Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love

Chapter 140 Truth

Nancy didn't know what to do now. It turned out Bobby was her child that she had given birth to five years ago.

She was in a dilemma.

She was confused whether she should tell this to Charles or not.

But if she told him the truth, he would try his best to be with her. And he might even fall out with his family members-the same family members, who had declared that they wouldn't allow him to live with her. If things end up that way, it would only result in creating more trouble.

To avoid meeting Sophie, Nancy decided not to go back to the Fu family this afternoon.

Sophie searched for Nancy's photo around the house, but couldn't find any. And Angelina had to give up.

When Nancy finally came back at night, Charles was waiting for her in the yard.

"Where have you been, Nancy? Why are you home so late?" He eyed her skeptically and there was a note of anger in his voice.

"I... I went to see Nadia," Nancy said in a low voice. The realization that the man five years ago was Charles made her panic.

She tried her best to avoid eye contact with him and walked towards the villa.

"Do you know that Bobby has been looking for you since afternoon? You should have at least considered him. He is just a child, an injured child. How can you leave without saying anything to him?" Charles questioned her, grabbing her arm.

Nancy was very clear that she would be in danger if people knew that she was Bobby's mother. She analyzed that revealing the truth would only result in complicating the things.

If the truth was revealed, Dorothy would definitely find a way to kill her, because she was too much of a threat to her.

Keeping all these things in mind, Nancy shouted angrily, "Charles, Bobby is your child, not mine. You'd better make it clear that we have already broken up. Now, Bobby is only one of my patients. He's nothing more to me. To put it bluntly, I'm here only because I have to fulfill my duty as a doctor. And not because of my relationship with you. If you still keep making trouble out of nothing, I will leave right now." "Well, if that is the case, why don't you try to leave and have a try now? Let's see if my fist is harder or your words are harder," Charles shouted in a loud voice. His face and eyes were red in anger. Seeing this, Angelina, Dorothy and Joseph ran out of the villa at once.

Seeing the quarrel between Nancy and Charles, Dorothy felt quite satisfied.

"Hey, what's wrong with you both? Don't quarrel so blatantly. It's so embarrassing," Joseph said, gloating.

"Exactly. Both of you are shameless. We should settle the problem with peace. Why do you quarrel here?" Angelina said meaningfully.

Then, Charles snorted contemptuously, turned around and went upstairs.

Nancy went to Bobby's room and stared at his little face, feeling sad.

Bobby was her child, her child with Charles.

"Bobby..." Nancy choked with sobs.

Bobby opened his big eyes and stared at her. "Mommy, did you quarrel with Daddy?" he asked in a panic.

Nancy gently hugged him and said, "Don't be afraid, Bobby. It's quite normal for adults to sometimes quarrel with each other. Be careful not to get yourself hurt again, okay?"

"Will Mommy feel sad if Bobby is injured?" Bobby asked innocently, raising his little head.

"Of course I will feel sad. You are such a good boy!" Nancy said, and kissed on his face.

"I won't get hurt as long as Mommy is with me," Bobby said earnestly, his big eyes blinking with great expectations.

She wanted to be with him and live a happy life.

But, the longer she stayed with him, the more dangerous it would be. Though it was hard, that was the cruel reality.

"Even if Mommy is not by your side, you must protect yourself well. Otherwise, Mommy will be very worried. Do you know that?" Nancy's heart throbbed painfully.

She couldn't give up that family bond and her motherly affection, but she had to.

She was left with no other choice.

Therefore, she decided to leave as soon as Bobby's wound almost healed.

Seeing his eyes, Nancy almost felt a heartache. She didn't even dare to turn around and speed up her steps.

Then she quickly ran out of Bobby's room with tears in her eyes.

At night.

In the bar.

Nancy had drunk a lot with Doris.

She felt depressed. It was suffocating for her. Those secrets were like big stones that pressed on her heart and made her breathless.

"What's wrong, Nancy? It's just something purely out of love, isn't it? It's not a big deal. Why are you so sad?" Doris, who was unaware of the truth, raised her hand and patted on Nancy's shoulder. She had no idea what was burning inside her.

"I want to find someone to marry as soon as possible," Nancy said with a bitter smile.

"That's surprising! Don't you always treasure love? When did you become so casual?" Doris said sarcastically, and took a sip of her cocktail.

Nancy didn't speak, but smiled bitterly.

"How about Ethan?" Doris asked. After a pause, she continued, "I think he still loves you."

Nancy glanced at her and thought for a while. "But I don't love him! I feel very sorry for him. I'm afraid he is more and more sensitive now and can't withstand any harm. I'd better stay away from him. It's good for both of us."

"Well, what can I say? He is indeed a good man. Perhaps some man is suitable to be a big brother or bestie, but may not be suitable to be a husband. Ethan is such a man." Doris smacked her lips and squinted her eyes. "Tell me, what kind of person are you going to find? I can help you." "No rush. I don't know what I am looking for yet. If I encounter my destiny, I will accept it," Nancy said indifferently. She wasn't even sure if she was looking for a new boyfriend or she just wanted to protect herself and Bobby from danger.

Or if she just wanted to pour out her sorrows.

However, there were some secrets which could only be shared with strangers, but not with acquaintances.

"Okay, then I will take note of the men around me."

In fact, Doris wasn't confident about it either. She was more than troubled by her own affairs all day long.

After they got home, Nancy took a quick shower. Then she asked Nadia to have a good rest.

When the night fell, she became more distressed.

She badly needed to relieve her anxieties.

So she began to find someone to chat online.

"Excuse me?" she initiated the chat.

The other replied quickly, "Hello."

"Why is your alias 'Night'?" Nancy asked.

"Because I feel lonely," replied, the other.

"But, why are you lonely? Don't you have someone you love?" she asked again.

"Don't you know that love makes people feel lonely?"

Nancy was silent. She thought for a while. Yes, she was lonely because of love. That made her panic.

A good love was equivalent to happiness, while a bad love was nothing but suffering.

The best examples were herself and Charles after all.

"Why don't you reply?" "Night" asked.

Without saying anything, Nancy went offline.

The next morning, Nancy sent Nadia to the kindergarten.

Then she drove to the hospital.

As soon as she walked out of the elevator, a nurse suddenly ran over, crying.

"What happened?" Nancy asked.

"Dr. Nancy, I didn't mean to do anything wrong. A patient was looking for you, so I asked him to wait for you for a minute. And then, Director Jessie slapped me on the face. Do you think I am wronged? She even said that I am an ungrateful bitch."
