Nancy felt guilty for Charles.

"Uh, I'm sorry. I forgot to inform you that I'll be going out with Doris. I..." Nancy explained embarrassedly.

"So what? Why do you tell it to me now?" The response was cold from Charles.

Nancy was trying to make peace with him.

But her heart sank when she heard such harsh words from him.

She turned around and was about to leave.

All of a sudden, Charles stood up. He picked her up and threw her to the bed.

There was not even a prelude.

It happened just like that.

Nancy felt like she was about to be raped. She struggled. "Let me go, Charles. What are you doing?"

"Don't you know what I want to do, Nancy?" There was a hint of harshness in his voice. He seemed completely pitiless and didn't care about Nancy's struggle at all. Nancy was in no mood to concede, so she directly bit his arm fiercely.

A spasm of pain struck Charles and he pulled his arms away. In a flash, Nancy ran out of the study.

It was the next noon. Doris changed her clothes and took out a grand from the drawer.

The money was put in Jay's drawer.

Then Doris took a taxi to the Happy Restaurant.

On her way to the restaurant, she called Charles and said in a fawning tone, "Mr. Fu, I'm inviting you to lunch tonight at the Happy Restaurant. Would you like to come?"

To be honest, if it weren't for the fact that he wanted to reconcile with Nancy, he wouldn't have even considered to have lunch in such a small restaurant.

However, things would be different for him in Nancy's company. It would still be delicious even if it was a simple and small restaurant.

So he agreed.

He had a feeling that he went too far last night.

It wouldn't serve any purpose for both of them if the cold war between them continued.

So when he got the call from Doris, he agreed immediately.

When he arrived at the restaurant, Nancy was already seated there. It was obvious that she was unhappy.

"Hello, Nancy," Charles greeted.

Nancy just ignored him.

"What would you like to have?" Charles asked again.

But, Nancy still didn't say anything.

No matter how hard he tried to please her, Nancy looked sullen as if he owed her a lot.

"Nancy, please, order what you like to have? Enjoy yourself. It's my treat." Charles was anxious and placed the menu in front of her.

Nancy finally raised her eyes and glanced at him lazily. "There's no hurry. The person who is treating us hasn't arrived." "Yes, I know. It's Doris. You can order first. She wouldn't mind," Charles said kindly. "What's the matter today? Even Mr. Fu can be so humble to people. So strange!" Nancy was simply angry at the thought of what happened between them last night.

"Nancy, let's make up. In this city, every woman wants to make love with me. But, you are always indifferent to me. Are you playing hard to get?" Charles said in an angry voice.

Nancy was also irritated. "Charles, I'm not playing hard to get with you. It's you who begged me. Now you don't like me, do you? Go to any of those women waiting to be your girlfriend. I didn't stop you!" "All right!" Although he was a playboy, no woman dared to be so rude to him.

He really doubted if Nancy was human!

Or she was not a woman!

Huffing in anger, Charles turned around. He almost ran into Doris who was just coming in.

"Doris? Why are you so late?" Charles said, sounding stunned.

If she had been there a little earlier, he wouldn't have quarreled with Nancy!

"What's wrong, you two?" The moment Doris saw their red faces, she knew what would have happened.

"Nothing!" Charles said as he came back.

He looked at Nancy, but she didn't even look at him.

"Doris, I miss you so much. How nice to meet you here!" Nancy said exaggeratedly.

It was just a show of affection to irk Charles.

However, Doris got goose bumps all over her body.

"Okay, now sit down, and tell me the wonderful story of you and Jay! I would like to learn something new about rich and powerful family." Nancy took Doris' hand and sat down on the chair. "Well, I'm from a rich and powerful family. If you really want to know it, why don't you ask me?" Charles said in a weird way as he also sat down in front of her.

"Well, you can order whatever you like." Doris brought the menu to her. "It's my treat today. Just enjoy yourself. Don't be shy."

"Surely she won't be shy. She hasn't eaten much recently!" Charles looked at her coquettishly, with a cheeky smile.

Nancy gave him an intense look and gritted her teeth with hatred.

Doris smiled. "Oh, so you both are getting more familiar with each other. You even remember that she has no appetite recently!"

"Of course! Doris, you should try to persuade Nancy often. Don't let her miss me, a handsome and charming man," said Charles lightly.

His words amused her and Nancy.

"Charles, no one will consider you dumb even if you don't speak!" Nancy said, gritting her teeth.

Doris looked at her and then at Charles. Everything seemed alright. They were indeed a perfect match.

But was there any special advantage in marrying into a rich family?

The poor like them must always be very careful and cautious.

"Mr. Fu, I have something to ask you. What's Jay up to these days?" Doris asked as she grabbed the menu. She wasn't focused on the menu, but just wanted to know the whereabouts of Jay. "Jay? He's in the hospital currently. His grandfather is dying," said Charles casually. He didn't know that she and Jay had been married.

Doris was shocked. She couldn't believe that Landon was in his death-bed.

After all, she was the daughter-in-law of the Fang family. But, why didn't anyone tell her about Landon's condition?

"What? Haven't Jay told you yet?" Charles asked in surprise.

"Oh, my bad memory. He had told me before, but I forgot." Doris replied vaguely, "I've done. Check it and see if there's anything else you need." Nancy took over the menu and ordered some beef. Completely ignoring Charles' preference, Nancy asked the waiter to serve the food quickly.

The dishes were soon served. However, Doris had no relish of the food at all.

Landon was on the verge of dying, but why didn't Jay tell her?

"Excuse me, I have to go to the hospital to see Grandpa. Catch you both later." After eating minimally, Doris stood up with her bag.

"If I want to marry, I think I should marry a woman like Doris. She is elegant, considerate and very generous!" Charles had long wanted Doris to leave, so that he could flirt with Nancy as he wanted.

He liked to see Nancy getting angry, so he used the opportunity to tease her and purposely praised Doris to see how she would react!

As expected, Nancy was about to explode!
