Chapter Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 70

Chapter 70 A Close Call

Given Farrah’s shopping habits, she was unlikely to buy something so expensive. Of course, for Adrian, this amount was pocket change. Adrian sat in his study, thinking about Farrah for a few seconds. Perhaps he did not even realize he was worried about her.

He could not help but even wonder if Farrah had an accident and ended up in the hospital. Even so, not call her and just waited at home.

he did

After settling Jodie in the newly rented apartment unit, Farrah headed out to hail a cab. At the same time, she dialed Steven’s number,

Before she could speak, Steven roared angrily, “You brat, you finally remembered to call me?”

you even human? You gambled away your own son’s tuition!” Farrah snapped, her voice cold with anger

“Are

“Who are you calling inhuman, you ungrateful brat?” Steven exploded, his voice rising. “You got married and forget about yo

too.

“You’re ridiculous and insane!” Farrah hung up, fuming. Just then, a Jeep screeched to a halt in front of her, nearly running over her toes. She instinctively jumped back

As Farrah regained her balance, the window rolled down, and she found herself staring into the cold, sinister gaze of the driver–Jordan.

“Get in the car, Farrah,” he said with a sinister smirk, barely containing himself. “Let’s find a place to have

a nice chat.”

Realizing something was off, Farrah turned and ran. Jordan was caught off guard for a split second. However, he quickly got out of the car and slammed the door shut before giving chase.

Farrah’s instincts were spot on–he was indeed after her. She had witnessed the scene in the office and knew Adrian had fired him. He must be harboring deep resentment for that.

Farrah did not dare imagine what would happen if she fell into his hands. She did not want to cause Adrian trouble at all. Unfamiliar with the area, she had no time to think and just ran desperately into an alley.

Farrah did not even dare to look back. Meanwhile, Jordan was determined to catch her. He had investigated her true identity, and there was no way he would not let this opportunity slip.

*Why are you running? Stop! I just want to talk!” Jordan yelled. He wanted to take out all his frustrations with Adrian on Farrah. Yet, she was clearly no pushover

Farrah ran as fast as she could. When she finally glanced back, Jordan was close to grabbing her, the sight of which scared her out of her wits. She used all her strength to run forward and zigzagged through the alley

After running for quite some time, Farrah’s legs were giving out. She did not know how far she had run, but she was completely out of breath as she rounded a corner. She gasped for air, thinking it might be the end of her.

Suddenly, a long arm reached out, pulling Farrah’s petite body into a nearbuck

a hand covered her mouth. She opened her eyes wide, and a few seconds later, she saw Jordan run past the glass door and quickly disappear from sight.

The person behind her gradually loosened their grip and let her go. Farrah spun around and found herself looking into a man’s gentle yet determined gaze.

“Corey?” Farrah’s racing heart finally calmed down. “What are you doing here?” She panted as she her chest. Surprised yet delighted, she quickly regained her composure.

Corey looked at her panicked state with concern, yet he was also delighted to have run into her here. He did not answer her question. As their eyes met, he found himself falling for her once again.

He really, really liked her.
