Spoiled by the Silver Fox

Chapter 224

Stephanie said, "My mom never planned on marrying you anyway! We've been doing great without you all these years!"

Morton said, "Well, if that's the case, then great. As long as you both are doing well, I can rest assured."

"Don't be so fake! My mom doesn't need your concern at all!" Stephanie snapped.

"Steph! You can't talk to your father like that!" Marilyn scolded and then started gasping for breath.

Stephanie immediately stopped her outburst and hurried over to comfort her mother, saying, "Fine, I won't say it anymore, alright? Don't be angry, you've been stressed enough today." "I..." Marilyn was too breathless to speak.

"Mom, don't say anything anymore. I'll be nicer to him." Stephanie said.

Anyway, to her, he was just an insignificant nobody. No excessive expectations meant no disappointments.

She just felt that her mother deserved better.

Morton didn't care about her mother at all. The way he spoke was so polite. Was that how he treat a former lover?

At most, it was like treating her as an old friend.

But her mother kept insisting he was her real father. It was too humiliating.

Seeing Marilyn like this, Morton frowned and said, "Mrs. Bishop, don't be upset. I think Steph has a good temper, very sincere, and she won't be easily bullied."

"Sebastian, why aren't you going in?" Suddenly, a crisp female voice came from the doorway.

The three inside the ward looked over at the door where Sebastian was standing, accompanied by a young woman in a white professional outfit who looked very capable.

Her long hair was tied up behind her head, her high heels accentuating her long, straight legs.

Her appearance was pure, slightly reminiscent of Katherine, but her temperament was completely different.

If Katherine was a beauty without any skills, then this young girl was a beauty with depth.

Her voice was truly sweet.

Stephanie's face showed a strange smirk. Where did Sebastian get her?

Before Sebastian could speak, Morton asked in surprise, "Angela, what are you doing here?"

Angela obediently replied, "Dad, I was worried that something might happen to you, so I came to check on you."

Morton gave a wry smile, "What could have happened to me? Well, since you're here, come in and meet Mrs. Bishop."

Angela followed her father's

instructions and entered the ward. Smiling at the weakened Marilyn lying in bed, she said, "Hello, Mrs. Bishop, I'm Angela. My mother and sister might have offended you before, so I want to apologize. I hope you don't take it to heart and focus on resting and recovering your health, as that's the most important thing."

Stephanie frowned, "If the Kleins had never shown up, my mom would have been totally fine!"

Angela said, "You must be Ms.

Bishop. I'm your sister, Angela. This is our first meeting, I didn't bring any gifts. But this watch looks great on you, if you don't mind, I'd like to give

it to you."

Angela looked quite young, perhaps in her early twenties, having recently graduated from college and now interning at the Klein Group.

Stephanie didn't even glance at the

watch, frowning as she said, "I really don't get you people from the Klein famity. You all just love claiming relatives randomly!"

Hearing this, Sebastian almost burst out laughing.
