Chapter 209
Stephanie was really freaked out, her voice trembling. Her legs turned to jelly from fear.
Her mother was the only family she had in this world... If her mother suddenly passed away, she wouldn't want to live anymore.
What was the point?
"Don't worry, I'm here. I promise your mom will be fine." Sebastian comforted her.
Martin overheard Sebastian's order from outside and immediately called Dr. O'Neal, informing him that Stephanie was the future wife of Skyline Corporation's president, and Marilyn was his future mother-in-law.
Dr. O'Neal's face turned pale. He only knew that the Bishop family's mother and daughter had Sebastian as their backup.
But he didn't know that they had such a close relationship. He immediately agreed and assured that there would be no problem.
Then he quickly gathered all the security personnel in the hospital, caught Mrs. Klein's people, and even got someone who was secretly recording. He tied them all up and waited for Sebastian's decision. After that, he personally went to the ward and performed emergency treatment on Marilyn.
He pulled her back from the brink of death, but from then on, Marilyn's condition worsened, and she had to lie in bed with an oxygen tube.
She couldn't move around at will anymore.
Stephanie stood outside the ward, her eyes swollen from crying.
Suddenly, the door to the ward was pushed open, and Sebastian walked in with a displeased expression.
Stephanie immediately turned her head and saw those deep eyes of his.
Instantly, she burst into tears again, "My mom almost died."
Sebastian's face darkened as he walked over and looked at the figure lying on the hospital bed.
She was quite lively before, but now she was lifeless, lying in bed with an oxygen tube in her nose.
Dr. O'Neal followed Sebastian in and stood beside him, carefully
explaining, Fortunately, we were able to rescue her in time. She's not in any immediate danger now. But it's still better to have the operation as soon as possible. If the patient experiences any more stress, we might not be able to save her."
Sebastian asked indifferently, "How come no kidney source has been found after so long?"
Dr. O'Neal wiped the cold sweat
from his forehead and said, "We've tried our best to find it, even contacting foreign sources, but strangely, there's no news. There's
something I have to say."
"Go on." Sebastian said.
"I suspect someone is deliberately obstructing us from finding a kidney for Mrs. Bishop. Otherwise, there wouldn't still be no news after so long." Dr. O'Neal answered. Sebastian frowned, "Do you suspect it's the former dean?"
Dr. O'Neal quickly replied, "I wouldn't dare."
"Martin, investigate this immediately!" Sebastian shouted out.
Martin stood outside the door and solemnly responded, "Yes, sir."
Dr. O'Neal said with a bitter smile, "Mr. Ingram, Mrs. Klein is still making a fuss outside. Her people have been subdued by our hospital security and are being held. She's been looking for us to release them."
Stephanie took a deep breath and said, "Silver Fox..."
Sebastian glanced at her with comforting eyes and said, "Behave yourself and stay here with your mom. I'll handle what's going on outside."
"I really don't want this to happen again... Mrs. Klein and her people..." Stephanie said.
"Don't worry, they won't bother you again." Sebastian said.
Hearing Sebastian say this, Stephanie finally felt relieved.
