

"That's why he called me to set up a dinner. At first, I found it strange, especially coming from him, who doesn't like weekday dinners. Wow, I'm so happy. You hit the jackpot, my daughter, and I don't mean financially because your father and I have always provided everything for you. I mean in terms of the person Dylan is, he does everything to make you happy," Judith says, smiling.

"He is an incredible boyfriend. I'm going to go upstairs to take a shower and see what I'll wear for dinner. Are you coming, Mom?" she tries to deflect.

"Go ahead, my daughter. I'll finish up here and join you to pick out my outfit," Judith replies.

"Alright then."

After the emotional conversation with her daughter, Mendi returned inside, leaving Judith in the garden. As he walked away, Judith felt a wave of happiness overflow in her heart. She couldn't contain the joy that enveloped her. With a radiant smile on her face, Judith began to sing. Her voice, soft and melodious, danced in the air, accompanying the rhythm of the gently falling droplets on the flowers. It was as if nature itself was celebrating along with her.

While singing, Judith continued to water the flowers with love and care, as if she were sharing her joy with every petal and leaf. The garden seemed to come to life, responding to the enchanting melody that filled the air.

The sound of water mixed harmoniously with the music, creating a unique symphony that echoed through the tranquility of the backyard. Each note was like a ray of sunshine, illuminating the space and filling it with revitalizing energy. Judith felt grateful for this moment of pure happiness, knowing that this garden was more than just plants and flowers. It was a place of connection, healing, and celebration of life.

And so, under the serene, starlit sky, Judith continued to sing and water her precious flowers, enveloping the garden in an aura of joy and gratitude. It was a moment that would be etched in her memory, a testament to the beauty and magic that life could offer.

Dylan's mother arrived at the company's reception with a warm smile, being greeted by the friendly receptionist. "Hello, good afternoon," she greeted, and then explained, "I came to see my son."

The receptionist offered help, asking, "Would you like me to announce you?"

Dylan's mother kindly declined, saying, "No, dear, thank you." She headed for the elevator and went up to the third floor. Gently, she knocked on Dylan's door.

"Come in," Dylan replied from inside the office.

Upon entering, Dylan looked surprised at his mother. "Wow, Mom, what a surprise! I didn't expect it to be you."

Smiling, Dylan's mother explained, "Oh, my child, I was doing some shopping and decided to come see how you're doing."

Dylan lit up with her presence. "I'm very happy, Mom. And today, I have a surprise for everyone. I'm taking them out to dinner."

His mother opened a smile, curious. "Does it have something to do with work? What is it? Give me a hint?"

Dylan, with a sparkle in his eyes, replied, "It's something very important to my life, Mom. And I know that if you love me, everyone loves me, and everyone will like the surprise I have. So, get dressed up nicely because we're going out to dinner."

Dylan's mother couldn't contain her surprise. "My child, I also have a very good surprise for you. Someone who was a part of your life, your childhood, is in town. I wanted to know if you would allow them to come to this special dinner with us. I'm sure you'll like it."

Curious, Dylan asked, "And who is this person, Mom?"

His mother smiled mysteriously. "Oh, my child, you'll find out at the right time. But I know it will make you very happy."

Dylan, unaware of what it could be, agreed with his mother. "Well, if it's someone important, someone I care about, then you can invite them. I'll just finish up what I need to do here, and then we can go home together, what do you think?" His mother nodded with a radiant smile. "Oh, my child, then I'll sit here and wait for you."

She began to admire the room, complimenting, "Wow, my child, how beautiful the room looks, doesn't it? You've arranged everything here so elegantly." Dylan, proud of his work, thanked his mother with gratitude for her support.

The hours continued to pass, and finally, Dylan managed to complete what he was doing. He and his mother headed towards the reception, ready to leave.

Dylan approached his secretary with a gentle smile. "Goodnight. Amanda, see you tomorrow. Until tomorrow."

The secretary responded courteously, "Until tomorrow, Mr. Dylan. Until tomorrow, Mrs. Morgana. I hope you both have a great evening."

Dylan and his mother walked towards the building's garage to get the car. The path there was accompanied by an atmosphere of joy and anticipation, both eager for the special dinner that awaited them. The car was waiting, ready to take them to a memorable moment together.
