Chapter 67 

MALIYA 

Before Alpha Kane could snap out of his truce. Alpha Xander who seemed oblivious to what was happening broke the silence,

“Why don’t you lead us to where we will be staying? The journey is quite long and we need a proper rest” Alpha Xander said. 

“Oh! Of course! Pardon my manners, I was just too stummed to see that you did make it,” he lied with a straight face and I mentally shook my head. He hasn’t changed a bit. He is still the lying bastard he was before I left 

I wondered what would have prompted Alpha Xander to help a man like Kane become the Alpha of the pack, but then again, he was also a heartless man hence. Alpha Kane’s attitude is probably normal to him. 

“Please, come this way, he said with a smile as he directed Alpha Xander and me into one of the guest rooms. 

While we were walking through the hallway, Alpha Kane didn’t even have the decency to keep his eyes on the things he wanted so badly. I could feel his burning gaze from the corner of my eyes and my stomach twitched in disgust 

His stares made me feel sick to my stomach and I couldn’t help but feel disgusted by the way he kept on looking at me. Wasn’t he the same person who sold me off like a piece of property in exchange for power? 

This was exactly why I didn’t want to come here. I knew the bastard would get on my nerves which was exactly what he was doing right now, 

1 wished I could report him to Alpha Xander but how could I when he was the one who made his dream of becoming an Alpha possible in the first place! 

“Once again, I really appreciate your help. None of this would be made possible if it weren’t for your help, Alpha Kane said and Alpha Xander waved him off as if it was nothing. 

Have you concluded on what you are going to do with them? Alpha Xander asked. Although they didn’t mention names, I had a feeling that they were talking about the previous Alpha and his family. 

I listened attentively to hear what his response was going to be and be cleared his throat as if he didn’t want to disappoint Alpha Xabier with his 

response. 

They are presently locked up. Il decide what to do with thern after the coronation or I can keep them as a prisoner for a while. Right now, I can’t think of what to do to them,” he said and I rolled my eyes inwardly. 

Of course, he can’t think of what to do with them. He doesn’t even have a brain of his own not to talk of making decisions for the whole pack. 

Alpha Kane was a coward and he wouldn’t have been able to conquer his father without the help of Alpha Xunder. He was a greedy good for nothing bastard. I have always known that he was up to no good, but what I didn’t see coming was this asshole, selling me off to Alpha Xander just to gain his support 

It did work out well for him though. He just has been really happy 

Alpha Kane stopped at the entrance of a room and looked at Alpha Xander with a smile on his face. 

“This is where you will be staying. Let me know if you need anything. I’ll have a maid waiting by the door just in case,” he said, as he pushed the door open to a room. 

I didn’t miss the way he kept on glaring at me even though he hadn’t said a word to me. I bet be has questions lingering in his mind but he didn’t have the balls to speak to Alpha Xander, of course. 

Alpha Xander stepped into the room and I followed after him to see how the room had been neatly arranged, and I could tell he had prepared for Alpha Xander’s presence. 

Even now that he has become everything he has always wanted, he was still licking ass to keep his position. He ruined all the hard work of his father in the blink of an eye. No wonder he could never accept him or think of making him the Alpha in the first place. 

He looked at me for a split second as I walked into the room with Alpha Xander. He probably thought I was here as his maid, but seeing how I went with him, I didn’t miss the question in his eyes. 

“We will just rest for now,” Alpha Xander said and he nodded. 

“Sure, you can do anything you want. The Coronation will not be until tomorrow evening so you have enough time to rest,” he said before excusing 

himself. 

I felt a surge of anger course through my veins as he walked off like a Saint and wished I could snap his neck and kill him in the sa 

As soon as Alpha Kane left the room, Alpha Xander pulled me to the bed and I looked at him startled by his action. 

“Do you need something! You haven’t eaten since we left home,” Alpha Xander pointed and I shook my head. 

“No, I’m fine” 

“You look stressed, you should get some rest,” he muttered. 

I nodded and sealed on the bed like: 

leaving me alone with my though pha Xander had suggested. He looked pretty exhausted as well because he fell asleep almost immediately. 

I turned and tossed around the bed, unable to sleep a wink as I kept on thinking about how great it would have been to be hack home if there was 

someone who really cared

I kept on turning around and it seemed to be distracting Alpha Xander since he was a light sleeper so I decided to take a stroll and clear my h 

I left the room carefully, making sure not to wake Alpha Xander in the process. As soon as I got outside, I was welcomed by the cold breeze, which made me shiver a linke 

1 kept on walking around and found myself in the garden. It used to be my favourite spot in the palace. Each time I visit, I always make sure to visit the place, but now, I feel like a stranger invading someone’s house. 

I can’t believe there was a time that I imagined that I’d get married into this house and bear Alpha Kane’s children. I laughed at the thought when a voice spoke from behind, startling me in the process. 

“What is funny?” 

1 jumped out of fear as I turned back to see Alpha Kane standing right in front of me. He was back to the proud bastard I used to know and I wished I could wipe off the stupid smile off his face. 

“You are here.” he said, as he turned his attention to the flower was watching before he came here. 

I could tell just how curious he was about a lot of things. He probably wanted to ask me how things have been since I left. 

“Don’t get your hopes high. He wouldn’t have sold you if he cared about you in the slightest way my subconscious mocked. 

“What happened?” He asked, making me scoff at his question. 

“What happened? You sold me. That is what happened. I rolled my eyes and he didn’t seem a bit impressed by my response. 

You know that is not what I asked, he said through gritted teeth. “What is a girl like you doing with an Alpha like Alpha Xander? He is not one to associate himself with slaves like you. What did you do?” He asked, making me laugh at his foolishness, 

So he knew the kind of person Alpha Xander was yet he sold me, his mate, to a heartless man like that? What if fate has not interfered? What if I hadn’t gotten pregnant by him by luck! I can’t believe he really sold me, knowing well that he was sending me to the lion’s den. 

“It is none of your business 1 hissed. “You lost your right to me when you rejected me and sold me off for power. You got what you want, so stay away from me,” I warned him 

I don’t know where I suddenly got the confidence from, judging from how I could never look him in the eyes in the past. But after everything that happened. There is only one thing I feel for him now, and that is hatred. 

I turned to leave but before I could, Alpha Kane’s words stopped me in my 

tracks.
