Chapter 250 A Turn
But things took a sudden, unexpected turn, and Nancy turned out to be the figure in the car.
This time, the whole family showed up on the TV together, and they also participated in a show called ' Family'. Without any doubt, the sole motive of them appearing on the television together was to show the world that they were a family.
Jessie couldn't afford to offend Nancy if she and Charles were to get married.
She sighed and was unwilling to accept the fact that Nancy was going to marry Charles.
Jessie was a petty woman who couldn't tolerate others to be better than her.
Not only, Nancy, but she would also try to get rid of anyone who upstaged her.
She wouldn't give up until it was obvious that she was defeated and there was nothing that she could do.
Nancy smiled as usual. "Jessie, I haven't decided yet. You know, I have always put my work before everything! II
"If I marry a good man like Mr. Fu, I will immediately resign and go home to be a full-time housewife. You know how difficult our work is. We work hard day and night, always feel tired and never get enough rest And what's more, we are often doubted by our patients. Think about it, it's incredibly disappointing."
Nancy wasn't wrong. But nowadays, it wasn't just the doctors and the patients who shared a toxic relationship, but rather the teachers and the students had a bad relation between them as well. And the sole reason for such a sour relationship was the lack of trust between both the parties. However, Nancy believed that if she treated her patient with sincerity, sooner or later, they would realize that she possessed a kind heart.
Therefore, Nancy smiled and said, "I really like this job. I'd try my best to work here whatever the circumstances arise!"
Then she turned around and walked into the office.
Erin ran over to Nancy and said, "Congratulations, Director Nancy!"
Seeing how excited she was, she asked in confusion, "Congratulations for what?"
"Everyone knows that you are going to marry Mr. Fu. Aren't you aware of that?" Erin said shyly, scratching her hair.
"Get married? We aren't getting married just yet. We just shot a video together. I believe it's still quite early to get married!" Nancy said with a chuckle.
"Oh, I'm looking forward to you marrying Mr. Fu one day. In this way, no one will bully you. Mr. Fu will surely protect you. And if anyone dares to bully you again, Mr. Fu will see through that person gets his fair share of torment," Erin said exaggeratedly. Her smile was pure and harmless.
"If a person doesn't want to be bullied, then that individual must get stronger. It's better to rely on yourself rather than anyone else!" Nancy said earnestly.
"You are right, Director Nancy. I will be stronger and will not let Anna..." Erin looked over her shoulder, subconsciously. She was still afraid of Jessie and Anna.
She lowered her voice as she continued, "I won't let them bully me again!"
Nancy patted her on the shoulder and said, "Erin, people are born equal. As long as you don't get intimated by them, they can't hurt you!"
Erin nodded solemnly, "I get it, Director Nancy."
"Alright, now let's get back to work," said Nancy.
Erin walked out of Nancy's office towards Jessie, who was still standing in the corridor.
Erin glared at her.
Jessie snorted arrogantly.
Then Anna walked out of the elevator.
Jessie waved at her.
Anna then came over to Jessie.
Jessie said in a hushed tone, "Dr. Anna, did you see the show last night? They aired the program in which Charles, Nancy and children participated together. It was all over the mainstream media today. Word on the street is that Nancy is going to marry Charles. Alas, Nancy is so lucky. We better get closer to her if we want some good luck in the future."
Jessie's sarcastic words made Anna very angry.
She said in a low voice, "How about you follow Nancy and give the First Pediatric Department to me? What do you say?"
Anna's words caught Jessie completely off-guard. She didn't expect Anna to behave in such a disrespectful manner. Her face turned pale. "Anna, you've gone too far. You've only been here for a few days, but you shamelessly ask me to give up the directorial position. Don't you think you are a bit too ambitious? Let me tell you something, not even Nancy has the guts to say something as arrogant as this to me. And you've been here for a few days. Who do you think you are?" Jessie exploded like a cat being stepped on its tail.
Her voice was so loud that even Erin from the Second Pediatric Department could hear it.
"Look, everyone, the two of them are quarrelling," Erin gloated.
"Let them fight. They aren't good people anyways!" someone said disdainfully.
"Precisely!" someone answered.
"Jessie is a senior employee of the hospital. She has been doing whatever she wishes to do all these years. She is so used to being domineering and overbearing that she can't bear Anna, who is even more menacing and unreasonable than her. I love this. Let's wait and see what happens!" Someone sneered.
People whispered, mostly gloating and enjoying as the events unfolded right in front of their eyes. It appeared that Jessie had offended a lot of these people over the years.
Anna reacted calmly to Jessie's scathing verbal attack on her. She patted her on the shoulder and smiled, "Don't be angry, Director Jessie. You're old, and it would be bad for your health if you get so emotional Are you in menopause? If so, you need some rest. How about staying at home for a few days?"
Jessie suddenly pushed Anna's hand away and said, "Yes, you wish that I'd go away so that you can control the whole ward."
Anna sighed as if she was telling the truth, "Alas, don't be so unreasonable. I'm just worried that you might overexert yourself. Believe it or not, you are getting old, and I'm just looking out for you. Don't think that I don't know your plan. Now that you see that Nancy is close to Charles, you want to give up. Am I right?"
Jessie was so angry that she snorted, "Dr. Anna, it's not appropriate to talk in this manner. We are all colleagues who are working hard for the betterment of the patients. Now, it's time to make the rounds of the wards. I'll go first."
"Don't be angry, Director Jessie. I was just kidding!" Anna said with a smile.
Jessie turned around and a fake smile appeared on her face as well. "I'm sorry, Dr. Anna. I was just joking as well."
"That's good; that's good," Anna said as she walked into the office.
Both were born to be drama queens as they both were hypocritical and pompous.
Surrounded by a group of senior executives, Charles walked out of the meeting room.
Suddenly, Hiram rushed over to him.
"Mr. Fu, I have found out what you had asked me to investigate."
Charles stopped in his tracks and excused himself from the group. The executives left one by one.
Charles and Hiram then went to the CEO's office.
He then sat down on a black leather chair. He looked at Hiram. "Tell me, what have you found out?"
