Chapter 220 Why Are You Afraid Of Her
Nancy grabbed Anna's arm and said, "Erin, why are you afraid of her? How did she hit you? You have to fight back!"
"Director Nancy, don't go too far!" Anna's eyes widened in surprise. She didn't expect Nancy to defend this nurse this much.
Worried that the argument might worsen, Jessie butted in. "Well, Director Nancy, don't get worked up. I told you, Dr. Anna was young and impulsive, and it was inevitable for her to be thoughtless when doing things. Don't stoop down in her level!"
"Director Jessie, I'm not talking to you now. I'm asking Anna!" Her furious eyes turned to Erin. "Tell me the truth. Did she hit you or did you happen to bump into her?"
At that point, Nancy looked like a parent who was protecting her children. She would never allow anyone to bully her subordinates.
No matter how stupid Erin was, she knew that Nancy was backing her up. It gave her the courage to tell the truth. "It was Dr. Anna who slapped me and she called me a bitch..."
There was no embarrassment nor remorse on Anna's face. She raised her chin arrogantly and said, "So what if I hit you?" "You bumped into me. Was that not enough reason for me to hit you? Humph!"
"I didn't!" Erin argued, "I just went to the ward and you came out of the operating room. How could I bump into you? If you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance video."
She was taken aback when Erin shouted at her, but her arrogance didn't falter. "I just hit you. What's wrong?'1
These words brought Nancy in a black mood. She couldn't bear that Anna bullied others casually just because she came from a rich family.
Back then, Kathy and Betty looked down upon her and Doris just because they were poor. Now that she thought about it, she couldn't believe she allowed it to happen. Why was she so coward? Even if Kathy liked Ethan, she wouldn't need to hate her so much.
Although Nancy had forgiven Kathy, it didn't mean that she could forgive Anna.
Without further ado, she grabbed Anna's arm and turned to Erin. "Erin, hit her the same way she hit you."
Erin rushed up and gave Anna a hard slap.
"Ahhh!" Anna had never been hit before. She struggled out of Nancy's grip and rushed to Erin.
"Dr. Anna, stop!" Jessie was a little scared. After all, they were in her office. If the matter got worse, it would have a bad impact on her.
"Director Jessie, go away, or I will beat you both!" Anna pushed her away to reach Erin.
Nancy stood in front of Erin and said, "Anna, come at me if you dare."
Anna went ballistic. She didn't care about what Nancy said at all. She attacked her without hesitation.
Her long fingernails dug into Nancy's arms.
"Anna, are you done?" What Nancy said only provoked her more.
"It's not over yet. Nancy, if you continue to defend this bitch, I'll beat you together!" The veins on Anna's neck were becoming visible because of her anger. But Nancy was angry too. How dare she beat her?
Anna had gone too far!
Nancy grabbed her arm and said, "Anna, don't cross the line! This is the hospital, not the place where you go mad!"
"It's not the place for me to go mad. Is it the place for you to be?" Anna shouted out in anger.
When she reached out her hand to hit Erin again, she accidentally hit Nancy's face. Nancy slapped her hard on the face. Indeed, a storm was brewing in Jessie office.
"Stop! Stop!" Jessie panicked. She had never thought that the gentle and mature Nancy was capable of fighting like a shrew.
"Stop it, Director Nancy!" Erin was so scared that she burst into tears.
"Don't cry anymore. Call the security guard." Because the two doctors weren't listening to her, Jessie scolded the nurse instead. "It's all because of you. Now the whole pediatric department is in chaos. If this matters gets out, Director Nancy and I will be disgraced!"
At this moment, Erin felt deeply wronged. She didn't dare to say anything to refute. She quickly called the security guard.
It took the security guard ten minutes to come here. It was conceivable that in that ten minutes, Nancy and Anna didn't give in to each other. They pulled each other's hair and slapped their faces. It was impossible to stop them.
Fortunately, Nancy was very tall. Although she didn't like fighting since she was a child, she had seen Doris fight over the years. Now she was able beat Anna.
Anna seemed to have underestimated Nancy's strength and she was defeated by her.
Shocked with what she had witnessed, Jessie took a deep breath out of fear. She had never thought that Nancy was a skilled fighter.
Fortunately, she was smart and didn't offend Nancy. Otherwise, what happened to Anna today would be her ending as well.
The security guard came and pulled Anna away.
"What's wrong? Why are you fighting?" the security guard asked.
Her whole body ached because of scratches. Nancy was good at fighting. She didn't hit Anna's face. She just pulled her hair and scratched her body.
In this way, the injury wouldn't be obvious.
There was a lot of hair scattered on the ground, most of which belonged to Anna.
One rule in the hospital was that, female doctors had to tie up their hair during work, but Anna's hair was always tangled around her shoulders whenever she didn't have an operation, despite being warning several times.
Today was her punishment for breaking the rules!
"It's all her fault. She bullied me!" Anna cried.
"Director Nancy has been here for a long time, and I've never heard that she bullied anyone. Alas, I think it must be a misunderstanding. Well, Dr. Anna, we are colleagues. If there is any misunderstanding, just explain it. Don't hit others out of nowhere. It's beneath your dignity," the guard persuaded.
In the past, Nancy thought it was really impolite to fight, so she used to endure everything.
But now, she couldn't stand it anymore!
Needless to say, she felt good after fighting for the first time in her life.
"Yes. There is just a small misunderstanding between Anna and me. It's not a big deal," Nancy said with a smile. After all, she was the director of the Second Pediatric Department. Once today's matter leaked out, it would had a bad effect on her. So, she said with a smile, "Dr. Anna, forget it. It's my fault. I shouldn't have stood up for Erin. She is timid, so don't be against her anymore, okay?"
