Chapter 21
Chapter 21
ISABEL
“I honestly don’t want to go on a date with him. I mean he was chiller and strolling with him the other day was nice but still. I don’t feel like it,” I confessed sincerely to Adeline.
“Oh don’t give me such bull s hit. What harm would it cost for you if you went out with him? I mean this guy has been nice and you said it yourself. He came through for you a lot of times when you didn’t expect. Get to know him more,” Adeline said.
I ran my finger through my hair. “I honestly want to but I’m not sure. I don’t see myself ever being committed with anyone again.”
“You won’t know that unless you give it a try. The past is the past Don’t get me wrong Isabel and also I know you are a strong and capable woman and you’ve been doing well for a long time but I just want you to know that at some point in the kid’s life, they’d need a fatherly figure in their life.”
“Since you don’t ever plan on letting the kids know about their father, which one they would want to, you have to start planning against it. Tim has shown he’s capable. He also knows about your kids yet he didn’t stay away.
“I want to give it a try but I’m scared. It terrifies me. The past comes back in a dream once in a while and I’m haunted by it. You don’t know how scary it is for me,” tears filled my eyes, threatening to not slip anytime soon.
Adeline moved closer to me. “Oh darling don’t cry. You don’t have to keep letting the past be your problem. That’s why it’s the
past. Today is the present and that should be your focus. You only have to focus on the things that matter and not the things that don’t.”
She wiped the teardrop that slipped down my cheek. “It’s either you haven’t moved on from Logan that’s why you are being this way or you are refusing to move on. At the end of the day, it’s all on you. You should be the one to take the next step.”
She did state a point but I wasn’t sure if I was the problem or I wasn’t. I knew that I disliked Logan so much. I loved him to the point it broke me. I wasn’t sure exactly how to feel afterward I never healed properly.
“1”
“Shhh. Listen to me, Isabel. You will go out on that date with him and get to know him. I will watch your kids okay? You won’t let Logan be the one to hinder you forever. I mean you said it yourself, he’s married and I’m also glad you never aborted those beautiful babies of yours because that’s how you’d be single and celibate.”
I laughed hard at Atleline’s last remark. She just knew how to lighten the mood.
“Alright Adeline,” I sighed.
“Don’t cry. Feel strong and be the confident woman I first knew. You avoiding and ending up not dating Tim would only prove Logan right when he claimed that you won’t last with Tin I mean you haven’t started dating Tim and you want to call things off. Make it make sense?” A lopsided grin formed on her face.
“You are right. I will get dressed and show up. I will try and give him a chance. That’s the right thing and that’s what I’d do.” I
said.
“Now that’s my friend and I’m proud of you.” She smiled at me.
I took out some dresses from my wardrobe so that she could help me choose from the outfit. “So which of these dresses do you think I should wear for tonight?”
“The short one. You need to remember how old you are and dress se xy. You want to keep him thirsty, don’t you?” Adeline

raised her brows in a teasing manner and I rolled my eyes at her in return.
“Oh come on. Just because you have two babies doesn’t mean you should forget your age. You are in your mid-twenties and you should try exploring your sexual life. Sometimes that’s just all we need you know?”
“Can you go a day without talking about sex?” I asked.
“What are you? A child? Oh, come on. You had sex to have those children and I’m sure you are missing it, don’t you?” She teased.
Sex? I haven’t recalled them over the years but sex with Logan was good. Logan was good with my body. He knew my body understood my body and left me wanting more every time we had sex.
I shook my head refusing to go down that lane because it was in the past and what mattered was the date.
“Okay. But don’t think I’m going on a date to have sex. Maybe you can use that energy to focus on the man who knows you as Rosalie.” I smiled cheekily at her.
“Don’t worry. I’d never come across him again and even if I did he wouldn’t come close because I already made it clear to him that I’m not Rosalie and if he has brains then he’d know to stay away.”
I touched my face with a little makeup after putting on my dress
“Make sure to take the kids on a walk okay? I will make sure to come back ever,” I said to Adeline.
“Oh please. Why the rush? There is no need to hurry up back. I mean why are you hurrying back? Take your time and if you won’t come back home tonight then there’s no problem. I can stay with the kids after all I’m their godmother,” she winked at
“You are so impossible, Adeline. I’m done. Anyway, I will be going there. Love you,” I said as I walked out of my room.
I walked into my kid’s room. Their nanny was with them. “I will be leaving now. When you want to leave, you can. Adeline is around,” I said to her.
“Alright then.” She replied.
I leaned down and kissed the cheeks of my babies. “Aunt Adeline will be with you people and she will take care of you okay?”
“Yes, mummy,” Emma said.
I feel blessed every time I look at my kids.
“Mummy, when will you be back?” Ethan asked.
“Don’t worry, mummy won’t take long. Mummy will come back home as soon as she can okay?” I kissed even once more on their cheek before getting back on my feet.
I left the house and went over for my date.
“Hi. I’m so sorry I’m late,” I apologized as I joined Tim at the table.
“No. You are not late. I came early,” he replied.
“Oh, I see.” He pulled back the seat for me and I sat.
He handed over the menu to me. “You look beautiful.”
I smiled in return. “Thank you.”

Chapter 21
“I was a little surprised seeing you dressed this way. You looked stunning, I almost mistook you. I mean don’t get me wrong. You’ve always been beautiful but tonight is a little different and I’m glad you decided to take that much time for tonight.”
I felt a little happy that he was glad by it although I felt bad at the same time that I didn’t want to come.
Tim wasn’t a bad person and he has shown that. Adeline was right and I needed to give him a chance.
“Waiter.” He called.
The waiter came and took out the order. Shortly the waiter came back with our order.
“Enjoy your meal,” the waiter said before he walked away.
The dinner went well. We had a simple conversation about our interest in live and funny conversation. The food was also nice too and it felt relaxing. At first, it started a little uptight but as the second went by, we relaxed and I had a good time.
Tim was not intelligent and he was good with words. He spoke carefully with me.
“I don’t know if it’s fast or anything but I’ve confessed to you how I felt about you Isabel. I like you. I don’t usually feel this way about anyone and I’m not lying when I tell you this but I like you Isabel and I want to be more than a friend to you.”
If I said I was surprised by his confession then I’d be lying because I expected this from him. I expected him to confess his feelings because that was the purpose of the date but hearing him say it only made me feel tense.
“I’m not rushing you or asking you to give me an answer but I’d love it if you permit me to court you and I’d love it if you give me a chance. I promise you that you won’t regret it.” He looked into my eyes as he confessed those words.
I was scared but being scared wouldn’t take me anywhere. I knew I needed to take a chance and see where this goes. It couldn’t be that bad after all.
I took in a deep breath and exhaled. I opened my mouth to say something but ended up closing it. I could tell he was nervous and was patiently waiting for my answer
I didn’t want to reject him although a part of me didn’t want me lying to myself. I knew I had to take the risk. I knew I had to give it a try or I’d never know.
“Alright.” I smiled.
“Really? You mean you’d give us a try? You mean you are permitting me to court you?” He asked and I nodded my head.
“Yes, Tim. That’s what I meant.” I said.
“Oh my goodness!” He was happy. He was genuinely happy.
I smiled harder seeing him happy. Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea after all.
The night ended well and he drove me home since I came with a taxi.
“Thanks for coming out tonight and thanks for your response. I’m still not over it,” Tim said as he led me towards my house.
-Thanks for tonight. It was fun and I enjoyed myself,” I told him sincerely.
“Mummy!” I heard the voice of Ethan.
I turned behind to see Adeline with the twins and it seemed they were just coming back from taking a walk.
“Oh my babies,” I smiled harder seeing them as I walked to meet them halfway.

Chapter 21
“Hi” Adeline said to Tim who was standing behind me.
“Hi” He replied.
“Let me officially introduce you guys. Adeline meet Tim and Tim Adeline, my best friend.” I introduced.
“Nice to meet you, Adeline, Tim said, stretching his arms for a handshake.
“Nice to meet you handsome. I’ve heard a lot about you,” Adeline remarked and I rolled my eyes.
“That’s good then.” He said.
“Mummy, I’ve missed you,” Emma said.
I took her up in my arms. “Mummy missed you so much.”
“Isabel.” Just then I heard someone call my name. The voice was so familiar that even if I was asleep and I heard it, I’d know who it belonged to.
I slowly turned around and in front of me was Logan.
