Chapter 110 It's Not about What You Think, It's about What I Think
Soon enough, Alexander got out of the hospital and strutted into the apartment. Allison had planned to move out, but she put it off to take care of him.
When the car pulled up downstairs, Alexander acted like he couldn't do anything on his own. Allison got out and went to help him, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and holding his waist.
Declan got out of the car and saw this, feeling pretty disgusted. "What's he doing? Acting all weak? This is the guy who got stabbed a bunch of times and still fought back. Now he breaks a few bones and he's useless?" James kept his mouth shut and quickly went to grab stuff from the trunk.
Declan shook his head, carried the items upstairs, and when he saw the familiar room, he sneered to himself, 'Alexander's so sly, just trying to trick Allison into staying with him!'
"You sit on the couch and take a break, I'll get you some water," Allison said, busy and sweating.
Seeing her head into the kitchen, Declan plopped down next to Alexander. "Mr. Carter, this is too much. She's just a girl, running around, and you're just sitting here. Don't you feel guilty?"
Alexander rolled his eyes at him and glanced towards the kitchen. "If you've got nothing to do, get lost. And I heard your grandma wants to make Oliver the VP of your company. You should check his background abroad. I always thought he was shady."
Declan got annoyed at the mention of Oliver. His company was built by his dad and had grown over two generations. But Allegra insisted on making his cousin Oliver the VP, and his dad was too compliant.
"Don't worry about me, worry about Allison. Preston's back in town, and I heard he's back for money. He won't leave Allison alone, so watch out!" Declan patted Alexander's shoulder and left. Alexander frowned and headed to the study with James.
Allison came out and noticed he wasn't on the couch, feeling a bit puzzled. Then she heard Felicity say, "Ms. Bennett, Mr. Carter has something to discuss with James. They went to the study. You should take a shower, you're all sweaty. I'll make you some watermelon juice!"
Allison nodded and went to the guest room to shower and change. The master bedroom was still Alexander's since it was his place.
After showering, Allison got a call from Mia. "Allison, you're finally back. Did you find a new love and forget about me?"
Allison, feeling helpless, sat on the bed, drying her hair with a towel. "I just went to a competition. No new love. Even if there was, I wouldn't forget you!"
Mia was thrilled and wanted to hang out.
Allison thought for a moment and arranged to meet in three days because she needed to sort out Alexander's life in the meantime. Mia wasn't upset and happily agreed.
When Allison came out, Alexander had already gone to the master bedroom. James had helped him shower and change, and now he was lying on the bed reading documents.
Allison frowned at the sight. "Leave the company stuff to James for the next few days. You need to rest! I'll get you some medicine later. Besides your injuries, your body's not in great shape, and your stomach ulcer is bad. You need medication for that!"
She slipped into doctor mode, and Alexander instantly became the obedient patient. Seeing Alexander's pale face, James couldn't help but chuckle to himself. Alexander was terrified of injections and medicine, thinking he could dodge it at home, but it turned out to be even stricter.
"Allison, I think I'm fine. I probably don't need..." Alexander started.
"Alexander, it's not about what you think, it's about what I think. You need to trust me as your doctor!" Allison cut him off.

Alright, Alexander was completely subdued. James thought to himself that only Allison could keep him in check.
In the afternoon, Allison took Felicity shopping and came back with a ton of medicinal supplies. Felicity was in charge of making sure Alexander took his meds.
With that, Alexander suddenly regretted moving into the apartment. Wasn't this just asking for trouble?
After taking a dose of medicine, he felt as if his soul was about to leave his body. The bitterness was beyond words.
Felicity said, "Mr. Carter, though the medicine is bitter, it's good for your health. This is Ms. Bennett's care for you. You should cherish it!" Alexander's face was a picture of misery, while Allison watched and secretly laughed.
After Felicity left the bedroom, Alexander grabbed Allison's hand, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her, letting her taste the medicine.
Allison's tongue went numb from the kiss before Alexander let go.
"It's just some medicine. Look how miserable you are. Good night, I'm going to sleep!" Allison said, trying to return to her room, but Alexander held her hand. "Why not sleep with me?" Alexander asked, and Allison quickly let go of his hand, her face turning red.

"Felicity is still at home. You're too shameless!" Saying this, Allison ran away, and Alexander watched her back, smiling slyly.
He pondered, 'So, if Felicity isn't home, it'll be okay? That's what she means.'
Meanwhile, at Bennett Manor, Hayden was clutching his chest, struggling to breathe. Jonah quickly gave him medicine, while Preston stood there, not caring about Hayden's condition.
Preston said, "Dad, I thought you were just giving Allison some shares at most. But you even let her inherit Serenity Manor. That's our Bennett family property. Why should she inherit it? I don't accept it!" Serenity Manor was the estate that needed renovation.
Preston continued to press aggressively, and Hayden pointed at him, shouting, "Preston, she's your biological daughter. Don't you feel guilty for what you've done to her?"
Preston retorted, "Guilty for what? This is what the Bennett family and Allison owe me!"
With that, Hayden slapped him, then fainted from anger.
Allison received Jonah's call just as she was about to sleep. She quickly threw on some clothes and rushed out of the room.
"What happened?" As she was about to leave, Alexander called out to her.
"Grandpa fell ill. I'm going to the hospital. You stay home and rest. I can handle it!" Then Allison left.
Alexander wanted to follow, but a sharp pain in his chest stopped him. So he could only catch his breath and turn back to the bedroom to find his phone. "The Bennett family is in trouble. Go to the hospital and watch over Allison immediately!"
