Ace POV

I watched Alexei run into the forest and heard his howl as he meet up with our warriors, I help Star into the front seat of the SUV, and k**s her, “promise me you will be safe, my darling, if anything happens, I will do as Ash tells me, so you do not have to worry about me. Just keep yourself safe, please.”

Crashing my lips to hers, “you are f*****g incredible. Do you know that? I love you Tink. I promise I will stay safe.”

Ash bundles Max, Suzie, Nat and Sophia into the back of the car. Looking back at my girl, I k**s her again, and she whispers, “I love you, baby,” in my ear. I look over at my brother, “Take care of our girls and I will meet you at home, two cars in front and I will bring up the rear. If anything happens we will cover you and you drive like hell, ok?”

“We will be fine, brother. See you at home.”

I get in my car and wait until Oliver and Kurtis’s cars pull out. Ash pulls behind them and I follow. “Maximus? We need to be on high alert. I have a bad feeling.”

He growls in my head, “me too Ace, I feel like what has happened to Liam is a diversion, they want our girl unprotected, they think we are stupid, but they will learn that they have underestimated us, they will feel the full wrath of three pissed off Alpha wolves and the raw power of our mate, they are f****d.”

I grin at my wolf. He is primed and ready to kill anyone that gets in the way.

The drive is uneventful for the first fifteen minutes, then Kurt’s links, “here we go peeps, there are to cars blocking the road, and I am sure I saw movement in the forest, Olly and I will move the cars, Ash get our girls home.”

The sound of metal hitting metal sounds out loud on the country road. As I round the bend, I see our two cars pushing the roadblock out of the way. As soon as there is space, Ash guns the SUV and speeds through.

Pulling over, I get out of the car. The boys do the same and we all run for the forest, shifting as soon as we pass the tree.

Line the rogues’ attack as soon as my paws hit the ground.

They are f*****g everywhere. How the f**k have they got this many? I see four rogues jump on Oliver and race to him.

Killing anything that gets in my way. By the time I get to Oliver, he has killed two of the fuckers. I grab the closest one and snap his neck. Olly takes the head off the last one.

Just as I think we are making headway, a howl rings out in the distance, f**k that is definitely not one of ours.

My boys stand beside me, waiting for the next wave.

“Here we go boys, stay strong. Ash will have called for backup by now, so we just need to keep them busy.”

The sound of paws pounding the ground is followed by what sounds like a hundred growls. I close my eyes. I love you Star.

and then the attack.

Twenty minutes later, they are still coming, f**k I am tired. I have lost touch with how many assholes I have killed, but they are pushing us into a corner.

We all have spilt some b***d, but Aiden is bleeding badly. We can’t take much more of this. The fuckers are stalking us, their stench burning my nostrils.

Just when I am sure we are done for, I hear the howls of our warriors. Thank f**k, I howl in reply.

The rogues closest to us keep coming, and we stand, blocking Aiden from them.

Our warriors attack from the rear, the sound of tearing flesh fills the air, I turn to Kurtis and see the same exhaustion in his eyes, but also a determination that he is not done yet, I nod, and turn back to the stalking rogues.

With my loudest roar, I run at them, fighting with everything I have.

I see our men drop one by one. The enemy is running out of fighters but so are we, two jump on my back and I feel razor-sharp claws dig into my back.

This is it.

And then I hear it, a roar that I recognise better than my own, and a streak of black fur.

My brother has come for us. Three wolves rip apart the last of the rogues.

I see Cam, in human form, literally ripping a wolf in half with his bare hands. f**k, he is a machine. I am so glad he is on our side.

I limp over to my men. Aiden has shifted back, and he looks like s**t. Cam throws us clothes and we all shift and pull on shorts and t-shirts.

Alexei walks over and I hug the s**t out of him, “your timing is definitely getting better, I think you are my favourite sibling right now.”

He grins, “come on big bro, let’s get you all home. Our girls are worried about us.”

We all limp back to the road. Apart from Aiden, Cam has carefully picked him up and is carrying him bridal style. The i***t is grinning like a fool.
