Chapter Journey to the past 17
After countless seconds of trying to calm down, the lingering thought of his mate in that building made it extremely hard for him to gather his resolve. "Please let her go" he begged, but rather the wizard stretched out a smirk without a care in the world, he felt the need to be happy, the need to let go and try to explore real life.
The lingering thought of how everything, how they started, and how they ended making love resulting in her pregnancy, make him want to desperately materialize and help the woman that ever mattered to him, he took in a deep breath while trying to understand something.
There was vile humor in him, the one that managed to curve a smile on his face, it was a memory that slipped.
Despite the great distance between Jefferson and Lucius, he was able to see the smile that was etched on his face, he was confused not until a tear managed to slip.
Out of anger, he roughly let Rose fall to the ground, he was agitated with his actions, and he attempted to use his weakness, but it proved futile.
When Jefferson noticed that she was falling from the tall building, the highest building in the vampire kingdom, that's when he immediately try to transform into an angry dragon, a raging one, the one with so much killing intent. He flew his wings towards her, before he managed to have her in his grip, he let out a growl.
But before he could reach her, she has already landed on the ground. she was unmoving, she was bleeding, her bones cracked, her joint fractured, and her heart was beating gently. Jefferson held her tightly, he clutched to her as if his life depended solely on it.
"Please.... please don't leave me" he cried, so much hurt can be felt, so much pain can he hear, so many tears of internal bleeding can be seen.
"I. I love you Jefferson" she voice out gently because she was almost dying.
Jefferson regretted, not surrendering to Lucius, he thought he can help her before she lands on the ground, he transformed back to his human form, before he kissed her lips gently.
"Of course, you could have helped her and I know your intentions, that's why I used my spell to make her land on the ground before your arrival, I had to speed up the gravity of the fall" Lucius sent him a mind link, while he laughed huskily. Jefferson felt so angry, but what mattered to him was his mate.
"Did you remember how we met" she cried, her voice etched with pain before she curved her lips to a gentle smile.
"Yes..." He trailed, while hot tears paved their way down to his face, he wanted to save her, but she was bleeding, her face was beyond recognition.
"I'll be ready to do anything just to have you back, I meant anything" he cried, so without wasting time, he gently took her and started looking for the healers, he desperately wanted to see the healers.
So they can save her, Rose let out a groan of pain, her eyes glistening with tears, before she said, "I can't make it the next three minutes, I know I'm going to die anyway, even though it hurts to know that I'll be leaving you so soon, I want you to Help me, I want you to grant me just one wish" she said, he nodded.
"Please save my mother and lay me down on the battlefield " she urged him, which he did.
Where the battle was so intense, he managed to lay her down on the ground and used his free hand to fight anyone who tried to approach him.
Using her last strength, she called out words that are ancient and unheard-of, that's when they heard a rumbling and deafening sound coming from the mountain, it was clear that the sound was coming from the North mountain, he tried as much to keep a calm expression, he can't help it, thinking of ways to forget about everything, but he can't no matter how hard he tried.
Then the loud growl of a black dragon was heard, and cold shivers ran down the spine of everyone who heard it, while Lucius laughed heartily.

"I know you will eventually call out the black dragon, the dragon legend had made it clear he was immortal, I never knew it was still in existence before Micheal told me about it" His voice was filled with so much mischief.
When Jefferson heard this, he clenched his fist in hate and anger, that's why everything became crystal clear, that he never actually wanted to threaten Jefferson himself, but rather it was her, they wanted to know if the dragon was still alive. A minute went by and the dragon arrived, killing almost everyone in sight, including the wolves and the vampires, the dragon had given Rose the key to control him, so when he noticed Rose was in a pitiable state, he can't control himself, he was in his killing intent.
Rose gently turned to Jefferson before he said, "I love you because I love you so much, I'll be ready to do anything for you Jeff, I meant anything" she let out a husky breath before she continued.
"You will have to kill the dragon and transplant his heart to your body, I know it'll be very difficult, but that's the way the only way for you to end up being an immortal..." She trailed before she continued, " even in my death, I'll still try to find a way to come back to you" he said, which made him clench his fist even tighter.
"Please don't leave me because I won't be able to bear it please " he begged, as tears freely paved their way down his cheeks, he caressed her tummy, bringing his head closer to her, feeling nothing but pain, he tried as much to keep calm, even though he was burning deep within, he then kissed her gently.
Before he screamed at the top of his voice, he felt nothing but intense pain, he can't help it no matter how hard he tried to do so. then she let go of him, taking her last.
"Noooo" he screamed. He let go of a husky growl, he felt betrayed by the action of his brother and he felt so much hate for the wizard, so before he could do anything, he had to fulfill the last wish of his mate, so he started killing wolves and vampires around him before he eventually transformed to a dragon, but he was not as strong as the black dragon, he fought with so much effort, he would be thrown the ground, but whenever he saw the dead bother or his mate, he would manage to stand up and fight with more resilience, he took a deep breath, trying so hard to calm down before he did the unexpected when he finally launched at the black dragon, bringing down his resolve.
He struggled with the dragon, but he was ready to fight to his last, then he took a deep breath before he sank his hand into the heart of the dragon, the dragon was struggling, he wanted to survive, but Jefferson was more determined, the thought of everything and what she had said, slipped to his memory, before he did one thrust of Gus's hand then his removed the heart.
