MALIYA 

For some reason, I can’t stop thinking about how Alpha Xander was not who everyone thought he was. I don’t know if it was played, but everything feels different now.

I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about how tough things must have been for him when he was young

spent the entire day in the room alone. Alpha Xander seemed to be occupied, seeing how he was nowhere around. I tried to see if Claudia was free too, but she also has her duties to attend to and I can’t keep her away from doing her job.. 

I ended up sleeping all through the day. The door cracked open and I snapped my eyes open immediately, I don’t know why the thought of Alpha Xander coming in excites me so much. 

It’s not like he would talk or try to keep my company, but I guess it was better than being alone. 

My eyes fell on the maid who came in and I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. She was holding a bag with her and I wondered what was inside. 

“What’s going on! What are you holding?” I asked and d she revealed the bag in her hands. 

The bag contained a new dress and I wondered what the occasion was Alpha Xander did not mention that we’d be going anywhere. Why else would he send a dress then?

I inhaled a deep breath and went to take my seat. Just then, another maid came in and they began to apply makeup on my face. 

My mind was distracted the entire time. No one has ever mentioned anything about Alpha Xander’s family and I couldn’t help but get curious. What were they like? I knew asking the maids would be crossing the line and I have no intention of getting anyone into trouble either. 

I sat still until the maids finished my makeup and styled my hair before changing into the dress he sent over. 

“You look so beautiful!” one of the maids said as I looked at my reflection in the mirror simultaneously. 

Indeed, the make–up changed my look and made me look prettier than I always looked, but I couldn’t help but get more curious about the event that was happening for me to be all dressed up 

Just then, a maid came in and I wondered what it was this time. Will it kill Alpha Xander to come here and tell me what’s going on? I knew that I mutant nothing to him but I hated being so CUFIOUL

Chapter 59 

Once I was done, I went downstairs to see what was going on when I saw him waiting at the dining table. 

My heart skipped a beat as I made eye contact with him. He looked so handsome even with his eyes patched 

The way he was looking at me made my stomach stirred and I couldn’t bring myself to break eye contact with him until I got to his side. 

I was still yet to understand the sudden pull I had been having towards him for the past few days, but I wasn’t going to ruin things now, 

Alpha Xander stood up as soon as I got to his side and pulled out a seat for me. This action surprised me and I couldn’t help but look him in the

“You look.. beautiful, he complimented me and my face flushed red. It wasn’t the first time a man would compliment me, but coming from a man like Alpha Xander, it meant a lot to me. 

1 blushed and looked away, unable to look him in the eyes after the compliment. He helped me to settle into my seat and I couldn’t help but get more curious about what the occasion was. 

“What’s going on?” I asked after our food had been served and Alpha Xander was now back to his seat

A smile spread across my face from how appreciative he seemed. Just when I thought he couldn’t surprise me anymore, he just kept on showing me that he was capable of being a normal person too. 

Maybe all he needed was someone to make him comfortable enough to break out of his shell in the first place. 

“I know we started things on the wrong note. I want us to start all over again and get to know each other properly, but only if you don’t mind,” he kääd, surprising me even more. 

My heart melted at his words and a smile spread across my face once again. I nodded my head shyly and he seemed to be pleased with my reaction 31 Well 

“Alpha Xander, if you don’t mind, can I ask you something?” I asked and he seemed hesitant to answer my question. My lips curved with a smile and he simply watched me. 

“It’s nothing personal, I promise. It’s just that I can’t help but get curious about a lot of things. You are not doing this because I am child right! I don’t want to raise my expectations,” I muttered and he smiled at me.

Alpha Xander smiled! I’ve seen a lot today but seeing his smile was something 1 had imagined I’d see. It felt like I was looking at a completely different nun right now and I couldn’t stop the grin on my face.

The way his name rolled off his name was so attractive that I couldn’t stop myself from staring at his lips as he spoke. 

“No, I am not doing this because of the child growing in you. I just wanted to start all over with you,” he finished with an amusing smile. 

I knew it wasn’t a big deal, but I couldn’t help the way his smile warms my heart. 

“Give me a chance to do right by you, Maliya. All of this is new to me and I don’t know how to go about it, but I can try,” he said. 

If I was being honest, I wasn’t sure about what he meant either or how to do right by mr, but I nodded my head regardless. 

“I guess it’s not too late to start all over again, I agreed with him. 

“Your food is running cold,” he pointed to the food on the table as we both ate in silence.

I thought about it for a while and nodded my head.

you around,” he said. I doubt there was anywhere I don’t know yes in the mansion but I didn’t question it anyway, I followed after as he showed me around and I can’t blame how beautiful the mansion was at night 

Usually, I only get to see the night view from the balcony but walking around looks even more peaceful, 

“This is my favourite spot since I was a child, Alpha Xander pointed to the farmhouse and I smiled. He looked so simple and calm right now. Who wouldn t fall for such a personality! 

Chapter 39 

“Do you want to go inside?“: 

?” He asked and I nodded. He held my hands, taking me by surprise and my eyes fell on where our hands connected 

His hands were so big and manly, yet so soft. I wondered how this was possible. 

He pulled me to the farmhouse but before we could reach there, the weather became even more chilly and I shivered

Alpha Xander noticed this and stopped 

“Are you feeling cold” Before I could answer his word, he took off his jacket and wrapped it around my body. “We can check the farmhouse later. Come on, let’s go back inside. 

He led us back into our room and we settled in bed immediately. Alpha Xander lay next to me and I could feel his warmth from how close he wa wished I could lean closer to him and use his warmth to dust off the cold that entered my body, but I decided to maintain my boundaries. 

Alpha Xander moved closer, closing the space between us but before I could adjust in his arms, a knock resonated through the room stopping me in the act 

“Alpha, your attention is needed, someone spoke from outside and 1 sighed inwardly
