The Abandoned Hunter

Chapter 207: The Demon Generals - Part 3: The Undying Flames

Even after using the skill, he found absolutely no one in the surrounding. The demon Lord Alon also tried to search for survivors however even he couldn't find even a single living being in the flames.

Despite being hurt by the flames he continued his search but there was no one present there.

Not even their ashes could be found. The flames were so hot that the ashes had disappeared too.

Although it was shocking, it could be possible if it were the demon generals.

After thinking that Alon sighed. The tears that flew down his eyes evaporated right away due to the excess heat of the flames.

Jay could no longer watch this happen.

He thought that this was just too much. Since the moment he arrived in this realm, all he had seen was flames and killing.

Other than that there was nothing else, of course, he wasn't including the things that Alon did for him.

He just walked through flames until all the flames disappeared successfully inside him, an act which was performed by the Dark Overlord in the past.

As mentioned, most parts of hell were covered in flames so living there was almost impossible.

That was the reason why the inhabitants wanted to conquer earth so that they could live there after all it was found to be suitable.

Even after they helped the demons, the flames just covered way too much of their land.

It was the dark overlord who sucked all the flames into his body with the help of the Dark Devourer.

While Jay used the Dark Overlord used that skill, Jay used the Blaze Sucker skill.

Thankfully due to that, he was able to engulf the flames.

Their skills and times might have been different, but the acts they committed were exactly the same.

Jay continued to walk until he finally saw the large castle surrounded by flames.

"I believe that the demon generals would be inside this palace…"

Alon mentioned that the name of the palace was – Blood-Flame Palace.

It was a palace built by humans after many sacrifices in Hell. It wouldn't catch fire, no matter how strong the fire was – at least they considered the strongest fire to be the Undying flames.

In any case, Jay was quite angry and openly challenged the generals who were inside the palace.

"You bastards!"

"What are you doing inside?"contemporary romance

"Come out and fight me!", actually, Alon said this instead of Jay.

All the three things above were said by Alon who couldn't contain his anger.

Jay had planned to do the same but oh well, now that Alon had done that, there was nothing to worry about to begin with.

The demon generals who were resting inside heard the voice but decided not to go.

*yawns*

"Did you hear something?", a demon with long sheep-like horns, that are curled on the head, asked this.

"Ah-"

"Might be some bit*h."

"Forget it.", a demoness who was next to the horned demon said this.

All their skins were red-colored just like any other Acro demon that Jay had seen earlier.

"Looks like that demon lord has come here.", another demon lord who seemed quite thin when compared to bulky horned demon said this while peeking from the window.

The demon who said this was a bit distinct from the rest. While both of them mocked openly and didn't even care about anything, it was this person who was always serious.

He was the one in charge of most of the paper works or other works.

While the female demon had a whip as her weapon and the horned demon used his fists and nothing else, the third general held a sword.

It was a katana, which closely resembled the ones from the human world!

That demon too had red skin all over his body but there was something else that made him different from others.

There were black stripes with yellow marks near his eyes which started from lower eyelashes, continued down the face, and ended near the lips.

"That pus*y is back again?", the horned demon asked while eating something.

"Yes.", he just nodded his head.

"Oh come on Davy, what are you worried about?", the female demon asked.

Davy was the name of the demon with katana.

"Isn't being careful better than being careless, Reina?"

The name of the female demon was Reina, this was confirmed from what he said.

"And Borthod, you too…"

"Stop eating…"

The horned demon was named Borthod. In any case, after hearing this, Borthod just laughed it out.

But why was Davy being so cautious?

It was because of Jay, he had never seen him earlier so on seeing him he thought that it was better to be careful.

Well, that was not the only reason, he could see that he was a human but despite being one, he was able to walk through the flames of the city.

When Davy took the liberty to look at the city, he found that the flames had vanished.

"Oh come on, there is nothing to worry about if it's regarding that prick.", was what Reina said.

"The flames of the city have died out…", Davy said this all of a sudden instead of responding to what Reina was saying.

"So what Davy?", Borthod asked.

Either he was acting or he was really ignorant by what Davy wanted to say.

It seemed like Reina was also not serious about what he said because she didn't give much attention to that.

"I repeat…"

"The flames in the city have died out.", he said again.

Now, this was something that caught Reina's attention. All three of them knew each other well.

So seeing him say the same thing twice when he dislikes talking the most out of all was a bit shocking.

"The flames in the city have died out…"

"The flames…"

"The flames!?", Reina finally realized what Davy was trying to say!

"The Undying flames died!?", she exclaimed.

Borthod finally realized what both of them were speaking about.

"Wait what!?"

"The undying flames died!?", he rushed towards the window to take a look if that was the truth.

And indeed, he couldn't spot any rising flames from the city.

There were many windows there so it was obvious that they looked from different ones.

Reina was shocked to see that too.

"How can that be?"

The demons can't possibly produce the undying flames, but there is an artifact that can produce the undying flames.

They were testing that in the process of which they burnt the town.

Of course, they put a barrier all around it that would stop the flame from spreading however little did they know that the flames that were said to be undying, were extinguished!

To be precise, they vanished to nothingness!

*gulp*

"Just what happened to them?"

Reina and Borthod, both were extremely surprised when all of a sudden they heard the loud scream again.

"You bastards!"

"Get out here!"

The demon generals then took the privilege to look at the so-called prick who was outside.

"Huh? A human?", Reina and Borthod were extremely surprised to see a human.

They deducted him to be a human just from his skin color.

Looks like they had seen humans earlier.

"Was that human able to reach here because the flames died?", Reina asked.

That could have been a correct answer however the main question was being left out.

"But how did the flames die in the first place?", Davy asked.

While they were discussing amongst themselves, Alon was continuously shouting.

It seemed as if they put a sound-proof barrier when he started bugging them due to this Alon was just wasting his energy in shouting.

Jay understood why they were so conflicted and worried at the moment.

That was because he had seen the notification earlier.

'Ding'

[ Undying Flames ]

[ -> Flames that never die ]

[ -> The flames tend to borrow the mana in nature ]

[ -> They burn from and through mana ]

[ -> They have a sub-space that can store mana ]

[ -> If mana supply is cut for a century, the flames will die ]

This clearly meant that the flames had quite a lot of mana, of course, nearly infinite when compared to the amount required to burn.

Jay knew that the demons would be shocked after seeing the flames disappear.

This was not something he had planned earlier, but after seeing the situation, he took the right decision.

"You bastards!"

"Come down if you dare!"

"…"

To be continued…
